Best Birthday! William Beckett was icing on the cake!

by Mary C on 3/7/22House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

Such a fun night of dancing and singing William Beckett was a wonderful surprise too! The Academy Is… was a bit of an obsession in high school and I was fortunate enough to see them when they came through San Diego for the 10th Anniversary of their first album BUT that was the only time I have been able to see them. Being present for that acoustic performance from William gave me goosebumps and I may have cried while singing “The Phrase That Pays”. Kidding, no maybe - I 100% cried. Singing all off the other nostalgic songs from other bands from that era of my life, with my best friends, was pretty fun too! Will be back for the next ENB for sure!

    Wasn't great but wasn't horrible

    by C. H. on 3/2/22Echoplex - Los Angeles

The Echoplex is a great venue. We've been to the Emo Nite shows here and had an absolute blast. My problem with this host was more the music than anything. There we're a lot of repeats and none of the staple songs that gets everyone to sing as one giant group.

    First Timer

    by Its_okay on 3/1/22Echoplex - Los Angeles

It was good. To have a group of people who enjoy the same music and want to just jam out and get drunk.

    I walked out

by Upset Elder Emo on 3/1/22Echoplex - Los Angeles

Honestly this was the most disappointing show I’ve been to. My friends and I came to listen to the music we grew up with and instead we saw some kid named sk8 trash the stage while drunk and be completely obnoxious, some young girl dj who didn’t play ANY emo music and Ryan from yellowcard show up late to then play slow acoustic music. We walked out.

    Disappointed

    by D. H. on 2/28/22

Made a whole night out in Chicago for this. Got to the HoB and waited in line. Me and my GF got to the front of the stage and had a fun time with the pre show set list. But when the DJ started it was a disaster. He kept playing the wrong songs and in an attempt to fix it ended up playing the intro to sugar, we’re going down three times in a row then played a completely different song. He tried to have energy but it felt like he had no idea what any of the music he was playing was. Left 3 songs into the set. Just get a Bluetooth speaker and put Spotify on shuffle, you’ll have a better experience.

    It was alright

by Jordan on 2/28/229:30 CLUB - Washington

Some of the music was good, but the dj didn’t really seem to get the crowds vibe and was kind of nervous and repetitive. I had to leave to catch the metro before it closed and kept waiting for one more good song, but I guess they were holding out the best until the end of the show. The crowd was great when everyone was jamming

    4/10

by ElderEmo on 2/8/22House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

The event was really great until the DJ started talking about his instagram and mental Health for a solid 20 minutes. Killed the vibe, about half of the crowd left and here normally people close it down

    Definitely Recommend!

by JJ on 1/17/22The Foundry - Philadelphia

This was my first Emo Night so I wasn’t really sure what to expect, but my friends and I absolutely loved it! The venue (The Foundry in Philly) was really nice and I loved how the DJ played a variety of emo hits from the early 2000s to today. The drinks were a bit expensive, but they were really strong so that made up for it. We met some cool people and it was clear everyone was having a great time! I would definitely go agan!

No notice given about covid testing needed

by Shadow on 12/21/21The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Went to emo night last month and was allowed in. This time when i showed up i was informed that i needed a negative covid test. Would have been fine if i knew in advance but it wasn’t posted anywhere.

    Emo/PopPunk Recharge

by Charlie on 12/20/219:30 CLUB - Washington

Awesome night out with friends! Venue was better than I expected. Alcohol was grosser than I expected. Thankfully not as crowded as expected. DJ was decent. Really wish we could’ve text a number for the music request instead of using Instagram…everyone isn’t really inclined to the social monster. Nonetheless, I enjoyed my time and look forward to more EmoNightBrooklyn events.

    Very strange

by C on 12/14/21House of Blues San Diego - San Diego

I got excited about this gig thinking I’d be seeing a good band covering solid emo and punk songs. I should have done more research, as it was actually three dudes hyping up a crowd while playing a Spotify playlist full of 2010’s radio hits. Didn’t really see the appeal, but at least the venue was nice.

Felt like I could really party finally!

by Taylor on 12/1/21The Foundry - Philadelphia

The Foundry was a cool location to have this! I felt like I was transported back to my teenage years where my love of this music really developed, yet I never got to go out and party or dance to it. Now being older, I finally could! I loved that 4 Fall Out Boy songs played (even if they were mostly the early years), but was surprised there wasn't more Panic, or All-American Rejects, Simple Plan, etc. There were obvious times where nearly everyone knew the song, then lulls when the majority of people didn't. So I would tweak the playlist a bit, and could improve on transitions/mixing between songs.

    TRANSCENDENT MUSICAL EXPERIENCE

    eh it was ok

by z on 11/23/21The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

Supposed to be 2 djs but only 1 was there. The “surprise guest” William Beckett had awful energy and did not seem like he wanted to be there. When fans approached him later in the evening, he was quick to brush everyone off, and didnt even smile in the photos taken. He also seemed to play “his favorites” which were album tracks and not hits that everyone knew.

    Great start, terrible finish

by Nicole on 11/23/21The Stone Pony - Asbury Park

First the show didn't start until 1030pm (9pm start stated on tickets). Once it starts, its great. The guy who runs the event is full of energy and makes the night very fun. During my show, he brought on a special guest who did an acoustic set which completely turned down the mood for most of the crowd. Then, that special guest took over most of the song plays. Most songs by the end of the night were obscure songs or not in the right genre. The two people who "took over" ended a few minutes before 1am...which is NOT what I expected based on the information on the guys site (expected until 3 or 4am). Also, they played "closing time" as the last song. Just completely ruined the rocking mood we had at the beginning of the night. Will not be attending one of these ever again in the future. Wasn't even worth the $$ since all the drink prices were outrageous.
