About

Erykah Badu, one of the world’s most revered singers, is widely credited as being the godmother of neo-soul. Badu’s blend of hip-hop swagger and smooth jazz draws inspiration from Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Chaka Khan, and has earned her a total of four Grammy nominations. Pitchfork described the four-time Grammy Award-winning artist’s 1997 debut album Baduizm as an “existential anchor of the neo-soul movement.” The triple-platinum album debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200, and lead single “On & On” won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance at the 1998 Grammy Awards. Badu’s enduring legacy was cemented on the road, where she has sung to sold-out crowds on multiple worldwide tours. The R&B legend has released five critically-acclaimed studio albums, and has been featured on hit songs by Busta Rhymes, Macy Gray and Janelle Monáe.

  • Pretty Good

by mel on 7/26/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Voice was 5 stars. Erykah delivered. BUT show was kind of slow and there were no screens where she was projected for anyone sitting far away. If you weren't up close, you could barely see her. We didn't even have bad seats and it was a struggle to see her. There were 2 opening acts. 1st started on time. 2nd was Mos def and I just expected more. 3 star performance for him. Overall enjoyed it but could have been better.

  • Dissapointed

    by Neo-Soul lover on 7/26/23Rating: 1 out of 5

My Wife and I were expecting a really great show being that this was the last one and in her hometown. We saw different people featured in other cities so we knew this tour would end with a bang. After waiting 20/30 mins after Mos Def finished his set and another 10/15 min band interlude..Erykah came out and pretty much played her beat machine throughout the show. Didn't finish any of her hit songs. I still love her music but I wont be at anymore live concerts.

  • Great Show!

by Lisette on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I loved the show! Erykah sang her ass off and Yasmin Bey put on a wonderful show! Only recommendation would be to have a big screen on the stage so that folks can see.

  • One of the greatest performers of our generation!

by Myles on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The energy, the art, the atmosphere, everything about this concert was perfect. People from their teens to their seventies all came to see her. Not many people can do such a thing. Ms. Badu’s soulful style blended with her comical and bright personality made the show incredibly enjoyable and entertaining, and captures you for the entire time she is on stage. If I could see her again right now, I would.

  • OUTSTANDING

by Lem on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

It was my first time seeing She Badu! I HAD A BLAST! I adored everything! She is one the rare artists that sounds better live than on the recording! She is authentically herself! Her vocals were MAGNIFICENTLY FLAWLESS! I wish the concert (her portion) specifically was longer but what she gave was FIYA!

  • Money wasted

    by T9256da on 7/26/23Rating: 1 out of 5

Two terrible open acts ,drum solo for 20 minute before she came out 10pm 45 minutes performance and couldn't see her from seats very disappointed

  • What's cooler than being cool? Ice Cold!

by Mrs. IkeBeeMe on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Amazing wasn't even it... Erykah Badu was phenomenal. She is a great performer and I'd go again next year, if she comes. Floor seats gave us a close & personal experience. Our seats were easy to find, staff was cool and the entire vibe was laid back. Her fans were pleasant and we all were just vibing... no drama, no nothing! Just love, peace and groovin!

by Kat CharlieD on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

I have never been to a show that’s been more fun than this. I knew this would be an experience and it truly was. I felt different after leaving, in a good way.

  • Loved her sooo much!

by Mealika on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Her voice is amazing. Her visual artistry is amazing. Yasiin Bey still sounds the same as well. Was disappointed he didn't do Umi says, I still enjoyed his set nonetheless.

  • Absolutely beautiful

by Kryss on 7/26/23Rating: 5 out of 5

Last night was genuinely MAGICAL! I had a great time. Yasiin Bey and Erykah Badu know how to put on a show! The music, the lighting, the aura, the vibes, it was AMAZING!!!

  • Erykah never disappoints!

by Mphsshortee on 7/25/23Rating: 5 out of 5

We had the fortune to see Erykah Badu for the 2nd time, and as expected, she didn't disappoint us. Her show is always great! Now, to be honest, Yasiin Bey (Mos Def) was Mos Boring. He has no stage personality at all. Most people were sitting around, looking at their phones, waiting for Erykah...so were we! I highly recommend the show, but unless you are a Mos Def fan, mos definitely don't rush to get there to hear him.

  • Excellent

It was the best Birthday ever!!!! Had the time of my life.

  • Absolutely Amazing!!

    by K. Lowery on 7/25/23Rating: 5 out of 5

The show was amazing!! It would have been doubly nice if the option to order food/drinks from our seats was available but other than that, not one complaint!! It great!

  • Long wait not great

by Musiquefiend on 7/25/23Rating: 3 out of 5

Badu is a very creative artist, as a whole the band is solid/banging awesome. She should not have Mos Def aka Yasmin Bey opening for her. He was not entertaining, just freakin disconnected to anything I've ever heard/seen. Did not enjoy him at all, stayed on stage 3 hours, for what?! She came out after about an hour+, that was horrible as the stage was reset for her very quickly. Why the wait? Not professional or considerate. No apology, no explanation why you took your time to come to the stage. The music to the songs were revamped which I'd rather hear them in their original radio/CD format. I've been a fan since the beginning of her first recordings but don't think I will go back to see her, periodt! I'm just one person but others around me felt the same way too. Stage light show out of space show was doing too much. Come back down to earth. I need to be high or something to relate to her new show but, I don't indulge, I am happy the way I am. Bye Lowdown Loretta Brown. Next lifetime to ya'. Hasta la vista baby

Ms. Badu is EVERYTHING! One of the best shows I’ve ever been to! It was an amazing experience!

  • Not that good

by West on 7/24/23Rating: 2 out of 5

The first two acts was trash and eryka could have had better stage presence and what’s with all the damn drums routines. Overall an 5 for me don’t have to see her again respectfully.

  • Outstanding
