Great experience buying tickets. Great experience at the show. NO COMPLAINTS. ALL SMILES :-)
Seats tight, people were seating where they wanted, show started late, wasn't organized, just wasn't a great show at all and i love my old school hip hop.
The seating had an issue. They said the computer had a mishap. I bought a balcony ticket and got lower level. Funkmaster Flex was a great warm up set. Then you had to wait almost an hour to get first act out. The sound was oK. By the time Eric B & Rakim got on stage it was 11pm. I was shocked to see Governor Murphy in the entourage. I left close to 12 midnight to get public transit back to Newark
The show was phenomenal! I had front row seats and the crowd had great energy. The performers were on top of there game & lived up to their stage presence and history in the hip hop genre!
I am a true hip-hop old-school fan!! However, there were too many intermissions that lasted too long for the show... Which will go later into the evening As hip-hop artist they should not have long intermissions it’s not like they have to clean the whole stage for new equipment they just have to change the computer for the DJs. that’s it. Also I found a distraction they were just too many people on the stage. I don’t know if they were family, friends, fans but they were all around the stage and that was such a distraction and tacky. I think the hip-hop artist on stage did a phenomenal job and the music took me way back in memories but overall I just think it could’ve been a lot better. Plus Ticketmaster sold different tickets that were confusing on the seating when you were up in the balcony they had the Loge blocked off so they started it with another letter which was different than what was on your ticket. Very unfair. I’m giving it 3 stars because I enjoyed the artist and the DJs!
Excellent show! It showcased EXACTLY why old school hip hop is & always be the best! Lyrics & beats by people who were never in to it for the money but the love of hip hop!
Despite the show starting over an hour late and the opening act sucking, Eric B and Rakim were amazing! Rakim Allah changed the game and will forever be my favorite MC.
Excellent Entrance and entertainment great service
A reunion that needed to happen. After a late start and an opening act that got full Apollo Theater treatment, the audience was in good hands with PZB, who got the party started. Eric B and Rakim were worth the wait. Rakim's voice is in sublime form, and with Eric B's tight tracks the audience was transported to the exciting 80s scene. Watching the talented Damont Pinder create an original portait of the duo during the show was a bonus. Great audience, total party.
The floor seats/standing room only were perfect for this performance. (And you cant beat the price) The venue also played a part in making it such a good show. It was definitely small enough for these performers to make it seem intimate. They rocked the crowd like they always do. Rakim sounded dope and Eric B should be president. For a rap duo who’s been around since ‘86 they can definitely show some artists now a thing or two.
I liked when Dougie Fresh was preformed. Especially when he did the Beatbox for like 3 to 7 minutes. Eric B and Rakim did thier damn thing. JM and lil Cease loved it.
Rakim straight b boy stance put the crowd in a trans and made us clap to his melody. banging show. Brought out Corey Wise Central Park 5. Emotional moment. The music and the presence of the God MC really took us back to real hip hop and it was urgent. I’d come back.
Unforgettable sensational best time of my life had so much fun and was blessed enough to see all the GOATS live!
Over 20 years later and they still haven’t missed a beat...Dope show!
Roxanne Shante’ was hot , but the headliners Slick Rick & Doug E Fresh was straight fire listening to “The Show & Ladi Dadi live was everything then the God MC Rakim came on & brought me back to the 80’s ,he’s one of the best to ever do it
I paid to have a good time. I was not disappointed. Dougie fresh beat box was a little bit too long but that's what he's there for
I paid extra money to sit in the front to see the concert. The entire back of the audience rushed the stage when it started. Security Personnel never instructed the crowd to sit down. So I paid extra to ensure I had a view but the venue didn't do their part to make sure I enjoyed it.
Priceless Hip Hop moments. I can't wait for the next show!
Love the Amphitheater sound system is good and uts alwats a civilized crowd
