It was great, fine cast great orchestra. Theatres in Chicago not made for live theatre. Stages are too low..the seats were close enough but with a tall person in front of me it was difficult to view the stage without moving around
The tickets were a gift to my parents and brother and none of us had been to the Cadillac Palace Theater previously. I was worried since the theater is in Chicago, that we would have difficulty parking, getting around easily and that we would have to deal with long lines. The entire day couldn't have gone smoother. We reserved a spot in a parking lot less then two blocks from the theater and were able to eat beforehand in a nearby restaurant. Entry to the theater was very quick and most importantly the performance was AMAZING. We were all thrilled with the experience and we can't wait to come back.
The music and Sholom Aleichem story, never gets old. The story keeps pulling on your heart strings, and you connect to the characters on a very deep level. The dancing and music are amazing, and like all Jewish stories, humor is part of life and helps take that bitter part of life down. Go watch and relive that part of history.
Wonderful play! The actors did a nice job. The songs and dancing were vibrant. The audience became so engaged that they clapped to the music. It was a delightful evening!

I saw Fiddler on the Roof as a child and was amazed to find I remembered almost all of the songs. The play is as funny and charming I remembered. I understand more of the history now than I did then. The social injustice, religious tension between generations and the propensity of humankind to keep to its own is as relevant as ever. This production and cast were outstanding.
Great musical score, light comedy, family drama that hits home. The audience bonded with the characters and interacted with the dancing. The struggles and joys of family life then and today really hasn’t changed so much.
Fiddler on the Roof is one of my favorite shows. I love the soundtrack, the choreography, and storyline. This show had me grinning and snickering all night! Each group number was greeted with a joyful intensity that had the crowd wanting to join it. At least, I knew I wanted to be a part of it!
Great performances by the actors. Great scenery. Told the story very well.
Best performance of Fiddler we have ever seen. Would highly recommend it to persons of all ages.
My wife and I loved this play. Well done--the cast was superb, and the story brings up so many life topics from marriage & child-rearing to persecution of the Jews. Beautiful play--I could watch this show every year!
I thought the music and acting were top notch. The actor who played Tevye was great! He gave the character a wonderful personality. I was a little bored by the sets. I know that Fiddler is not a play that ever has anything extravagant but I just wanted a little more.
The show was AMAZING! Will definitely be seeing it again!
What a wonderful production! What a joy to see live such a beloved and familiar musical! The cast were terrific, the set clever, the singing and dancing so joyous you couldn't help but clap along as if part of the ensemble! Even the sober reality of the story line couldn't detract from how fun and vibrant this experience was! A true treat.
Very disappointed. Sat in orchestra seats yet still hard to hear. Very poor projection of singers’ voices. Out of date. Not worth the cost, sad to say.
Loved every minute. Choreography was excellent well casted. Would go again when it tours. My kids gave me a ticket on the main floor for Christmas. What a wonderful gift.
Outstanding performance by Tevya and all leads had wonderful voices. The staging and costumes reflected the Stark natureof their small village. A memorable portrayal of a classic musical
"Fiddler on the Roof" Was one of the highlights of attending theatre in Chicago over the past the decades. The actors and actresses were first-rate with the gravitas required to convey the persecution of the times, which sadly, is still relevant today. The three older sisters were especially compelling with singing voices to match each character perfectly. I cannot recommend this rendition of "Fiddler" highly enough. Great direction, performances, and casting all together made for an exceptional date at The Cadillac Palace Theatre. Tradition indeed!
Funny, entertainment, emotional with good taste! Went with my little girl and as Jewish, we enjoyed every moment of the show. The traditions with a bit of spice and humor, absolutely wonderful! Great performance of the actors, especially Yechezkel Lazarov!
