It was a high energy concert in an appropriate venue. The people were fun and the music was great. It's about time they found the right lead guitarist for their band to carry on a great tradition. Further has succeeded in capturing the classic Dead sound! Keep the guitarist--he's your future: Phil, you should overpay him. I'm an old friend since 1965-Fillmore Auditorium-kids got in free!
The show rocked great verisons of China Cat, Playing in the Band, Bertha, and Begonias!!! Killer show!
Awesome show last night!!! Wish I could be there tonight!!! Phil's bass rocked my insides, John was on it all night, Bobby and the rest were wonderful, really great show that I wished would never end. Final note in Terrapin encore was perfect capper to a great night!!! Thanks guys for keeping it going!!!
This show was SO much fun. I'm so glad they finally got Kadlicek in the mix; he did a great job and I haven't seen Phil grinning and rocking so much in ages. The sound was spectacular, in a venue where I've often thought it was muddy. Highlights for me included Kadlicek's solo in Half Step, Phil and the keyboardist going off during Eyes, a smokin' King Solomon's Marbles and a solid Terrapin encore. Also got to hear Lost Sailor/Saint, what a treat! Altogether a fantastic show and I'm so happy I was able to be there.
Fantastic! I thought I was listening to Jerry Garcia again! Too bad Mickey and Bill K. wern't there....
I thought it was a good show. It waas quite crowed so the VIP seating was splendid. Music was good a bit smokey though....It is amazing how much Bob sounds like Jerry!
SImply amazing. Great show, great sound, great vibe. Phil fist-bumped Bobby and John after Berta. It was that good. I danced all night, lost all track of time and could have gone for another 3 hours. I even waited in line for 30 minutes after the show to buy a copy of the live CD of the show.
I have been seeing The Dead since the Capital ---Passaic, NJ in '76. Been through many incarnations and this has to be the best non-JerryG I have seen over the years. My friends started seeing DSO years ago and turned me onto them and I could see the magic then. We were in a restaurant in Marin after Brent had died and suggested to Bob thyat they start looking at some of the guys and he had commented they had there prospects for new people. Well years later they took my friends advice and the time came around and here they are. Incredible.
