ERASURE IN CONCERT:

Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Erasure was formed in mid-'80s London by former Depeche Mode member Vince Clark and budding singer Andy Bell. Their 1985 debut album Wonderland failed to make much of an impact in Britain, but they hit the big time with their 1987 sophomore album The Circus, which remained on the UK Albums Chart for more than a year on the strength of hit singles "Sometimes" and "Victim of Love". The following year they achieved breakthrough success in America with the Top 20 hits "Chains of Love" and "A Little Respect", both from their third album The Innocents. That album was the first of five consecutive UK No. 1 records for the duo, a streak that culminated with 1994's I Say I Say I Say. With their 16th studio album The Violet Flame hitting shelves in 2014, Erasure will treat fans to a series of electrifying shows in support of the release.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Andy Bell is one hell of a performer and had a lot of energy to bring their songs to life...I remember looking around and seeing my fellow concertgoers smiling from ear-to-ear and having an amazing sing-along experience. Definitely money well spent."

"Andy and Vince were awesome. The new songs are great and it was a blast hearing the old songs once again."

"Simply amazing! Erasure kept the crowd happy and dancing throughout the whole show."

  • Erasure was awesome but no 2nd encore??

by newMANchrist on 9/3/18The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 4 out of 5

Got there just in time to see Erasure, didn't see opening act(s). Seats were really uncomfortable but that's expected from a small old venue like the Wiltern. Despite that, the vibe from the crowd was awesome, everyone got into the songs, my wife thoroughly enjoyed most if not all the songs Erasure sang/played. There was a mixture of old songs and new ones, but we were surprised when Erasure wrapped up the show at about 10pm. This was shortly before doing their 1st encore, but there wasn't a 2nd encore. I mean Erasure has a whole lotta songs they could've sang (would've been nice for some more old songs). However all in all, it was a great show.

  • Fantastic and fun!

  • Erasure was one of "my" bands that defined my yout

Erasure was awesome and so worth seeing. However the opening band Reed and Caroline was so awful we thought we were being punked. Also, why do the tickets say 7 when nothing even starts until 8:30?

  • Bittersweet goodbyes

The final leg of their world tour ended here in Los Angeles at The Wiltern. With a packed house of dedicated fans the atmosphere was infectious with dancing and singing. I brought my wife who had never heard of erasure and was having a blast. If you’ve never seen Vince and Andy perform you better not miss them the next time that come around:). A big thank you to the boys for fulfilling my eyes and ears with a night of pure enjoyment. Cheers

What a great performance. Loved this band for over 25 years. Finally get to see them live. Sat in menzzanine and was great view of entire stage. Not much room to dance and sing, but I managed. Drinks are watered down and over priced.

Love songs that everyone sang along to. It was a fun time.

  • Fantastic show and a great venue!

by ChrBert on 8/28/18Jacobs Music Center's Copley Symphony Hall - San DiegoRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first time seeing Erasure. I’m so glad I bought tickets to this show. While they were promoting a new album, they certainly did not disappoint fans by playing so many of their classics. It was great to see so many fans all singing along to the songs and dancing the night away. Jacobs Symphony Hall was a beautiful and very unlikely venue for this show. It was the perfect size to still really feel intimate and personal.
