Mostly great!
by RossRaleigh on 10/7/15The Theater at Madison Square Garden - New YorkTwo things prevented ESL One NYC from being a truly amazing experience. There were multiple technical issues that was both an inconvenience and gravely affected scheduling (nothing started on time, the finals became a Bo3 as a result). The other issue was the after party being garbage, with VIP's not getting to meet any of the Pro's. That said. Pros: -- The announcers were FANTASTIC -- The crowd's energy was unreal from beginning to end. We may be a crummy community online, but IRL you couldn't find a better group. -- Some terrific teams that played very well. -- PPD commentating the final game was AWESOME! Suggestions: -- More interaction with Pro's. They can either interact directly with the crowd or take part in analysis/commentary like PPD did. -- Secret Shop items that were ESL exclusive. Even just one or two would have been fine. -- MSG was a very very cool venue but also very expensive; something to consider. -- COME TO RALEIGH! -- Interaction and information with the community before hand needs to be MUCH better. That whole cosplay contest should have been heavily promoted months before. It would have had an overall more profound impact on the event.
