FRANK. The Man. The Music. on Tour

FRANK The Man The Music... starring Bob Anderson, is a perfectly executed theatrical production honoring Frank Sinatra...the greatest saloon singer that ever lived and his enormous contributions to The Great American Songbook.

Anderson's 'tribute' to Sinatra is a musical masterpiece...a phenomenal work of musical theatre, dedicated to mastering Sinatra's voice, look and persona. He is the only artist performing today with the complete technical skills to take on a theatrical production of this order. Like Sinatra, his jazz-oriented sense of time is flawless and his diction and intonation are perfect. Nancy Sinatra discovered Bob Anderson at the age of 23 and introduced him to the show business world. He became Nancy's opening act at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas. Nancy brought Anderson with her to the Merv Griffin show for his first appearance on national television. It was Griffin who discovered Anderson's ability to imitate other singers and introduced him to the world as "The Singing Impressionist." Anderson soon became a regular on every talk and late-night variety show to include; David Letterman, Merv Griffin, Mike Douglas, Showtime, HBO, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, and all the rest, resulting in 196 national and international television appearances. Anderson is the only guest in the history of The Tonight Show with two appearances in the same week. Anderson has worked in more Lounges and main rooms than just about anyone in Las Vegas entertainment history. Anderson is a 3-time "Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year"... award winning artist. He is also a member of "The Casino Legends Hall of Fame" and "The Las Vegas Entertainment Hall of Fame." In 2015, VH1 voted Bob Anderson the #1 celebrity impersonator in the world, an honor that was also given to him by People Magazine.

Nightly, he endures a 2-hour makeup application by Academy Award winning makeup artist, Kazu Tsuji, and Emmy Award winning make-up artist Ron Wild, whose works... border on surreal. From Jennifer Lopez to Tony Bennett and Tom Jones...Bob is the only singer, actor, impressionist who is unanimously endorsed by his peers.

  • Simply the best

by DesertDR on 6/20/18The Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

It was truly amazing. Best show I have ever seen. Bob Anderson actually made me believe that I was at a Frank Sinatra concert. When he walked on stage he looked like Frank Sinatra. His makeup was amazing. His voice, personality and Sinatra demeanor, was accurate to a tee. He sang a song called Old Man River that made me cry. This is a show for all ages who heard the music of Frank Sinatra and wished they could have seen him perform. The large Orchestra was so good. I can't say enough about this show. I could see it again and again. Thank you Bob Anderson for keeping Frank Sinatra and his wonderful music alive and perfectly presented. You are the best!

The experience was like going back in time to the days of the cabaret! If you didn’t know better, you would think you were truly at a Frank Sinatra show!

  • Just like seeing Frank Sinatra LIVE

    by Julianr23 on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Bob Anderson puts on a great show. He dresses, talks, acts, and sings just like Frank Sinatra. He stays in character 100% and even looks like him from the theater. The 32 piece orchestra played amazing original sheet music from Frank Sinatra, not edited for radio etc. it was amazing! DSO was beautiful, great host John vicari.

  • Frank was fabulous

Frank the man was amazing. If you closed your eyes you thought that Frank SInatra was right there. Unfortunately the acoustics in The Opera house are not the best. It was very difficult to understand all the interesting comments and talk between the songs.

  • Exemplary Performance

by TdLewis on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

This performance took me back to the true 'Frank Sinatra' era. The selection of songs sung was right on point. I have a love for live music, I look forward to listening to live whenever I get a chance.

  • Frank the man was very worthwhile seeing!

Left the show thinking I could not believe what I saw and heard, Bob Anderson was Frank Sinatra!

  • Frank the Man the Music

Overall we, 90 year old Dad and I, enjoyed the show. However, most of Bob Anderson's performance, singing, talking etc. was not loud enough to hear what he was singing or saying. The orchestra overpowered the majority of the outstanding performance by Mr. Anderson and even when he was speaking, it was impossible to hear every word that was uttered. Thus, the average rating is my choice. If Mr. Anderson's mic volume had been at a level at which you could hear every word he sang or said, a 5 start rating would have been given.

  • FRANK THE MAN AND MUSIC

by jimster on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Being a hard core Sinatra fan, I didn't know what to expect. Bob Anderson is AMAZING! He has a strong voice and handles the Sinatra material exceptionally well. The Trudell orchestra provided authentic Sinatra backing sounds and blew the roof off the Opera House! An outstanding night of rememberance of Francis Albert!

  • SPECTACULAR!!!!!!!

by DesertDR on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

Spectacular show!! Bob Anderson is as close as you can ever get to seeing Frank Sinatra live in concert!!! His voice and wit and mannerisms are SPOT ON and you leave believing you actually just saw SINATRA!! He came out for two encores because no one wanted the show to end!! As we all filed out the theater everyone was saying the same thing, “ OMG, I JUST SAW FRANK SINATRA!”

This show was awesome, we saw the show in Las Vegas and it was an amazing experience. Bob takes you back in time, loved the music.

  • Frank the Man - as close as it gets!

by SJJBrown on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

The show was completely entertaining! I am slightly younger than that era but grew up listening to that music with my parents and because of that it just sticks with you. The music of course was fantastic, three cheers for the musicians!! As he noted in the show, there are so many songs he can't hit everyone's favorites I just wish he would have played a couple more of the more popular ones all the way through - he hit on them in the mix he did but I think most people would have liked to hear them all the way through! Congrats to Bob for being able to carry on such wonderful music for this generation to enjoy!

  • Frank: The Man, The Music

by ATDP on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

This show is likely headed to Broadway and already was in Las Vegas for a year-long run. Bob Anderson (aka * Frank") has voraciously studied every nuance of Frank and his performances, and it shows! He is considered "the best" of all similar acts. He stays "in character" throughout the performance and shares some fun anecdotes.(Mr. Anderson is a metro Detroit native, btw, and loves our town). Frank himself saw Bob perform in 1983 & said 'the kid has talent.' Frank's own music director worked with him on this show. In Detroit, he was backed by Johnny Trudell's 32-piece band, always a treat. The Detroit Opera House also was a stellar venue for this performance. If you have the chance to see this and are a "Frank fan", you won't be disappointed!

  • Anderson was great!

Again, he was great. I really enjoyed his choice of songs, actions, mannerisms and, overall, thoroughly enjoyed it.

  • Frank - the man, the music

by Anonymous on 6/19/18Detroit Opera House - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

One of the best shows I've ever been to. I've seen the real 'Frank" several times, mostly later in his career. This surpasses even the real 'Man'. Just Fabulous! Great arrangements, great mannerisms, great story-telling. After the first few songs, you could no longer differentiate between the two artists. They were one in the same.

  • Frank the Man was delightful

Mr. Alexander IS Frank Sinatra. It was a night Frank came back to life. He sang many of his great hits with a fine full orchestra. He rarely came out of character and gave us two hours of bliss. Voice is the SAME. Makeup was amazing. Will see it again. Opera House is an excellent venue.
