Fun band with too many guitars. They were doing what they do and I just wasn't that impressed. If four guitars drowning in sound is your jammy thing than this is your band.

NYE show. Wasn't familiar with their music before. Didn't do anything to make me a fan.

I've seen Futurebirds 6 times in all kinds of settings (clubs, festivals, restaurants, etc) and each time they bring it. Maybe it was that Thomas's grandmother was in the audience, but this performance was one of the best I've seen from them musically. Per usual their set list was solid and highlighted by 2 unrecored covers for them ("Rocks Off" and "Unknown Legend). "Yur Not Dead" never ceases to be fantastic live. You are truly missing out if you haven't caught a Futurebirds show.
They Rock
by Akla on 11/13/1340 Watt - AthensRating: 5 out of 5Short and simple, these guys have gone from good to great. Back in Athens they rocked out...luckily they've done the same in Atlanta, Austin, Seattle, hell all over the place. These guys kickass and even if they have lost a band member here and there, they are still on top of their game.
WOW
by Anonymous on 6/1/13Great Scott - AllstonRating: 5 out of 5great show/ even nastier live band. Ive never seen a band use a lap steal and a banjo through a delay pedal. All the guitarists have great guitar tone and there live shows are really a work of art. Definitely seing these guys again soon.

The Futurebirds were awesome. I've seen them at least 2 dozen times and this was a great show. Good venue and good acoustics.
Confusing...
by Brittles23 on 1/3/12Buckhead Theatre - AtlantaRating: 2 out of 5Apparently the Futurebirds played first?? The moral of the story may be to get to concerts on time, but headliners shouldn't play before supporting acts. Had fun hanging out for an hour though. Good background music? Cheers.
1 Night Stand
by Hobs44 on 2/27/11Mercury Lounge - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5The Futurebirds are, well, the Future. They rotated instruments, they prayed around the steel guitar - they sang about the girl at the bar and they sang about the skis in Vermont. They were deep-fried electrified. They were southern comfort with a complete dose of caffeine. They made the patrons smile and they made the girls' yearn. I, for one, want to see them in New York and very soon. Next time, can they play a longer set?
