About

Field Guides is the ever-shifting project of Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter Benedict Kupstas, accompanied by an expansive list of collaborators both on record and live. With Ginkgo, the band's third album—after 2014’s Boo, Forever (which The Big Takeover called “sprawling, dense, and mysterious”) and 2019’s This Is Just A Place (which Gold Flake Paint called “one of the year’s most rewarding discoveries”)—Kupstas has created a "profoundly organic indie folk space" (PopMatters), a record "full of beautifully intricate details and crashing waves of melody" (For The Rabbits).

    Small but fantastic show

by Ray on 5/17/23Marquis - Denver

Paul Whitacre and Jack Van Cleaf were fantastic openers, some of the best I’ve ever seen, and Field Guide put on an amazing show. We met Dylan before and after the show and he was a super nice dude!! He even gave my friend a free cd since she went to two of his shows and traveled 12 hours for one.

    Great Show

by Alison H. on 4/25/23The Foundry - Philadelphia

This was a great venue for a smaller show like Field Guide. The opening performances were great, and Field Guide put on an excellent show covering all of his best songs. The audio was right on and the bartender was, too.
