About

Frankie Valli is best known as the frontman of The Four Seasons and stood out from contemporary singers for his unique falsetto vocals. Rising to fame in the ‘60s, Frankie Valli is still going strong as a solo artist 50 years later.
With The Four Seasons, Valli had 29 hit singles that reached the Top 40 and as a solo artist he added a further nine Top 40 hits. The first hit for the band was “Sherr,” which went to No. 1 in 1962. Frankie's first solo hit, “Can't Take My Eyes Off You,” which was to become his signature song, was released in 1967. Frankie and the band continued to have hits throughout the ‘60s and ‘70s. In 1978 Frankie was back with a big hit, performing the title track to the iconic film Grease, which became a favorite all over the world.
Throughout their career from the ‘60s to the mid-‘70s, The Four Seasons released around 20 albums, but many more compilation and collection albums were to be released over the years. A further 10 albums were released by Valli as a solo artist, the most recent of which was Romancing the 60s, released in 2007. Valli has continued to perform and tour throughout the decades, and continues to collaborate with other artists. As recently as 2010 Valli recorded a duet with Juice Newton, “The Biggest Part of Me,” which was released as a track on Newton's Duets: Friends & Memories album. Despite a very distinguished and long-standing career, Frankie Valli wasn't to make his debut on Broadway until 2012 when he performed in a week-long concert.
For a career that has spanned half a century, it’s difficult to list all the awards and acclaim Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons have won. It‘s testament to their success that in 1990 they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and that they entered the Vocal Group Hall of Fame a further nine years later. The popularity of some of their recordings has stood the test of time among fans and artists who have followed them down the years. Some 200 artists have made their own cover versions of “Can't Take My Eyes Off You” alone. As if being immortalized in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame wasn't enough, the life and careers of Frankie and The Four Seasons became the subject of the globally successful musical Jersey Boys in 2005. The show went on to win six Tony Awards and continues to tour today, stopping at the likes of the Old National Centre and other nationally acclaimed venues.

    Teenage Deja VU!

by Snedge on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

I got real tingles up my spine to hear in person the songs of my teenage years. In 8th grade there was a "Sherry" in the class and she became popular. In 9th grade there was a "Dawn", and she became well known. Wow! Walking like a man was really good advice in 1963. Having someone under my skin reminded me of the Incredible Voyage movie from the same era. What a walk down memory lane! It was two hours of sheer delight. Enough endorphins to completely forget the hard folding chair seats and the elbow to elbow seating. Frankie creates a stage presence a 100 times his real size, which actually surprised me. He could have used a hidden riser, perhaps. The Four Seasons were snappy, crisp , synchronized dancers and excellent back up singers. the stage was a little cluttered...the dancers got lost among the background musicians, mainly because everyone was dressed very dark. Need to differentiate colors and use lighting bettter. Great Entertainment!

    Frankie Valli still has it!

by Meema on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

It was a great concert! Frankie and his 'seasons' brought back the old songs and had people swaying, clapping hands and even dancing at the vineyard. It brought back the music of the 60's and many of us went back in time and enjoyed it very much. The food at Wente, as always, was delicious! I found nothing I didn't like and the wine was tasty also.

    Great Voice

by SFCityboy on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

Frankie’s voice was amazing, one of distinction and richness. I enjoyed seeing “The Jersey Boys”, and to see the really Jersey Boy was even better than I had anticipated. Songs bring back memories, but to hear his signature songs to perfect pitch and live, was truly extraordinary. Wente provides a good comfortable venue with food, wine and music. This was an evening to remember.

    Music Selections

    by Grammie66 on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

I have been a fan of Frankie and the Four Seasons for 48 years. This was my first Frankie concert. It is my opinion that the venue should have began his music with a more jump-start single than the one's he started with. He seemed sluggish in the beginning, but revived as the evening moved along. He should be more selective in the types of songs he chooses to sing on stage. The Four Seasons were energetic, harmonized beautifully, and seemed as they were having a blast! My wish for Frankie Valli is that he scrutinize his opening music so that the audience is already on their feet, not just sitting back. He is a legend!

