Brought back memories of the unforgettable tv show

by lastchance on 8/7/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

This show was really cute. They worked hard to give a great presentation. I thought the message was genuine. I am not one for fighting crowds or paying huge amounts for a show so this was perfect. My beautiful dancer daughter (9 years old) and her dancer friend were with me. Although some scenes were more for adults it was far from over the top. I originally got the tickets for her so that she can see in person how it looks to create the type of song and dance she loves when she get older. Thanks for a nice show.

    Awesome Fame

    by DollBaby3 on 8/6/09Tropicana - Atlantic City

I don't know what show Amwest and Cackie were watching, but I saw Fame the same night and I thought that it was awesome. The singing was great and the dancing was even better. Maybe Amwest and Cackie were expecting to see Les Miserables or Rent. This was a lighthearted show and wonderfully performed. I recommend it for everyone.

Fame was the worst show I've seen in AC

by amwest on 8/3/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

I've been to hundreds of shows in AC, including many plays. This was terrible. The dancing was sub par and the story was so abriviated it was difficult to follow.

    Amateurish but enjoyable

by Cackie on 8/2/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

Fame was okay- less professional than the other shows we have seen in Atlantic City. But, it was enjoyable to watch the singing and dancing. Show was somewhat fragmented.

Loved the movie, so had to see this show! Great spin on the original story - same hopes and dreams with different cast names and songs. A great, inexpensive night of entertainment with a great, talented cast!!!!

    Dancing was great in Fame

by DancerOne on 7/27/09Tropicana - Atlantic City

I own a dance studio and was very impressed with the dancing of your performers. I applaud Choreograher Tony Mansker and the electrifying dance movements of Tenealle, Ariel, Tonya, Ricky, Saleem, Mindy, Patrick, Tricia, Kara, Tommy, and Sophia. I have already brought certain students of mine to see the show. It's refreshing to see such hard working young people!

Way to go AMDA and FAME

by AMDAGIRL on 7/25/09Tropicana - Atlantic City

As an AMDA grad, I was proud to see all the cast members from AMDA that were in FAME. When I saw the show, I was even prouder of the fantastic job they did. Great job - Jonathan, Ariel, Tonya, and Mindy. If I left anyone out, I apologize. I'm nervous and excited. The show has a lot of energy and feeling. Everybody must see this show! ALso, RTG Productions gave the show a bad review as I read through all the reviews. But they are a rival talent agency and really should not be allowed to make any comments. It's very unprofessional.

    FAme

by MsCorp on 7/22/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

Great show. It was lively, the dancing, the music and the acting. We loved "Vegas" especially with that crooked smile. I took my daughter for her 9th Birthday and she loved it. It was a bit more mature than her HSM but the tunes carried her thru the confusion of the story line. For me it was a sweet reminder of one of my favorite TV shows from years ago. We will try to get to see it again before it ends as well as get the music.

    FAME

by MisterBigShot on 7/18/09TROPICANA - ATLANTIC CITY

I came from Philadelphia with my wife and 3 girls to see FAME at the Tropicana. We come every year to see the shows. This was by far the best production that they've ever done. It was like watching the BEST OF "So You Think You Can Dance" and "Amercian Idol”, circa the 1980's. The performers really captured the nature of the 1980's. We all tremendously enjoyed the show. As far as the individual performances, we all thought that each one was perfectly cast. We were a little concerned when we found out that the understudy was going to go on for Ms. Bell. But the understudy was phenomenal. The duet she sang with the English teach was the highpoint of the show for us. The English teacher was great and had an overpower voice. Yet the understudy matched her note for note. Again, I applaud the director for his/her cast decisions. When we got back home, my girls contacted the music teacher at their high school to see if they can do FAME as their high school musical for 2010. We are definitely going again and may even bring the girl's high school music teacher with us. Thank you to the cast and directors for a great night!

    Must See!!

by Screenink on 7/16/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

The show was so much better than I had anticipated. They should bring it to Broadway. I absolutely loved it!

    Not Broadway

by Embajador on 7/16/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

OK, but not Broadway quality. Dragged at times. Worst part was the audience who thought they were home watching TV and talking the whole time. AC is a low class place and that's what is to be expected. Also, there are no reserved seats so everyone is squished in one section of the theater, which was otherwise largely empty.

    Fame Had Spunk

by Redsnatti on 7/16/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

I was not a big fan of the TV show, but I thought I'd check out this version when I was in Atlantic City. I got to see the opening night show and I was impressed. The ensemble numbers were the most entertaining and had the most energy. I expected there to visible and audible flaws, but it looked pretty smooth. Nice diversion from the casinos and a good value for $25

    Fame was surprisingly good!

by me15 on 7/16/09Tropicana Showroom - Atlantic City

To my surprise the off Broadway production of Fame was GREAT! The performance at the Tropicana is a must see if you are in Atlantic City. Definitely worth the trip.
