ENTER SHIKARI IN CONCERT:

For more than a decade, British band Enter Shikari has been slaying audiences with their adrenaline-filled blend of metalcore and electronica. In concert the furious foursome hammer out high-octane cuts like "Anaesthetist" and "Sorry You're Not a Winner" with savage intensity, alternating between melodic passages and growling hardcore breakdowns to deliver a dynamic live experience punctuated with real-time electronic manipulations. From the band's blistering riffs and amped-up showmanship to the frenetic mosh pit that inevitably arises, there's always plenty to get ticket buyers thrashing at Enter Shikari's hair-raising live shows.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Enter Shikari formed in 2003 when the St. Albans, UK band Hybrid -- a trio who had been playing together since 1999 -- added a fourth member and took on a new name. The newly minted quartet hit the ground running, releasing three demo EPs in 2003-2004 and building a considerable fanbase with a blitz of live shows. By 2006 they were climbing the UK Singles Chart with hard-hitting tracks like "Mothership" and "Sorry You're Not a Winner", and in 2007 they released their long-awaited debut album Take to the Skies. The album peaked at No. 4 on the UK Albums Chart, reaching Gold certification and leading to high-profile sets at festivals like Glastonbury and Reading and Leeds. Their next two albums -- 2009's Common Dreads and 2012's A Flash Flood of Colour -- fared similarly, both cracking the Top 20 and drawing the band out for extensive touring, bringing venues like the Varsity Theater to capacity. Enter Shikari's electrifying live shows have earned them numerous awards over the years, including two Kerrang! Awards for Best Live Band and an NME Reader's Poll for Best Live Act at Reading and Leads Festivals 2012. With their fourth album The Mindsweep already generating buzz in 2015, Enter Shikari show no signs of slowing down.

Saw Enter Shikari at Philly and Baltimore this tour. They always put on a great show! Lots of fun! I always am able to let go and the experience is transcendent. I will see them when they are back in the US for sure.

    Most amazing live band

by Elliephent1014 on 2/15/18A and R Music Bar - Columbus

Not only can this band really sing/play/do what they do best with music, but they make every part of the show a performance. Even the mic check was made into a performance, using a countdown to make the crowd go absolutely crazy. Enter Shikari has a talent and message that’s unique to any other band I’ve heard in my life. No matter what king of music you are into, you would not regret becoming a fan.

Excellent mix of old and new

by ericp92 on 2/11/18A and R Music Bar - Columbus

They sound just as good as last time I saw them, which was almost 10 years ago. They had energy and positivity and kept the crowd dancing the entire set. I felt super fortunate to see them in such a small venue as well, it made the experience all the more communal with the band and the audience.

ES is always an incredible live act!

by FightingBears on 4/3/17The Masquerade - Atlanta

The venue was pretty intimate, the energy was intense right out the gate, and the performance of their older material (as well as the inclusion of newer tunes) was absolutely incredible.

by Prominentz on 3/28/17Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Like the title says, great live show, worth the $20 + fees, they killed it and really put on a good show with great energy.

    Amazing as usual

by MikeSmelly on 3/25/17Paradise Rock Club - Boston

It was your typical shikari show. Packed room, absolute mayhem on the floor; blood, sweat, and tears were shed. Beautiful showing celebrating 10 years of the masterpiece known as TAKE TO THE SKIES.

The best live band you'll see

by Ephy on 5/8/16Gramercy Theatre - New York

Enter Shikari continues to be my favorite live band! They have wild energy, they're passionate about their views, and they make their shows a safe, friendly space. Their set was really cool because they played snippets of songs and remixes, so it was like mashups of their own songs. It was an awesome way to hear songs from all of their album, all old favorites but plenty of new songs as well. I met them beforehand (they were hanging out by the merch table) and they're really sweet dudes! I can't wait to see them again.

    Wow! A very cerebral band

by FOBH on 5/8/16Gramercy Theatre - New York

The very name of "Enter Shikari" evokes theatrical artifice (you know, the way the word enter is used in stage directions), and the band certainly lives up to its name. It is the most cerebral band I have ever heard in my 20+ years of listening to rock and metal music. It is possible that some of it is tongue in cheek, but the irony, if any, does not diminish (in fact, it increases) the intellectual load of this group's fare. The music is rich in layers: varying tempos, harmonies, borrowed motifs, allusions. A comparison with a symphony came up in my mind again and again. Even the singers' banter between songs used more vocabulary than is commonly used in a typical colloquial conversation. I am genuinely impressed.

    Best live show to date.

by FightingBears on 5/4/16Masquerade - Atlanta

Enter Shikari, without question, puts on the best live performance out of any other band I've seen. They're interactive, their set is diverse, and their fan base connects on a level that I've not seen before, making any live show of theirs one of the most memorable, exhilarating, and impressive experiences out there.

One of the best bands worldwide

by szalkerous on 4/13/15Paradise Rock Club - Boston

A talented band of musicians is worth seeing live. A band who fights for political justice and humanity is worth supporting. A band who spends time with their fans at no cost after the show and ensures ticket prices are reasonable is admirable. This band is all of the above.

    Awesome bands

by Matthewpierce0215 on 4/3/15Cone Denim Entertainment Center - GREENSBORO

I went for enter shikari, didn't know much about the other bands but all of them ended up putting on a good show and enter shikari killed it as always. Recommend this venue to anyone I was able to get on stage at the end. I'm not sure if they usually don't baricade but the artist are over top of you all evening. Awesome experience going back for the d wears p!

All the bands were excellent from the opener to the closer. Security too uptight with floor and stage antics even though encouraged by bands. No balcony but still a great show. I The Mighty was the bright spot for me and my son though.

    Enter Shikari Brings The Bad-Assery!

by theladyofthehour on 4/1/13Masquerade - Atlanta

What's the best part of seeing a concert at a small, intimate venue like The Masquerade? It could be getting to know fellow fans, the awesome tech crew mastering light and sound, or perhaps having the guitarist of one of the incredible bands standing on your shoulders and jamming the phuck out. Regardless, this was an awesome show, and I will always love the intimate experience this venue has to offer.
