BP was the weakest part of the show. It was more like a review than a show. Jan Maxwell was fab and Jayne Houdyshell funny. But overall it was not my cup of tea

    Once in a Lifetime!

by Number1FolliesFan on 9/24/11Marquis Theatre - New York

I was too young in 1971 to see Follies live, but soon thereafter became a devotee of this musical through recordings, video tapes and DVDs. I've waited a long time to see it on stage and I was simply overwhelmed by the quality of both the production and performances. It will live in my memory for the rest of my life. Oh, and by the way, will someone have the foresight to tape it and release it on DVD for future generations? Please!

    Fabulous Follies

by LuAnnAtTheShow on 9/24/11Marquis Theatre - New York

Wonderful evening. Great show. Jan Maxwell is phenomenal. All leads except Bernadette Peters were superb. I think she was unwell the night we went; she was still good, but not her usual magnificent self. Costuming is amazing. And the songs: well, they are Sondheim and can't be beat!

    Delicious

by KNCD on 9/24/11Marquis Theatre - New York

The production was a delight in "almost" every way. The sets, orchestra, costumes and performances were all that we have come to expect from Soundheim 's masterpiece. The only disappointment was Bernadette Peters. It seemed like she was strugglling with her voice. It was significantly weaker then she normally sounds. It was almost as if she's having some serious vocal trouble. I certainly hope not. The emotional side of her performance was exquisite, but her singing was so off the mark that we felt sure she must be suffering some problems in that area. So, since we bought these tickets mainly because Bernadette was in the show, this was a big disappointment. But go see it - worth every cent of a full priced ticket!