    Frankie Valli was "FLAT"

by RealMusicEnthusiast on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

Frankie Valli did not have any "energy" until the last 15-20 minutes of a 90-minute performance. He strolled on the stage at the start with very little energy--not an exciting opening appearance. He sang with very little enthusiasm until the last few songs. It seemed as if his energy came when he knew he could "get the hell out of there." The musicians were way over-amplified, to the extent that the singers' voices were difficult to hear or were unintelligible. I did not expect the equivalent of a heavy metal concert from the way his concerts played in his prime.

    Frankie Valli

by Motown on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

It was great to see one of the "old timers" who has embraced the youth movement. He hasn't lost his voice but has enhanced his performance with his backup (four fabulous young men) and a great band. Wente Winery was a fantastic place to see a concert and the dinner was delicous.

    Still has his great voice

by FrapDaddy on 7/17/09Wente Vineyards - Livermore

Frankie Valli still's got it. His concert was great. The backup singers (Four Seasons) were fantastic and did all of the dance backup as well (as they are in their 20-30's) to make up for Frankie, but hey, I hope I can do what he does at his age. Highly recommend you see him.

    Frankie Valli still bringing it

by Mabarker3 on 7/16/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

The whole experience was great! The room with a balcony facing the street, the dinner, and being able to go in the concert shortly before it began. Then being able to walk back to our room and not fight traffic. The show was very good and we were not disappointed in any of it.

    Frankie was awesome

by JnTC on 7/16/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

It was a wonderful experience to go see one of the greats who started it all. So many songs to bring up memories one associates with a time in ones life, both exciting and sad. It is a great concept to drive down, park your car, go to dinner, walk over to a concert, enjoy some after concert drinks and entertainment, then stroll back to your room never having to touch the car in the process. We will definately do it again as long as people we would like to see are not mid week. These are not workable for most people. But it was awesome to see Mr. Jersey Boy in the flesh.

    Amazing Frankie!!

by Vistahammy on 7/16/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

How fortunate were my daughter and I to have been able to see my moms teen idol perform. I really wish my mom could've been there. When the show started and the "new" Four Seasons came out I was was a little worried I had miss read something and this might have been a tribute group. But then Frankie came out and rocked the house. He is an amazing singer and performer. I wish he would go to COLORADO for a show.

    Frankie Valli

by jamsvet on 7/15/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

That old Italians still got it. When he first comes on the stage till the end of the performance, he gives it his all. Very entertaining and he can still hit all the notes. First saw him in Pheonix where he appeared with the Beach Boys, my favorite group. We liked him so much we had to come see his show and he didn't disappoint.

    Frankie's New "Seasons" are delicious!!!

by TamIamthe1 on 7/15/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

This was a really outstanding concert. We had front row center and I am glad because the seats at this venue are basically folding chairs all lined out in rows and that leaves little room to wiggle much less sway to the music. The guys that were in the position of the "Four Seasons" as back-up were yummy and very talented. I was very impressed. I am 35 and my boyfriend (recently ex-boyfriend as of this concert night, but that is a whole 'nother story) is/was 49 so I wasn't as excited about the concert as he. BUT I had so much fun and knew each and every song. Frankie also happens to be a very witty individual with that old-school class and charisma. Outstanding! Wonderful view of the harbor and would love to come to this venue again, though would pay for the cheaper seats on an aisle(strictly for pricing). We got a room, concert, dinner package and it was real pricey but hey it's San Diegoa nd the food at Humphrey's restaurant is truly delectable. The staff throughout the property goes above and beyond to help with ANY problems you may experience or simply hold a tablein the lounge while you have dinner in the restaurant so you can catch the lounge act directly after you fill your tummy. Go! You will love it!!

    Frankie Valli is the Man

by Sockking on 7/15/09Humphreys Concerts By the Bay - San Diego

I did not like Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons when I grew up in Philly. However, ever since seeing the Jersey Boys, I am a fanatic! The concert was terrific with a full ensemble of talented musicians, dancers and singers. Frankie was so generous with his patriotic words which touched the hearts of many in this Navy town. Frankie also spent a lot of time shaking hands with everyone that walked up to the stage- he was truly a joy to see. Go see him while you can.
