FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:

Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals,  backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just  a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

    Loved everything about this concert!!!

    I never write reviews but this show deserves the praise. I have to admit that we bought these tickets on a whim after a string of Hollywood Bowl concerts this season so that the kids could compare the Greek to the HB. We already knew that we liked Fitz and The Tantrums but hadn't really realized/remembered that we also *loved* Andy Grammer. And nothing could have prepared us for how truly amazing they both/all would be live!!! Just amazing energy and positivity. Not to mention BRELAND... What??!! We'd streamed some of his songs and were a little meh going in, but live he just LIT UP! Such a treat! Combine that with the perfect weather, good seats, and the cozy atmosphere of the Greek and we could not have asked for a better night. The whole family literally loved EVERYTHING about this concert! Only hope the next band we see can live up to the bar that Fitz & Andy & Breland have set...

    Everything was top notch. Great wine, great venue and Fitz and the Tantrums did not disappoint. They are energetic, their lyrics thoughtful and amazing voices. Loved all of it!!

    This concert was amazing and energy filled from the very talented starter band, We 3! Andy Grammer was a shocker to me as to how good he was! I am a fan now and want to hear/see more! Such a positive, upbeat guy! Of course then Fitz did not disappoint! Hit after hit… energetic, and so fun! Great stage, we fell in love with the female sidekick on stage. She was great!

    Andy Grammer has to be one of the realest and truest artist out there. His songs are so raw and real and no matter what you’re going through he has a song for it. His live performances are breathtaking and leave you speechless. This was my 8th show in Washington. Would keep going time and time again. Definitely would recommend him!

    I absolutely love Fitz and the Tantrums! We purposely bought tickets in the back so we could stand and dance the entire concert! Whenever they come back we will be there!

    Went to see Fitz and the tantrums with sandy Grammer. Two awesome acts. Both performed new and old favorites to everyone’s enjoyment. The real stand out for me was the opening act Maggie Rose. WOW what a voice. I mean this girl had some serious pipes. All in all it was an incredibly enjoyable show with perfect weather. Could not have had a better time. Check ‘em out if they come your way.

    Loved the venue at St. Louis Park. Easy parking and get away. Andy Grammer gave a great concert full of great music, great backdrops and his wonderful connection to the crowd of all ages. The kids were dancing in the isle and singing along with him.

    Energy abounds!

    As you can tell by my nickname I’m from the over 50 set but I loved every minute of this concert. Between Breland, Andy Grammar and of course, Fitz and the Tantrums, there was never a dull moment. You were either singing along or moving with the performers. Uplifting and entertaining- You won’t be disappointed.

    I have never seen a bad show from Fitz and the Tantrums. At the 8/6 show, they had everyone on their feet & singing along from the first song. Fitz & Noelle interact so well with each other and the audience. James was amazing as always on the saxophone. One of the best live bands out there!

    Opening acts killed it. Love new hearing a new one, and another great one (Andy Grammer❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️) But FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS, Handsome, one of the best groups out there! Their music resonates with so many people, and is FUN!!!!! Even “I NEED HELP” is the best damn song to jam and sing and feel better!!! My youngest just turned 12. For his birthday, I brought him and 3 of his best buds to their first concert. F&TT absolutely blew their minds!!! I cannot wait to see them again and dance my night away!!! Thank you!!!!

    I went to the concert to see Andy Grammer. He was terrific. The opening act was also great. I did not stay for the last act. I would see him again every time.

    The opening of Andy Grammer was awesome! I enjoyed Honey I’m Good, Fine by Me, and Good to be Alive! He was a great singer and musician! I also like the trumpet solo that he did in one of the songs! I also like seeing Fitz and the Tantrums band! I enjoyed listening to Out of my League, Handclap, and The Walker! They were a wonderful and entertaining band! I really enjoyed the concert! It was so much fun!

    Fitz and Andy Grammer did not disappoint. Fun concert in a smaller venue was amazing. Third time seeing both over the last few years but this was the best having them together. Perfect name for the tour! Was a party!
