    Good!

by Sharonrosemarie on 12/8/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

The performance was good and the singing was great. However, the set needs some improvement. Also, I would recommend that Act I should be made into two Acts to allow for a break.

    The Barber of Seville (Upgrade)

by Bricardo on 12/8/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

While arriving at the theater I was gladly surprised to see several kids, and happy to know that parents and relatives are taken the youth to an Opera. The upgrade version removed some of the fun, and have added unnecessary sexual innuendos.

We really enjoyed the show. The art direction was excellent. The sound was not perfect when ladys were signing. Not loud enough. We have recommended the show to all our friends. Unfortunately many persons have leaved before they had time to applause. This is not polite and we have seen that many times in Floride.

    Acitve and Present

by RosaDanzante33 on 2/18/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Lovely evening captured by the voices and performance, the live orchestra. Opera is a beautiful whole genre and it takes complete active presence, attention to enjoy it. it is easy to be embraced by Morzart's music and voices.

Cosi Fan Tutte was an amazing first Opera to see

by SlpMS on 2/17/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I have always wanted to go to an opera and this one was truly amazing, the experience has made me want to go see more operas. The cast was incredible, their talent is remarkable. The story plot is easy to follow with lots of laughter.

    Noisy ushers

by Peye on 2/17/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Performance was fair. Unfortunately my experience was ruined by the ushers sitting right behind me. As soon as the orchestra started playing, the usher started humming along. I politely asked her to quiet down but she could not hear me and loudly asked the usher next to her: "I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT HE IS SAYING" I switched seats and started to enjoy the opera when another usher behind me started to open the noisest bag of chips ever. We glanced at her and she put it away. Not sure if these folks volunteer, however they should be the first ones setting the bar high for polite behavior at the center.

    Good Laugh

by NYC1Eddie on 2/17/15Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

This is the perfect Opera to see if you are new to Opera, like my wife, and she loved it! We enjoyed it so much that we are looking forward to the next one.

    Emotional and memorable performance

by Saabophile on 12/9/14Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

It has been 10 years since I last saw Madama Butterly at this venue, and this performance did not disappoint. The voices were pure and vibrant, the orchestra top-notch. The overall experience was first-class, as a Grand Opera performance should be.

    Long periods of nothing happening

by FtLaudrd on 12/9/14Au-Rene Theater at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

In addition to a 20 minute intermission, there is a period of time during which the main character is laying on the floor "sleeping" for at least 15 minutes. During that time, no one is doing anything. There is nothing happening and you are just watching the performer lying down. It added unnecessary time to the show and by the time the performance resumed, few people were interested. Everyone was bored and several people had begun to doze off.
