EN VOGUE IN CONCERT:
En Vogue have been giving audiences something they can feel since their red-hot 1990 debut album Born to Sing. Combining impressive vocal harmonies and a sassy, empowered lyrical sensibility, the R&B divas dominated '90s airwaves, becoming one of the most successful girl groups of the decade. At their 2013 concerts, the ladies stunned crowds with their pitch-perfect a cappella breakdowns, sharp choreography, and stylish stage presence, building anticipation for their 2014 tour dates.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"En Vogue sang their hearts out and even went a little over their time."
"These three ladies put on quite the show. The song selection was great! They also took time to thank the audience on more than one occasion, making me feel good about spending my hard earned money to see them."
"The concert was amazing!! The ladies were so down to earth and very entertaining... I would definitely go again..."
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Formed in the mold of the legendary girl groups of the '50s and '60s, En Vogue's throwback sound resonated with audiences, propelling their 1990 debut Born to Sing to No. 3 on the Top R&B Albums chart. 1992 follow-up Funky Divas would prove an even bigger success, earning the band a host of awards and five Grammy nominations with ubiquitous No. 1's "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)" and "Giving Him Something He Can Feel." The group's sophisticated image, benefitting from several stylish videos in heavy rotation on MTV, added to their appeal, earning them more MTV Video Music Awards than any other female group in history. Despite lineup changes over the years, original members Terry Ellis and Cindy Herron remain, ensuring that En Vogue's live show remains loyal to the group's heyday.
I enjoyed the whole show!!! BBD was an oldie but goodie that brought it...... EnVogue sure did work it....and they can STILL SING!!!
The headliner was En Vogue but the Bell, Biv, Devoe (BBD) performance was outstanding. They were energetic, exciting and did a good job of keeping the audience engaged. The DJ was great as well.
I was a little weary about how the group would be, but they can still sing!
SILK AND EN VOGUE WAS AN AWESOME CONCERT. TRUELY LOVED IT.
Silk and EnVogue still had great harmony as before. They looked great too. It was fun going down memory lane with them.
I think that Envogue really have proved to the world that they still belong on the music charts! I really enjoyes their performance and would love to see more of their performances.
En Vogue was fantastic. Their your voices were fabulous. My man and I were dancing in the aisles. Their songs brought back so many memories. Wonderful show.
First, the positives: they looked & sounded great. Covered many hits---abbreviated version; good "old school" djay before the show. Here's the negatives: A 45 minute show--(tickets were $60) that started at lkeast 1 hour late; no encore; no live band; and opening act didn't show up, although Montell Jordan did a good job filling in. .
My husband and I could not wait to see En Vogue. We had so much fun at the concert. Our seats were great. The old school gang really showed up and out. We were rocking like every song was fresh and new.
The performance captured every age group. I would drive miles to see them again.
The group still has it. They still sound and look great. If I had the opportunity I would attend another one of their concerts. Very good energy.
It was a great show! My husband really enjoyed it!
Absolutely Amazing. Every minute of the show great
Great show. Audiance was singing along with most songs 5 star.
En Vogue represents true singing! They let their singing do all of the talking instead of coming on stage and shaking their you know what and calling that "performing." They reminded me of the good ole days where talent was actually singing. I miss those days!
EnVogue were excellant. They performed their hits as well as other oldies. BBD was also amazing. They don't make groups like these anymore. I would love to see New Edition, SWV, and even Al B Sure.
The concert was simply awesome. After all of these years, the ladies still look good together and sound great. I miss this type of music and the quality put into overall sound and look. I am so glad that they are back together doing their thing. It was definitely a treat. The crowd stayed on their feet throughout the entire show. Thanks - EnVogue for great entertainment, a great show, and sharing what you do with your fans. Keep up the good work. I would DEFINITELY recommend to other EnVogue fans.
Both Silk and En Vogue got the crowd involved and invited audience members on stage during the show and after the performance was there to shake hands and take pictures which was really good.
I really enjoyed the show. These girls worked the stage and made it theirs. After all of these years they still have it! I had backstage passess and got a chance to meet each of the members of the group and they were so down to earth. I hope to get to see them again because they rock!!!
First of all, the concert started over an hour late. Tank was supposed to open, but they got Montell Jordan instead. I personally like Montell better, I never liked Tank as an artist with his wife beater shirts on all the time thinking he is sexy. He just trys too hard. Whereas Montell had some great songs in the mid to late 90's. Montell looked great, too. En Vogue looked great and sounded great. My complaints are they did not do enough songs to be headliners. Cindy and Dawn sounded great, I mean exactly as they did when the group first started if not better, however, Terry did not sing any songs where she had the lead vocals (Don't Go, Who's Loving You, etc...) and I really wanted to jam to some of the songs she took the majority of the lead in. All in all, I am just happy Dawn is with the group and can't wait for their next album to come out.
