ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Worth the Wait!

    by jend420 on 9/6/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have waited over 15 years to see Erasure again. It was just as fun and energetic as expected. Center Stage in Atlanta was a close venue without a bad seat. They played all the favorites, and the few I didn't know made we want to seek out the newer albums I've missed.

  • Awesome.. Blast from the 80s

Great concert... Small venue made it feel like a high school gym but still fun...

  • Erasure at The Center Stage in Atlanta

by StevenGC on 9/6/11The Center Stage - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

After years and years of listening to Erasure and seeing them only once before in the True Colors tour, it was my first chance to see them live as the headlining act. True to expectations they put on a show that kept the sold out crowd on their feet and screaming for more. It was an excellent mix of their classic hits along with tracks from the upcoming release. Andy and Vince (plus backup singers) put on a show i will never forget. Highlights included sing along versions of Stop, Drama and Blue Savannah plus the new tracks from their upcoming album. A rowsing good time was had by everybody. Thanks Vince and Andy and crew.

  • Best show ever!!!!!!

by SmyrnaMom on 9/6/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What a great venue. General admission but we got there early enough for great seats. Not a bad seat in the house. Now the show...Erasure sounds better than ever. How is that possible after all these years???!!! Andy looked awesome and I loved Vince's tribute to Dragon Con by donning fun ears. The crowd...amazing, all colors, ages, creeds, sexual orientation, etc. This was my 3rd show. Two previous ones were seen in NYC...but this was by far the best. Thank you, Erasure for being so timeless.

  • erasure was better in person than on disc.

I already loved the music but appreciate it more now knowing that it sounds the same or better in person.

  • What a Show!

by MissAlpharetta on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

What a show, what a crowd. I was so entertained by Andy's vocal performance....his moves...his clothing choices. Vince had band aids on his bloody fingers...poor dear! He kept playing as though everything was fine....he played the guitar and the keyboard beautifully..God bless him! Erasure still has it!!! Sounded as great live as recorded! Loved the intimate venue! It was fabulous!!!!

  • Andy Bell blew me away!!!

Phenomenal show! Andy may be getting up there in years but put on an unbelievable performance! Loved every minute of it!

  • Erasure Was Amazing!!!

by BlairScott on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Erasure put on an amazing show as always. Andy still has an amazing voice and Vince was on target as usual. His surprise acoustic sets were awesome. It was a great blend of new songs and incredible classics that brought the house down! It's been a while since I've danced at a concert and Erasure got me out of my seat and waving my hands around like I was back in high school in the 1980's. GENADM means sit where you want (or can) at Center Stage. Since this is a relatively small venue (compared to others), that works just fine. If you want a good seat or to be on the floor, then show up early! We arrived almost two hours early and were able to get center seats looking directly at the stage.

  • Erasure was fab!

by Anonymous on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Andy was amazing and full of such energy. Could have gone on for hours with more great music. Vince was great as always. Terrific venue, not a bad seat anywhere. Opening act....Frankmusik was awful! Wrong music show for Erasure audience. Lead singer needs help with wardrobe and each song was maybe 3 lines and nothing but repeating the same thing over and over and over, and nothing but repeating the same thing over and over and over, and nothing but repeating the same thing over and over and over. Boring and not high energy, sounded like poor attempt to try to be cool and rap which was nothing but repeating the same thing over and over and over.

  • Erasure was amazing !!

by LeBon on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Andy's voice is just as amazing as it was in the 80's!! Very talented man. Vince actually smiled several times which was a great pleasure to see. KEEP SMILING !!! Overall brought back fond memories and I will treasure this concert forever ! I will be an Erasure fan for life!

  • Erasure's latest concert is great.

by Rrrx on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Some new songs, which were good, but some great classics that brought the audience to their feet.

  • Awesome concert!!!

by dcjimmy on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I am SO glad we went to see this concert, Andy and Vince ROCKED. The opening acct Frankmusik was decent too! (But his stuff starts to sound all the same after a few songs). Erasure did an amazing job, mainly all their hits over the years; out of the new songs I really enjoyed 2 of them, looking forward to the new album.

  • Awesome show!

by ronmatl on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

Seriously one of the best concerts I've ever attended. He crowd was high energy non-stop dancing. Andy and Vince just rocked the house. 5 star show!

This show was small, intimate, but full of entertainment. Erasure is a great show!! If you can make, it will be worth it.

One of my favorite shows of all time. Top 5, for sure.

  • Erasure: Dream Come True

by Gracekelly on 9/5/11Center Stage Theatre - AtlantaRating: 5 out of 5

I have been a long time fan, but was never able to see them for various reasons. We enjoyed ourselves very much at the concert, and were especially glad to be next to the stage; close enough to shake Andy's hand! They were on top form, performing their classic pieces along with new music. The opening band, Frankmusik was AMAZING. They gained two new fans in us that night and we look forward to hearing more from them.

What a FANTASTIC show!! The boys looked and sounded great, and the background vocalists were A-MAZING!! The energy throughout was palpable, and I loved every minute.
