FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:
Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals, backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

Non stop high energy show with some great "old" hits ans some new stuff too. Never a slow song with Fitz
Amazing live! such an intimate concert venue. Played all there greatest and more! amazing energy. but it definitely come to see them again!
Fun unexpectedly! My girlfriend and I went to this concert thinking it would be a way to pass the time... what actually happened was a really fun intimate gathering that felt like we where with friends
Great vocals & energy! Everyone was on their feet for the entire concert!
unfortunately the person next to me took up part of my seat as well as their own. the good news was that everyone stood for the concert
Fitz and the T's always put on a great show. I just wish they had played longer. The show was just over an hour.
I enjoyed the warm up music. Fitz and the Tantrums were great. I loved the mix of older hits and new songs.
I've been wanting to see Fitz and The Tantrums for a long while and finally got the chance. They performed so well live. Amazing energy and crowd interaction. I was super impressed with how well they played live -- the sound quality/engineering was unusually good. I would highly recommend catching this band live!! You won't regret it.
From the first song to the last the song the energy was and music was great
A ballroom is not the best place to have a concert. Difficult to see and the sound was only OK. Having the lights behind the band didn't help. Also, I thought the concert seemed frantic. I've seen them twice before and both times were more enjoyable.
Love this group! Lots of energy on stage and I crowd! Great show all around!
Had a great time seeing Fitz and the Tantrums at the Belasco. Up close and personal experience. Wife and I had a great time.
Great venue, good sound, fun energetic engaging band. Families were dancing together - awesome.
The show was amazing! So much energy and the band was incredible. You can tell they really enjoy what they’re doing. Their happiness and energy was contagious. My children (5 & 12) and I really enjoyed the show. The Belasco…. Venue was beautiful and our balcony seats were great. Soft cushions to sit on, table service. Great view standing or sitting. Having sat in the Center; Row B; with 2 small children, I couldn’t complain. Getting in the venue was no problem, purchasing the parking pass prior to the show made it a breeze to get in. The table service sucked. It was horrible. The food was cold, it took 45 minutes to come out. I was very disappointed in the service. Over all, review of the band & music 10/10, the service 2/10, the venue itself and acoustics 8/10.
I love this band anyway! Their energy, their sets, the perfect synergy when they play together, they get the crowd going! Even sold out the Belasco is great. Minimal lines for bathroom and bars, great bartenders. The opening act should be reconsidered. He’s just not ready for prime time yet.
Fitz & Tantrums never fail to put on an amazing, high energy show. They are by far one of the most fun bands to see live!! The Belasco was meh. Their "VIP" experience was a joke. Paid $40 extra per person to get into a bar area an hour early that was open to GA once the doors opened. Didn't even serve food until the doors opened at 7:00. DO NOT waste your money. Save is to spend on merch so it goes to the band and not to the venue!
Their bonding with the audience was a plus. Show was good. Definitely worth seeing. Venue was great. Great people. Awesome customer service. Just way too crowded for general admission. Charge more admit less people.
I’ve seen Fitz and the Tantrums and few times and this was far and away my favorite time seeing them. They are such captivating performers and have such a great presence. The energy of the crowd was infectious. I wish I could do it all over again. 10/10
The evening was going well at first. Me and my friend had the time of our lives at the beginning. Until we were mislead. We were instructed to enter an area we were not supposed to enter through. We were instructed to go through the backstage area even though we did not have the Igbo credentials (and we had no idea at the time. We were looking for the vip seating.) Anyway, I went down to the floor to adjourn to the patio to smoke and when I returned they said I could not go back up to join my friend even though I was CLEARLY instructed to go up there. The security team had let me up there prior but would not let me return. I spent the whole night trying to get to my friend and was not able to enjoy the show at all. No one was able to help me there entire night. I was very upset on how everything was handled and I hope that in the future that the direction and guidance is relayed in a more clear fashion to stop this sort of thing from happening again.
I saw the band earlier last year at the innings festival and knew I had to see them again! So glad ace of spades / live nation booked them in Sacramento!
