    Burdon Still Rocking

by MattyK2000 on 10/1/18Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - Warren

With an energetic young backup band, Eric Burdon still injects his soul into American classics, especially those of early legends like Bo Diddley, Lead Belly, Randy Newman, Carole King and others. His command of these songs is heartwarming, and one gets chills with his 60's hits like "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" (first recorded by Nina Simone, finally in the Hall of Fame) and "Don't Let Me Down". Eric engages the audience, and lets them slip gently into the past, when lower middle class white English kids embraced American Black music long before any white Americans did, and came to places like Harlem and Chicago to see and visit THEIR idols. "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" reminded us of Vietnam (again), where 60,000 American kids died for the politicians, and now many go for vacation in their Made in Vietnam clothes. What have we learned since Eric took the stage in 1964 to sing about misery in New Orleans? God bless Eric Burdon.

Great show with icon of rock and roll. Aging a bit but the power of the voice is still coming through. Great band and the songs you'll love to hear.

Couldn't wait to see Eric Burdon & The Animals in Chicago... And of course they played all The Animals & War classics, and left the eternal message of "Peace, Love, & Happiness."

    Eric Burdon nails it

by yutzpuppy on 11/23/15Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - Warren

Eric Burdon and his band performed a great show at the Andiamo Showplace in Warren, Mi. The band played a tight set for about 75 minutes or so, touching on a lot of great Animals songs and some of Eric's own works. As the evening wore on, Eric warmed up. His voice is still pretty good considering he's been using it to please listeners for several decades. It was a well worth it evening. Not a lot a banter with the crowd, but I was there for the music. Eric and his band were outstanding. The only downside, I wished it would have lasted longer. The venue, Andiamo Showroom, left some to be desired. The showroom was packed in, small tables, chairs (uncomfortable) crammed together, no legroom at all. Unfortunately, our seats were in the back of the showroom and we had to watch the entire set on a video screen. The stage appeared to be slightly higher than floor level, should be higher so those in the "steerage" section can actually see the performer. The tables were all on a flat surface, so we could only see the heads of the performers unless someone in the crowd in front of us moved a little. My wife is on the small side, and sitting behind a large man, she could not see the stage, except for the lights. That aspect was very disappointing. The sound was good though. Very low marks for the place that claims they are one of the Midwest's best venues.

    Great Show by Eric Burdon!

by SweetMichigan on 11/16/15Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - Warren

Eric Burdon may be getting older but you would not know it by his voice and his energy. He sounds about the same as he did in the 60s and, man, did he look like he was having a good time! He played a lot of his popular songs. Eric put on a very good show and even came out for two encores! I would recommend this show to anyone who enjoys the music of the 60s. What a great evening!

Eric Burdon and co. were fantastic and amazing!

by Ellen12345 on 11/16/15Andiamo Celebrity Showroom - Warren

This show was unforgettable! All of the musicians were amazing! They played our old favorites along with new. After all these years, Eric has still got it and making more. I picked up his new album 'Til Your River Runs Dry and it's great, too. I heard on XM's 60's on 6 that he has a great show and to see him when possible and they were right. Eric and the Animals were my favorite (and still are) and it was an honor to see him up close and personal at the Andiamo Celebrity Room in Warren, MI. Nobody asked me to write this review, I am happy to! Thanks Mr. Burdon and your amazing band.

    Great Show

Vocals and Instrumentals were great. Andiamo's sound levels were well balanced. Burton's voice, at age 70+, was still great.

    Worth the trip

by NetsNetsNets on 10/25/13Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

I had a ticket to the show at nearby Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank in August, but I got stuck at work and could not attend. Reluctantly, I bought another ticket to the Bergen PAC show in Englewood on 10/22 to make up for missing that first show. I had never been there before and did not know the area, but I made the trip anyway. It's a nice venue, the parking situation is good, getting in and out of the arena was simple. I would consider going there again. As far as Eric Burdon goes, he was sensational. I had seen him once before in 2002. Whereas some of his contemporaries can't sing like they used to, Eric has still retained his booming voice. He brings a lot of energy to the show, and a great sense of humor. He clearly seems to be enjoying himself, and the crowd seemed to enjoy the show too. He does lots of Animals songs, and some from his solo career too. Highly recommended.

Eric Burdon and band were fantastic

by MHJake on 10/25/13Bergen Performing Arts Center - Englewood

My husband and I so much enjoyed Eric Burdon and his band of professional musicians. What I didn't care for AT ALL was the band that played before them, "Frankenstein 3,00" or something like that. The music was loud, head banging awful music, could not understand one work of what was being sung. A front band should have reflect the main event, Eric Burdon because the people they came to see Eric Burdon came for his style of music not some crap for 20 year olds. You wanted my opinion you got it....

The venue, the artist, and the music melded

by Anonymous on 10/18/13Saban Theatre - Beverly Hills

I passed up an opportunity to see this icon of the British Invasion about 15 yrs. ago. When this concert came, I jumped on it. My 20 something daughter marveled at the vibe created

    He still has it!

by jenjen53 on 10/14/13Saban Theatre - Beverly Hills

At 72, he still has it. The concert was a mix of oldies and songs off his new album. He gave each person in his band a chance to shine and they all did. . There was a part in the middle of the show when he had one of the guitar players accompanying him in R&B. It was only him and the guitarist. Everyone else went off stage. It was a really good segment. The flute/organ player was great also. He started out with "When I Was Young" and ended with "House of the Rising Sun". I was so pleased that he did "It's My Life", which is my personal favorite song of his.

    A MUST SEE!

by CaryC on 10/14/13Saban Theatre - Beverly Hills

A must see show! I had not seen Eric Burdon in over 20 years and throughly enjoyed the performance at the Saban Theater. The Saban Theater is beautiful and an excellent venue. Not a bad seat on the first floor in this small and intimate theater. The show had the usual mix of covers and new songs all performed with a terrific band including original member John Steel. I was plesently surprised at the performance of Eric Burdon. Although age prevents some of the high key vocals, Eric Burdon compensates with an enegetic performance with the audience. Clearly a more comfortable place then the "'stick figure" front man of the 60's. Although the new songs are wonderful it was the classic original Animals's songs that got the audience dancing in the isles. I would love to see him team up on a bill with other classic bands like Paul Revere, Turtles, Cowsills, etc!
