About

We knew a little about her life story the first time we ever heard her sing. Long before we learned the details, laid out in her best-selling autobiography turned top-rated Lifetime movie Life is Not a Fairy Tale, we felt her pain and triumph in every note she sang. Whether it was the standards and pop songs that she rode to the winner's circle on the third season of American Idol or the self-crafted emotionally wrought modern R&B off her latest chart topping record Side Effects of You, North Carolina born singer is unable to produce a moment that isn't searingly honest. This becomes imminently clear in her concerts—the star of the Tony award winning The Color Purple and the current musical After Midnight prefers to think of them as "shows," because they have the emotional arc of a Broadway show. And it's a show with plenty of hits, from her inspirational smash debut "I Believe," to the hard-won straight-from-the-streets feminism of 2013's "Without Me." Fantasia has set herself apart by allowing her life experiences to inform her music in unique and surprising ways. That includes the pain for sure, but also her successes, be they on Broadway or touring internationally as either headliner or sharing the bill with Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli. Put simply, Fantasia is the truth, and we are all witnesses.

Got great seats to the concert and it didn't disappoint at all!!

  • Concert is the reason for the 5 stars

by Tae on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

Concert was great that's why I gave it a 5. But the venue itself 1 of the worst venues I've ever been to. From having to walk blocks down to line up to get in, to getting to the doors where there's only 4 doors open. To the seating horrible a whole other thing. Uncomfortable and how to get to your seats is a whole other thing. Probably will never come back to this venue again.

  • Fantasia And Anthony Hamilton

I enjoyed the concert. My second time seeing Fantasia and my first time seeing Anthony Hamilton.

  • Venue

by Vanessa on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

The artists were great. The lighting during the Anthony Hamilton show was absolutely horrible. I could not enjoy the show for the extremely bright flashing lights, which caused me not to see the artist. During Fantasia's show, the mic output was bad during first 15 minutes and intermittent. The lighting was bad and I was not able to see her clearly through smoke and bad lighting.

  • Very uncomfortable chairs

by Ree on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 5 out of 5

My experience at the concert was Amazing! Both Anthony Hamilton were Phenomenal! However, the balcony seating was terrible as for as space. The seats are super small and there is no room to walk pass to get to your seat if people are already sitting.

  • Seats and drinks

The performers were awesome. The drinks were over priced and the seats were terrible. The seats are extremely small and tight.

  • Mid at best

by Jacqui on 11/4/25Credit Union 1 Arena at UIC - ChicagoRating: 3 out of 5

First it was freezing in the venue which made the experience unpleasant. No attendants to keep people from standing on the stairs or in the walk way looking the view. Anthony Hamilton was great did 2 hrs all the hits and then some. FantasiA was ok not as energized as the chips from other shows ive seen. Maybe did 45minutes at best

The concert was Amazing, both performers were amazing. I would certainly see them both again. However NEVER EVER AGAIN SEEING ANYTHING AT CREDIT 1 ARENA. Parking was horrible, and entering the venue was awful. The staff was very unconcerned all had attitudes as if no one wanted to work. Very unpleasant experience with the venue .

  • Bad sound system and the seating was very uncomfortable

  • Great preformers

by Sunflower on 10/27/25Scope Arena - NorfolkRating: 4 out of 5

The stars were doing well of what I could hear, maybe not have it so cold in the place, also adjust the spotlight up instead of directly on the audience, light was so bright and shining on us we could hardly here the stars.... And the sound was off completely, it was a echo.... really bad echo. I have been to the scope a lot of times but this time the sound was off totally, Could hear the stars ... please adjust
