They did 3 sets, totaling 6 hours of awesome music. They had a parade of floats come out through the audience in the beginning of the third set...incredible! My boyfriend and I had so much fun, we didn't want the show to end!
a great show that had to make you think you were getting slow when the 70 year old out lasted us by 2 hours. The sets had every kind of great performances that I could think of.
NOT ENOUGH BOB AND PHIL!!!!!!!!!!!!! it was awesome that the show ran until 2pm...but BART stopped running! was surprised to see the lead singer from Cold PLay and back up singers? but still, I am a die hard Dead Head forever simply, not enough Bob and Phil
Amazing show, with quite an emphasis on the "friends" part of the billed "Furthur and Friends." Jackie Greene and Chris Robinson were both in great form, and the fact that Chris Robinson took the lead on vocals was a surprising boon for the entire night.
Was so good to see the boys again! Phil looked really happy all night. Those younger boys kept him rockin'!!! Why they played 'The Other One' again I'll never know, but it was a great show. Loved the acoustic opening set - my favorite. Keep on truckin', Phil!
I enjoyed being with good friends and hearing songs that I thought I would never hear loud. The show overall sucked because the setlist was so illogical "Ripple" opener?? I would be cool if things went together but they often didn't. The parade was a trainwreck! When the last song was sang I was happy it was over and wondered who were all the rest of the band who stayed up there all night but rarely played. The night was all about that Black Crows guy who basically sounded bad. The highlight of the evening was sneaking in over a six pack, even that didn't make them sound better though!
The show started with a lot of anticipation for an amazing night. We were not let down at all. From the first song of Ripple to almost 6 hours later and ending the fun filled magical night with Johnny B Goode it was one of the best shows I have seen. The Peggy-O was so sweet and beautiful and how wonderful was it to hear Phil sing Mountains of the Moon and then end the acoustic first set with an incredible display of harmonizing on Attics of my Life.
The performance was great! Good atmosphere. Loved it
Jackie is exciting and talented. The band was fine solidly in a song, but week at jamming and improvising in "space"
Best show since the last. Happy early Birthday PHILLLL! I enjoyed every moment. Thanks for giving us your music.
This show was memorable on so many levels- celebrating Phil's 70th. They played three sets and it ended at 2am- I laughingly told my son that they actually did us in and left us complete, ready to go. I love Further- Phil and Bob and John. sound as good as the Dead EVER did and its a joy to behold. This said as a Dead Head of 40 years. The only thing that kept me from giving this fie stars is that I would have preferred Chris Robinson, good as he is and great as having his guest was, sing fewer leads- I wanted to hear the Further experience complete with their peeps- and there were songs that I thought should have been shared for lead that he sang himself.I mean really- John should have sung lead on Scarlet Begonias, really. That was the only thing that kept me from thinking this was one for the top 20 list of all time! I hope to see Further play a lot around here this year,
Best. Night. Ever. I've heard Phil play better shows, but I've never been to a show that was more fun than this one. Totally wonderful. I was worried that there were too many musicians on stage, but everyone was willing to give room or step up when it was time. The rhythm section was stellar. I mean, Phil, Bobby, both keys, and all three drummers (great to see Molo again!). Loved it.
The 1st set was great acoustic an all. Chris Robinson sang beautifully and the vibe was unbelievable. I think Begonias and Just like a rolling stone were highlights too. It seemed everyone was satisfied and had a good time.
Its was a great time everyone was having a blast special guests rocked!
KILLER SHOW! everyhthing you could want from a dead show
Phil was spot on, Chris Robinson of the Black Crows was awesome, Bob didn't do much singing. It was a great show, the first set was a little to bluegrass for me, but it picked up after that and lasted until after 2:00 am. They were very tight, I still miss Micky and Bill though.
They are the goods. You can see their talent, experience and style every second. The band played almost five hours of music for us, every bit of it great. If you can see Further, do it. ;-)
I really appreicated the acoustic set to start, unexpected but awesome!!!! Then they played for 4 and a half more hours.
The show was great! Chris Robinson fit right in, with the dead.
