    It was ok

by Booneyboo33 on 1/4/19Apollo Theater - New York

They are a phenomenal dance company however I wasn’t blown away by their performance. I don’t want to come off cynical or negative but it’s nothing I haven’t seen before. However, I was more pleased with their performance than the kids. I wished the kids would have incorporated more African dances than urban hip hop moves. Besides their mediocre performance the rest of the show was ok. Nothing special here.

    Excellent Production

by OW on 1/2/19Apollo Theater - New York

This was one of the best shows I've seen! It was beautifully choreographed with excellent production - very poignant and especially moving because of the occasion.

It was my first time attending the Kwanzaa celebration .

by Salimah on 1/1/19Apollo Theater - New York

It was a SUPERFANTASTIC production. The dancing was dynamic,high-energy,electrifying. The references to the Nguzo Saba, the priciples & meaning of Kwanzaa were informative. It reminded those that knew and educated those that didn't. I brought my niece with me this year and plan to bring more family members in 2019. Lastly, I had GREAT SEATS(row c seats 1 & 30).

    Forces of Nature

by Aja on 1/1/19Apollo Theater - New York

This dance company is my favorite dance group. They put in stunning performances that place you in the center of the story. The drummers adjust your heartbeat to their rhythm and you are then transported. I attend most of their performances and I’m am truly grateful that I did. Thank you Bro. Abdel Salaam and Forces of Nature!

great dancers, singers could be better

by MissAfra on 1/11/18Apollo Theater - New York

I loved the dancers and their show very much, but I found the chosen singers on that evening very boring (despite coming from the same region of the singers...) Apollo could and should definitely do better on their choice of singers/songs. Choose better singers (or at least better songwriters) and I would definitely recommend the show.

    Kwanzaa is Culture

by Preservation on 1/7/18Apollo Theater - New York

I'm an elder over 70 yrs old. Although the Forces Of Nature Dance Co. and Les Nubians were excellent I was disappointed to see the younger group (Next Generation) didn't have African dance as their selection. Their performance I felt was more suitable for a talent show vs Kwanzaa. Our culture is eroding away with hip hop etc. Kwanzaa is about celebrating and passing on our African history . I strongly feel that should have been highlighted for those who didn't get to see early Kwanzaa programs where it was emphasized strongly. The Libation should have been poured into soil vs a bowl. A plant is usually used as a substitute when pouring indoors. It was a treat to see Gary Byrd again moderating at the Apollo and keeping it real.

    Kwanzaa is a Cultural Phenomenon

by LoneStar14 on 1/2/18Apollo Theater - New York

There are no words to describe the importance of the arts and it's impact on the minds and emotions of all who participate as creatives or observe as spectators. The beauty, humanity and excellence presented by Forces of Nature Dance Theater, the inimitable Gary Imhotep Byrd, and the exquisite music duo Les Nubians was by far the most exhilarating and uplifting theatrical experience on offer all year. If you haven't already, take the opportunity next year to experience the wealthy culture of the African Diaspora - you will be forever changed. Isn't that what art is supposed to do?

    Kwanzaa Celebration: Regeneration Night

by APND1 on 1/2/18Apollo Theater - New York

There was some celebration but to much talking & gaps in between acts/groups. Box seating said some view restrictions but we couldn't see half of the stage.

    Something for Everyone!

by CRCT on 12/19/17New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I was engaged the whole time. The breaks were brief, the performances were skilled, well choreographed and entertaining. There was something for the seasoned guests, mid-lifers and millenials. Time well spent. Plan to go again next year for sure!!

by phleebbt on 12/20/16New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Every year my family and I go to see Forces of Nature. It's an amazing group of dancers, and I love the productions. It would not seem like the Holidays/Kwanzaa without the show every year.
