The House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay Las Vegas we’re an hour late opening the doors. That fact started to kill the vibe but once inside, the sounds of classic Hip-Hop music brought everything back to speed. Yo-Yo was the opener. She rocked the crowd with help from her DJ and Flavor Flav. Rakim was EPIC! Well worth the wait. It was good to see Eric B & Rakim together again. Flavor Flav joined them on the stage as well.
Hour and a half late! Unacceptable! I felt horrible for the dj. She built some great energy in between acts, but it was all lost by the time they came on. Additionally, rakim barely rapped any popular songs, instead letting the crowd do it for him.
The show was "AMAZING" Yo-Yo came out and did her thing and Eric B and Rakim shut it down. They both put on a GREAT SHOW!!!
Over two hours of not Eric B and Rakim and only one hour of them. Literally had the DJ play songs (no mixing) for thirty minutes. They sounded great but cut Mahogany and My Melody short. Also didn't do Follow the Leader.
You couldn't hear the artists lyrics! A rap concert where you can barely make out the lyrics is a dance with music. The sound system needs work.
Great venue...Great sound system...Great crowd...Great setlist...Great performance. Well worth the ticket price.
If you weren't there, you MISSED OUT!! Had many special appearances. The GOD MC did his thing!
The show was dope, from beginning to the end. I just loved how the crowd was into the show and of course the was no violence. This is the reason I go to age appropriate shows. Them Dapper Dan jacket and coat Rakim and Eric B wore were fly. Congratulations on your 30 years. Many Hip Hop or I should say rappers today can't say that they will last this long.
Eric B. and Rakim did not disappoint in any way. It was amazing to see them together again after so many years and they flowed like they've never been apart. The only reason it's not a 5 star review is because I wasn't into the opening act. And I love that it was at The Ritz. That venue is large enough to pack a crowd but small enough to make you feel close enough to the action from anywhere.
One of the best shows I've ever gone to. They did all of my favorites.
The show was amazing. Took me back to my middle school days. Meeting them after the show made the night complete.
Rakim's music is timeless and his has only gotten better on stage. CLASSIC.
The gratitude and love that Rakim expressed was humbling. He's a legend and a gracious performer and they made us feel like a part of their extended family. Worth every single penny.
I love old school hip hop!! The show was amazing from beginning with YoYo as the opening act. She still can rhyme, freestyle and move!! Rakim took no breaks between songs unlike how some artist do today. I had the opportunity to do a meet and greet which cost $100 for 2 people to take a picture with Eric B and Rakim. They were so nice!! The show was sold out, the crowd was nice. If you truly love hip hop go and treat yourself!! Would definitely go again!! What more can I say great performance for 30th anniversary!! Hip hop forever!!
It was a dope show. Good vibes. Sharice and ladies at the Foundation room door were beyond amazing. Sex in da Hood was hands down the best drink. Thanks ladies for making our night better.
Eric b is a horrible DJ. Kept messing up Rakims timing and making the GOAT last look like an amateur. They came on late and the set list was shortened because of it.
This event reminded me of a baseball or football game. Better watched (or listened to) at home. Rakim did a great job, but there was some obvious fatigue between the two.
Yo-yo was a great choice to open. I've not heard her before but was glad to catch her. To invoke images of past queens of rap like mc lyte, salt n pepper, and queen latifa really put to shame to trashy female rappers of today. Props go out to her. 30 years after fresh fest and my last time seeing them, Rakim was a presence in the stage. Not missing a beat, rhymes just coming and no stumbles. No first night jitters. Eric b was spinning the wheels and created smooth blends of sounds and head pounding bass that should be reserved for cruising the strip. Head boppin, throat clearing, hand waving times were had by many. I hope to See more shows like this one soon.
Me & my Man Had Such a Amazing Time it was Good seeing them guys back together and also having YO YO there as well Brought back childhood memories all in all A Great Wonderful Night
