Not a bad seat in the house. We sat first row second level first day and top row on the second day. Both great seats. Note that parking at this event stinks!!! Do yourself a favor. If you are beyond walking distance take an Uber or Lyft. Lots outside would only let you stay till 4pm. That doesn’t work when the matches went till after 5! Ridiculous!
We had a lot of fun. Our problem was the seating. We got on the band wagon very early and many of the best seats were blocked so we had to sit in nose bleed section. View was great except there was the huge TV screen that we had to enjoy the back of it. Could see the floor but could not see the other TV for scoring. Those around us were upset that this did not show on seating chart when tickets were bought. The match A+. The seats -D.
The city of Asheville has hosted this 2 day event for the second year, and can put on quite a celebration! The attendance is good, unlike some other non grand slam tournaments where the arenas are largely deserted. The Only disappointment was that the US team were beaten by Ashley Barty and the rest of the Aussies. 3-2, eliminating the US Team for this year.
The tennis at the US Cellular Center was awesome! I had a great view of the players and comfortable seats. Asheville is very lucky to have such high level players here!
We had a fun time. The facility and amenities were great. The experience was high energy and fun for everyone. There are no bad seats. Everyone was able to enjoy the match.
Venue needs some improvement. Not enough bathrooms, concessions run out of food, ambient temperature not regulated. Fan experience leaves much to be desired. This year horns and a university pep band provided lots of noise not expected at a tennis tournament. 6 hours of this was not enjoyable. Do not allow cow bells , noise makers or horns. Please do not have a band playing “charge” cheers. Times of play not provided until too close tournament time to schedule trip. Website could provide more info
Great atmosphere! Got to see the legend Billie Jean King in the house for the coin toss and the legendary Gladys Knight as well. Oh the tennis was great too.
We enjoyed the tennis and the facility except for the bar. 1) They only had Ginger Ale but no Sprite(7UP} for mixers. I'm sure everyone enjoys a ginger ale ONCE A YEAR but it is a limited mixer. Who was the moron who made that decision. Gin with GAle sucks. 2) They would only allow 1 drink per customer so I can't be a gentleman and get my wife a drink without making 2 trips! How absurd. I would not keep me from going to a separate bar to get more to get drunk on if that was my inclination. My friend and I had to do this so that the 2 of us could bring 4 drinks back to our wives. Mission accomplished but with added aggravation. The bar mistress was also snippy about it. Total Pain in the A__!
I love that this event is in such a wonderful location. What an experience we had and would love for this event to continue in Asheville, NC. It gives us an excuse to visit this wonderful city and enjoy our love of tennis. I hate that we lost; but we will get 'em next time.
The US Cellular Center was a great place to watch tennis. It holds enough people to make the place energized for the match, but it is small enough so that you are close to the action. When we lived in NY we would always go to the US Open. It was great to have professional tennis right here in Asheville!
Great event. Happy to have it so close to home in Asheville. Venue was the perfect size for this. Great atmosphere. Can't wait to attend next year!
Being a part of the tennis Fed Cup in Asheville, NC was a great experience!
Thoroughly enjoyed the venue and the event. I wish that is was a regular stop on the circuit. Really enjoyed legends like Serena and Venus Williams and major up and coming star Coco Vandeweghe in tennis action against the Netherlands. Go Team USA
One of my tennis team friends suggested a road trip to see this first round Fed Cup match -- Asheville is a great town and the Fed Cup doesn't often play close enough to where we live to actually get to see a match in person (the next round is in France) Then in January it was announced that the US team would include Venus and Serena. Woo-hoo! Fun road trip turned into opportunity of a lifetime. Maybe the best moment of all was seeing baby Alexis rooting on her mama in the stands!
It was awesome to experience team tennis the atmosphere was amazing we really enjoyed ourselves
The entire weekend was well organized and beautifully executed. The US Cellular Center was an ideal destination for tennis. More tennis in Asheville Please!!!
Asheville did itself proud with hosting the First Round of the FED Cup. Excellent Atmosphere and a great staff made for a great day!
What a great celebration of sport! In the sometimes reserved world of tennis, it's fun to attend an event that is rowdy! It's fun to keep the normal courtesies during the points but beat drums, blow horns and use noisemakers between the points to support your country's team. Great venue with not a bad seat in the house. Highly recommended!
The Fed Cup was amazing to watch. I was abl to see great matches with Coco, Venus and Serena. What could be more awesome! The stadium had a nice view from every seat. Again it was an awesome weekend!
