ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

This was a great show I have seen them around 12 times in all types of venues and this time it was perfect. The lights Andy sounded great as always and his back up singers were amazing. Vince was doing his thing and was also entertaining. The sound levels were also great not to loud and Andy's voice was not over powered at all. The crowd was what you would expect and Drama free. If you do ever get a chance to see Erasure do it!

Awesome concert. These guys still sound great and bring lots of energy to the stage even though they are in their 50's now. Love their new album also. Great mix of a few new songs with a bunch of their original hits! Highly recommend this show to any erasure fan

  • Awesome music and dancing...

Great event with the hits and two good ones from their new album. Great value!

  • Erasure still Rocks!

When seeing an older band you never know how they will sound. Unfortunately age can do a lot to a singers voice, but not in this case. The sound was amazing, both guys looked to be in great shape. Their music is so catchy that even their new songs were easy to get into and dance. We had a great time. The venue was on the smaller side which was nice since my tickets were in the back row. The only problem was it was HOT in there. It felt as though there was no air conditioning whatsoever.

No seats, super crowded but so much fun. Erasure played a lot of their greatest hits and some songs I never heard of before

  • Enjoyable but original recordings are better

We went to see Erasure for sentimental reasons, having been fans of their music since the late eighties. Their songs A Little Respect, Sometimes, Always, Love to Hate You all bring back wonderful memories of going clubbing and having a great time with friends. Now it's 25 years later and while the performances of Andy Bell and Vince Clark are still impressive, their music just doesn't sound as good live as it did back then in the clubs or on radio. That's okay though, it was worth attending just to see Andy Bell in sparkly hot pants, singing his heart out. The sound during singing was good but when he was speaking the audio seemed very quiet in comparison. Overall, the show was enjoyable and if it wasn't for some people pushing and shoving, it would have been brilliant. I would have preferred to not have an opening act and the show starting on time. We had to wait until past 9 p.m. for Erasure to come out (advertised 8 p.m. show time) which is a common occurrence at concerts these days but highly irritating.

  • ERASURE HAS STILL GOT IT!

by sjcdude on 11/4/14Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

I was worried a little since the band is up there in years, but I have to say I was pleasantly surprised when the first number started and the lead singer belted out the vocals that have made him. I enjoyed the show and am so glad I had the opportunity to see them live.

  • Erasure put on an amazing show!!

by RockerKiki on 11/4/14Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

30 years later, Erasure sounded just as good as ever! The light show was spectacular, the sound quality was great, and it was a fun, high energy performance! Two back up singers were phenomenal. We had an absolute blast! I think my favorite part was actually the venue. The Fox Theater in Oakland was the coolest and most beautiful theater. Good accessibility from downtown Oakland, huge bar/lounge area, easy access in and out. The entire theater was ornately decorated with cool mosaics and Budda statues. Loved it!!

Fox Theater is a great place for a concert. Sounds was awesome, lots of bars available to grab a drink.

  • I love the 80's!

by FCBBCN on 11/4/14Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time that I come to the Fox to see Erasure in the course of three years. They are amazing live. I close my eyes and they take me back to my favorite decade, the 80's. Some singers/groups loose their edge, or voice with the time. Erasure still sounds the same. So happy to have seen them once more. I will go again and again!

  • Best Ever!!!!!!

  • Erasure at the Fox

by DjOsc on 11/4/14Fox Theater - Oakland - OaklandRating: 4 out of 5

Erasure still great! After so many years they perform great. Seeing Andy Bell as a solo act is fun, but is very nice to have keyboardist Vince Clark along. It is the full circle. We enjoyed every minute. Would love to see them again. Would recommend show to anybody that enjoyed the 80's duo and love synth pop.

  • Erasure. Nostalgia at its best

  • ERASURE-Fantastic

by JAYMUSIK on 11/3/14Pearl Concert Theater at Palms Casino Resort - Las VegasRating: 5 out of 5

Andy Bell's vocals were fantastic throughout. Vince Clarke set up new tracks for their classic songs and rocked the theater the entire show.
