GAELIC STORM IN CONCERT:

"High energy", "fun-filled", "tremendously talented", and "the ultimate party band" are just a few of the ways that ticket buyers have described Gaelic Storm in concert. The five-piece Celtic band specializes in blending traditional Irish music with modern rock, whipping up a dance-ready sound that appeals to music lovers of all kinds. At their raucous live performances, you'll see rock fans who love the band's infectious energy alongside folk fans captivated by their entertaining stories. Along with fun renditions of traditional Irish and Scottish music, the band is also famous for their crowd-pleasing comedic banter and their easy ability to engage the crowd with sing-a-long favorites like "What's The Rumpus?" and "Drink The Night Away". With no signs of slowing down, Gaelic Storm is an unmissable live act that concertgoers won't want to miss.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Led by founding members Patrick Murphy and Steve Twigger, Gaelic Storm started playing at pubs in 1996 in Santa Monica, CA, stunning audiences with their modern take on Celtic music. Their big break came in 1997 when they appeared onscreen as the steerage band in the Oscar-winning film Titanic performing "An Irish Party In Third Class". The exposure led to extensive touring and they've since performed throughout US, Canada, UK, Japan, and France. They've also become a staple on the cruise ship circuit, where they've toured alongside major acts like Bare Naked Ladies, Zac Brown Band, The Beach Boys, and Michael Franti. Their tenth album, 2014's Full Irish, compiled the band's greatest hits from 2004-2014 and became their fifth consecutive release to top the Billboard World Albums chart.

    A real crowd -pleaser!

by Correo on 8/30/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

Gaelic Storm puts on an all-around good show. They have the right mix of music to produce a lively pacing in their concerts. The band values their fans as shown by continuing to play relatively smaller venues and by their willingness to sign autographs and pose for pictures after every show. I brought 4 people along with me who had never heard the band before and all throughout the concert they had such big smiles on their faces. I asked them each afterwards what they thought of the group and they commented, "delightful", "energetic", "fun".

by Raevyn on 8/29/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

I have seen Gaelic Storm before, but this has to be the best show I have seen. They came on stage and had great energy and just pumped up the audience. They are interactive with the audience, get them on their feet clapping, and singing along. You never get tired with all the energy of the show. If you like to hear music that will get you moving, clapping, laughing, and singing along, then go see Gaelic Storm

    Gaelic Storm Awesome as Always

by Lily4 on 8/29/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

Brought 8 friends to the concert who had never seen Gaelic Storm. They were instantly thrilled to be there. Loved their energy, humor, and tremendous musical skills. They have a way to instantly get the audience involved. Lots of variety --- fun singalong songs --- awesome instrumentals --- great story-tellers --- great voices --- great personalities. You don't have to love Irish music to love their concerts. Among my friends, we have a lot of varied tastes in music, but we all agreed that Gaelic Storm is a group that draws you in and totally entertains you. What a great way to spend an evening!

    Gaelic Storm Rocked!

by irishel9301 on 8/29/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

As always, they were awesome performing live!! My husband and I have seen them at least 10 times now, and they are always outstanding. We brought a couple that came with us for the 1st time to see them last year, as well as our neighbors who had never seen them before, and all 6 of us walked away very pleased with the concert! As my 95-year-old,100% Irish Grandma told me before the concert last night, rub your 8-months pregnant belly and tell the baby to enjoy the Irish music!!!! My husband and I were thrilled when Gaelic Storm ended with, "Kiss Me, I'm Irish," as that song always reminds us of my beloved grandmother. I think I felt our baby girl doing an Irish jig! ;-)

    Kickin' good time.

by 2old2care on 8/29/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

What fun. We saw them on St. Patrick's Day at House of Blues in Chicago and now at the Minnesota Zoo. Very cool venue. Pretty much the same show. Tons of fun, great leadership from Patrck Murphy and well worth the cost of the hangover.

Great performance in a outstanding venue with a very appreciative crowd. It was the combination of the three that made this concert as good as it was.

    Gaelic Storm is a blast!

by Shillelagh on 8/29/09Minnesota Zoo Amphitheater - Apple Valley

Gaelic Storm was a really fun and lively concert. Enjoyed every minute of it. The weather was perfect as well. The only downside was that with all of the service fees, I paid $85 for tickets which turned out to be "obstructed view" seats in the second row on the far side of the auditorium. Although we had some speakers blocking most of our view, we were able to see most of the band performing. However, after about 15 minutes into the show, a dozen people decided to come down from the stands and proceed to stand right in front of us, so "they" could get a better view! I asked security about this and they said they could do nothing about it. Isn't that what security it for!

    Another great GS show

    by Thundarr79 on 8/3/09Vogue Theatre - Indianapolis

Once again, Gaelic Storm puts on another great performance. Murphy, as always, is a great entertainer and really gets the crowd going. The only complaint is that they started 45 minutes late. Otherwise, there wasn't a bad moment in the show.

    Gaelic Storm rocked the house!

Gaelic Storm is an awesome pub band. The Vogue was not jammed packed. We could see the band perform from our seats. They are brilliantly talented and keep the crowd engaged.

    by crazy5bnl on 7/31/09Magic Bag - Ferndale

From the moment they entered the stage and began playing, I didn't want them to stop! I am a new Gaelic Storm fan and they played some songs that I was not familiar with, plus they played all the ones that made me fall in love with them in the first place.

    Gaelic Storm is intense

by SteveSZ on 7/30/09Magic Bag - Ferndale

Gaelic Storm is one of my five favorite bands and I catch them whenever I can. They play Irish/Celtic music complete with pipes, fiddle, accordion, funny stories and beery lyrics. The humor is sort of a centerpiece but the musical virtuosity of the band is not to be overlooked. If you never thought that bagpipes and fiddle could rock you haven't seen Gaelic Storm. Last night's show was interesting because of the five times I've seen them, this was the first time I've seen them have to deal with technical problems and sound issues. Despite these minor annoyances and a sleepy week night crowd they reached down deep, put on a really excellent show and won the place over. I love these guys! These guys deserve a larger national following but I'd hate to have to see them in a bigger arena.

    The Storm Always Bring It!

by GaelicTim on 7/25/09The Intersection - Grand Rapids

Listening to live music is generally always a good time, but going to a GS concert makes it a sure thing! Although it's my hometown, I'd never been to a show at The Intersection, but it was a great venue to let yourself go with a band of great musicians that tour and tour and give their old and new fans somethings to dance and smile about every set they play. The people I brought to this concert became new fans of the Band who play their you know what's off for you and then make themself accessible after the concert. Thanks GS...!
