Typical Gaither Homerun

The Gaither events are getting smaller and smaller with less and less different singers. This one was especially small and not with the best artists. It was also listed as a Christmas show with not much Christmas -- at intermission we were told we would come back to hear " every Christmas song we knew and some we didnt'". I think there were maybe 4-5 and then it was abruptly over. Not too impressed this time--- and have been to many in ST Louis and traveled to other cities to hear and see them before. Not sure after this one I will go again

Gaither Christmas Homecoming
by southstarz on 12/30/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5We were disappointed when we heard that Michael English had left the Gaither Vocal Band. Russ Taff, Marsh Hall and Guy Penrod have all been good in previous homecoming concerts. This was the fifth or sixth Homecoming concert that we had been to and this one was the best. Mark Lowry was in rare form for his last night as a member of the group. Reggie Smith was a excellent fill in for Michael. We had seen all of the performers before except for Angie Primm and we loved Angie. We are looking forward to seeing if their will be a new member to the Gaither Vocal Bank and making plans to go to see the Spring homecoming concert in Springfield, MO.

The concert was amazing and filled with the Spirit. I enjoyed the family harmony of the Issac's and the Martin's. I enjoyed every song that was sung that night. I missed Michael English and enjoyed Mark's last time with the GVB at a concert. Whatever group Bill puts together as the GVB will be good. Reggie did an outstanding job with the group.
Gaither Christmas Homecoming Landers Center MS
by Anonymous on 12/19/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5This was my third Gaither concert and they have ALL been terrific! Thank you so much for what you do -- a real blessing to so many! Don't ever loose David Phelps! What a talent! Also, Mark Lowry is beyond adorable!
Gaither`s never disappoint
by Puddin1978 on 12/18/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5Gaither`s are always wonderful. And this time was no different. I did this as a Christmas gift for my Mother-in-law and she has nothing but great things to say as well.
Gaither Concerts always uplift
by ChuckEPoo on 12/17/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5I have attended many of the Gaither Concerts and always know that I will be blessed and uplifted when I go. Sad that this was Mark Lowery's last performance with the Vocal Band and I hope that he'll be returning to the Concerts as a solo artist and comedian in the future.
Amazing experience!

Bill Gaither Christmas as good as it gets!
by Arayscott on 12/17/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5It was typical Bill Gaither. If you like his stuff it was great if not you were in the wrong place!! Everybody was great and it was about 3 1/2 hours of singing with a 25 minute intermission. It included the Isaacs, the Martins, gene McDonald and the Gaither Vocal Band with Reggie Smith singing lead. The sound was great with Reggie really hard to notice any change at all. His wife, Lady Love came out for one total group number but that was all. If you love gospel it was a great evening!! Will see them next time!!!

Gaither Christmas
by 1715 on 12/17/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 3 out of 5The music was great, but the facility is not user friendly. No elevator and steep stairs. The stage was so far at one end that there was limited "good" seating. The stage should have been centered. They need to choose a better location, especially for the age range of those attending.
Gaither Vocal Band - powerful, top-tier harmony.
by maw656 on 12/17/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 4 out of 5You get your money's worth with Gaither. He certainly knows how to plug and sell, but he know how to satisfy his customers. If you think the Vocal Band is the same thing as the old Gaither Trio or earlier renditions, you need to see them now. This is world class, powerful vocals abounding with comedy acts that don't seem over rehearsed. Wide range of genres. Reggie Smith did a fantastic job as the fill-in for the recently departed Michael English (liked him better, actually). Two small complaints: Instrumental accompaniment could have been tuned back a few decibels, so as to enjoy the vocals more. Also would love more GVB and less of the supporting acts. Martins are getting better, but the Isaacs are too piercing - and sang too much. If you've got any "soul," you'll love Angela Primm, and Gene McDonald is always good.
Almost 4 hours!!
by Bustersdad on 12/17/13Landers Center (formerly DeSoto Civic Center) - SouthavenRating: 5 out of 5The Gaither concert was a fabulous night of music, worship, and fun. My family went hoping to hear David Phelps' "O Holy Night", and Mark Lowry's "Mary Did You Know". What a blessing to get to hear both, with the concert ending with O Holy Night. What a finish to almost 4 hours of music. The concert started at 6, and ended at 9:45. Wow!!
Gaither Christmas Concert
