About

We knew a little about her life story the first time we ever heard her sing. Long before we learned the details, laid out in her best-selling autobiography turned top-rated Lifetime movie Life is Not a Fairy Tale, we felt her pain and triumph in every note she sang. Whether it was the standards and pop songs that she rode to the winner's circle on the third season of American Idol or the self-crafted emotionally wrought modern R&B off her latest chart topping record Side Effects of You, North Carolina born singer is unable to produce a moment that isn't searingly honest. This becomes imminently clear in her concerts—the star of the Tony award winning The Color Purple and the current musical After Midnight prefers to think of them as "shows," because they have the emotional arc of a Broadway show. And it's a show with plenty of hits, from her inspirational smash debut "I Believe," to the hard-won straight-from-the-streets feminism of 2013's "Without Me." Fantasia has set herself apart by allowing her life experiences to inform her music in unique and surprising ways. That includes the pain for sure, but also her successes, be they on Broadway or touring internationally as either headliner or sharing the bill with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Put simply, Fantasia is the truth, and we are all witnesses.

Anthony Hamilton and Fantasia really tore the house down, but don't they always! It was an awesome concert full of soulful music.

  • Horrible venue

This is a horrible venue. The traffic and parking situation was absolutely horrendous. I will never return. No structure whatsoever. It took me 2.30 minutes to enter the parking lot . I was extremely disgusted. I had to leave halfway through the performance just to get out .

  • Anthony H. / Fantasia

I would like to see some rails going upstairs to the balcony for safety. I totally enjoyed Mr. Hamilton’s energy and really enjoyed him more than I thought I would. I enjoyed the intermission between shows. I really like Fantasia ,but, personally thought she was off her game these are my thoughts. She is my girl all in all

  • Pass

by HF on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 2 out of 5

Sound was horrible, sound over powered the singing, microphone kept going out on both performers, bass was too loud, performers sung more of other artists songs than their songs, my first time seeing fantasia and I was expecting more. She song one popular song, Free Yourself and mostly other artists songs, she left the stage and didn’t realize that was her last song. The seats were uncomfortable. Cameraman was horrible. Fantasia’s DJ was good but he was on stage with her as a hypeman while she was performing. I love Anthony Hamilton but he sung other artists songs. I enjoyed the tribute to DeAngelo.

  • Honest opinion

by Cee Cee on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

Due to the fact that the doors were set to open at 7 but did not the line was over a block long and we were forced to stand & await entrance for 30mins as it began to drizzle. Seats were tight, no space for movement and practically sitting on your neighbors lap. Incorrect numbers for seating caused a major distraction where we missed 30-45 mins of the show because people were sitting in the wrong section. It wasn’t their fault because the numbers on the floor, put there by staff, were incorrect and staff left them knowing they were wrong. We left before the concert was over due to these issues during the concert.

The entertainers were fabulous. The venue was trash! They were late letting us in and the seats were too small.....but the music was great!

by Buttercup on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

I loved everything about this concert from start to finish. We enjoyed Anthony Hamilton, he was phenomenal. Fantasia was the highlight of the show. My daughter and I sat on the second row and was able to see all the close ups and engagement with Fantasia and the fans. We took many pictures for memories. Love, love loved my favorite artist FANTASIA. We will be back next year as always.

  • Concert as a whole was very enjoyable.

by Corazon on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 4 out of 5

The preconcert entertainment was nice. Barton was very entertaining. I probably would have enjoyed him more if the sound system were a little better. I personally didn't know he could sing! Anthony Hamilton put on a good show, but as I mentioned before, the sound system was not the best, which left made it a bit stunted. Now, I love Fantasia! This is the second time I have seen her and she pretty much sang the SAME songs as before, but she really puts on a GREAT show!! My sister and I had a really good time.
