GAELIC STORM IN CONCERT:

"High energy", "fun-filled", "tremendously talented", and "the ultimate party band" are just a few of the ways that ticket buyers have described Gaelic Storm in concert. The five-piece Celtic band specializes in blending traditional Irish music with modern rock, whipping up a dance-ready sound that appeals to music lovers of all kinds. At their raucous live performances, you'll see rock fans who love the band's infectious energy alongside folk fans captivated by their entertaining stories. Along with fun renditions of traditional Irish and Scottish music, the band is also famous for their crowd-pleasing comedic banter and their easy ability to engage the crowd with sing-a-long favorites like "What's The Rumpus?" and "Drink The Night Away". With no signs of slowing down, Gaelic Storm is an unmissable live act that concertgoers won't want to miss.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Led by founding members Patrick Murphy and Steve Twigger, Gaelic Storm started playing at pubs in 1996 in Santa Monica, CA, stunning audiences with their modern take on Celtic music. Their big break came in 1997 when they appeared onscreen as the steerage band in the Oscar-winning film Titanic performing "An Irish Party In Third Class". The exposure led to extensive touring and they've since performed throughout US, Canada, UK, Japan, and France. They've also become a staple on the cruise ship circuit, where they've toured alongside major acts like Bare Naked Ladies, Zac Brown Band, The Beach Boys, and Michael Franti. Their tenth album, 2014's Full Irish, compiled the band's greatest hits from 2004-2014 and became their fifth consecutive release to top the Billboard World Albums chart.

Norva was THE PERFECT VENUE for this group. Patrick dancing through the crowd and on the bar to finish was quite the perfect ending to a funpacked evening.

    Gaelic Storm best concert yet!

by Antarcticqueen on 7/22/09Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St Louis

It really was an awesome concert. I went with my friend who did not listen to them and had no idea what to expect, and she loved it. They often told the stories behind the songs, which hard to believe it, can actually be more amusing than the songs themselves! It was a smaller venue, so you are close to the stage, people were dancing and cheering. Oh, and toasting with the band mid concert was a blast. I never in my life thought I would see a fiddle played like that, but she is amazing! I could not believe it when it came to her parts, it blew my mind! Hearing it on a CD is one thing, but actually watching them play live is quite another all together. I cannot picture anyone not having a blast at a Gaelic Storm performance, and all I can say is that if they ever come anywhere near here again, I am going!

by E6photo on 7/22/09Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St Louis

We drank while we sang and we sang about drinking. Last year I went with 2 friends, This time, 8 friends, next time... Even MORE. It's not just about the music, but it is an experience. They are entertaining, very funny, and extremely talented. I highly recommend adding Gaelic Storm to your list of Must See bands.

A Great time was had by all

by ramsfanjeff on 7/22/09Duck Room at Blueberry Hill - St Louis

Gaelic Storm has an energy that even the most casual observer cannot resist. Each member of the group individually, is an accomplished musician in their own right. But together they are among the best Irish / Folk music groups performing today. So if you get the chance to see them, don't miss the opprotunity. You will have a great time for sure!

    Gaelic Storm at The NorVa

by Metalrulz on 7/16/09The Norva - Norfolk

After listening to some of their songs at home, my daughter mentioned how she would like to see them live. Since there was no opening band, they played two sets rather than their usual one. They played a nice mix of old and new material and was surprised by the number of people in the audience (myself included) that were hearing them for the first time. Between songs Patrick Murphy entertained the crowd with some interesting stories, including one where he punched Russell Crowe. Everybody was having a good time and several people in the audience provided drinks for the band. Some couples were dancing and singing along to the songs. As an encore, Patrick, Steve and Jessie moved from the stage to the bar to paly the last couple of songs! If you like Irish ditties, you need to check out Gaelic Storm.

    Gaelic Storm in Dallas

by JohnnyTarr on 7/16/09House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

This was the third time I've seen the band perform over the past few years in the Dallas area, and it was even better than before. Their concerts are always a good time, and the HOB is a great venue for this band. Even if you're not wild about Irish music, GS concerts are too fun to pass up.

Gaelic Storm is a rousing great time

    by murphd12 on 7/16/09The Norva - Norfolk

This show was amazing. Patrick, Steve and the Gang were as usual funny and entertaining. Jessie Burns is a perfect fit for the group and has taken over Ellery's duties with a flair of her own. The music was as always uplifting and fun. You can't miss with a group like Gaelic Storm.

by Texasnightrider on 7/15/09House of Blues Dallas - Dallas

Gaelic Storm was awesome as usual. These guys have more talent in one finger than most of todays stars have overall. I plan to see them again every time they come through, or even are close. A road trip to Austin to watch them would be very cool!

    Typical Gaelic Storm

by Localobx on 7/14/09The Norva - Norfolk

They rocked the house with their high energy songs. Far less people there than I expected but i think this was a late booking because I didn't see it published until just before the concert. The Band was awesome as was to be expected, was very glad to have them playing close to me. One of my favorite bands!

No more feet lads, we're are there!

    by Duffy804 on 7/13/09The Norva - Norfolk

Gaelic Storm hit the stage with a resounding instrumental and then followed with over 2 hours of laughing, dancing, drinking and singing. They are perfectly suited for the smaller venues where audience participation and interaction can add to the show. Their musical skills in concert are only rivaled by their ability to invite the audience into their world with light hearted stories and lyrical brilliance.
