FITZ AND THE TANTRUMS IN CONCERT:
Retro indie-pop group Fitz and the Tantrums are keeping the Motown Sound alive and well with their modern take on classic soul and funk. Combining call-and-response vocals, backbeat tambourines, and vintage-inspired instrumentation, the band's electric live shows are equal parts shimmy and shake, inspiring nonstop dance parties as fans sing along to infectious pop masterpieces like "MoneyGrabber" and "Out of My League." Riding high on the success of their sophomore album More than Just a Dream, Fitz and the Tantrums are set to treat fans to another round of unforgettable shows on tour in 2014.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Michael Fitzpatrick formed LA-based Fitz and the Tantrums in 2008 after purchasing a Conn electronic organ -- an instrument that would prove vital in the development of the band's retro sound. The group performed their first show just one week after their first rehearsal, underscoring an effortless chemistry that was readily apparent on their 2009 debut EP Songs for a Breakup, Vol. 1. After touring with Maroon 5 and performing at SXSW, the band signed with Dangerbird Records for their 2010 debut LP Pickin' Up the Pieces. The album landed at No. 1 on the Billboard's Heatseekers Albums Chart, establishing the group as one of the most promising rising talents in indie-pop and paving the way for 2013 sophomore effort More than Just a Dream — a Top 40 hit on the Billboard 200.

Great show! The level of musicianship was very high. Enjoyed the interplay between Fitz & Noelle. This was my first time seeing them live. Opening act Gable Price and Friends were solid. Kudos to the staff at the Echo Lounge and Music Hall.
Great venue, opening band, and headliners sounded as good as if I were listening to their album. Sax player was perfect…tied all the songs together.
Love this band! Especially live, they bring the energy and their song catalog is so incredibly danceable it's contagious! Go see them live for yourself, you won't be disappointed! Can't wait for thier next swing thru Dallas!
First time seeing Fitz and the Tantrums live and was pleasantly surprised by their performance. It was a high energy show with great song selection and the performers pulled the crowd into the show. Will definitely see them again when they come back to St. Louis.
Great show and venue. High energy F&T are amazing!
Definitely better than their opening performance at Chastain last year. Every song was a delight, and it was absolutely thrilling to see Fitz and the Tantrums sing and dance. Don't ever pass up the chance to see this band!
I LOVE this band and see them EVERY SINGLE TIME they are within a couple of hundred miles of here. They were incredible at the 9:30 Club and worth every cent and even the standing for three hours (I'm GenX, so the standing venues are not aimed at me). But Fitz and the Tantrum shows are always energetic, fun, cool, and INSANELY musical. Fitz and Nicole's voices are amazing together, and I think this band is INCREDIBLY underappreciated.
What an amazing performance! One of the best concerts that I’ve attended in a very, very long time. I look forward to seeing Fitz & the Tantrums when they come back to DC, but hopefully at a different venue.
Fitz and the Tantrums did not disappoint. What an amazing show, lots of energy from both the audience and the band. Everyone in the audience was respectful of each other too. 10/10 would HIGHLY recommend seeing them. The venue, The 930 Club, is intimate enough that I was 4 ft from the band all night. Amazing.
