  • Fell far short

by Disappointed on 7/16/24Clarence Brown Theatre, Univ of Tennessee - KnoxvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Orchestra was off from scenes. Accents for characters was far more Russian than anything. Actor portrayal was not accurate. A terrible attempt to what I have seen and enjoyed numerous other times

  • Stellar Cast Carries It Off!

by Dianne on 7/16/24Clarence Brown Theatre, Univ of Tennessee - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I have seen many musicals in my time at Clarence Brown and other venues, and even sitting on the last row, which is very rare for me, I was immersed in the story and music. Thank you, Word Players, , for a delightful experience!

  • An amazing performance!

by Kim on 7/16/24Clarence Brown Theatre, Univ of Tennessee - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

The entire cast was excellent! I saw a traveling Broadway production last year and this local one was so much better. Loved the simpler but evocative set, and the singing and choreography were exceptional. Can’t wait tree next summer’s Word Players show!

  • Great show- COLD Theater

by Doug on 7/15/24Lexington Opera House - LexingtonRating: 5 out of 5

The actual performance was awesome!!! The acting, singing and dancing was quite impressive!!!! The temperature in the front of the theater was extremely cold. We set on row c and even with a long sleeve shirt and sports coat I was cold all night. My wife had a sweater and still froze. I felt sorry for the people around me with short sleeve or sleeveless tops.

  • Fabulous!

by Cathy D on 7/15/24Clarence Brown Theatre, Univ of Tennessee - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

I love the musical Fiddler on the Roof. I know all the lines because I was in our high school performance 51 years ago, and your live performance did not disappoint! All the actors were superb and really into character, especially Tevye (Dan Maxwell). No matter how many times I have seen it, I still cry at the end! An absolutely wonderful evening at the Clarence Brown Theatre!

  • Amazing production

by Shannon on 7/15/24Lexington Opera House - LexingtonRating: 4 out of 5

Amazing production only but is that our tickets were advertised as unobstructed view and we were unable to see the top of the stage which was utilized in a few scenes

  • Superb casting & directing & choreography

by Lindsayt on 7/15/24Clarence Brown Theatre, Univ of Tennessee - KnoxvilleRating: 5 out of 5

From the first notes played by the Fiddler to the entrance of Tevye, we knew we were in for an amazing treat! Tevye adeptly channeled Zero Mostel but also had such a perfect relaxed style. He nailed it! When the Jewish men did their bottle dance at the wedding of Tzeitel & Motel I was blown away! "No! They did not just do that!!" Tevye's Dream scene was hysterical! Bravo cast!!

  • Well Done!

Acting, music, all excellent! Even though a long play, it didn't seem that way.

  • Top Notch Show!

by DH on 7/15/24Lexington Opera House - LexingtonRating: 5 out of 5

What a talented cast, crew and orchestra! Everything was top notch and very well thought out - from the cast, stage set, directors and music. The Sabbath scene was on of the most touching and poignant pieces of theater I have ever experienced. The wild and frenetic dream sequence was a thrill! Beautiful coverage of a piece of history. Thank you!
