If you’ve never been to this event you need to go!!!!
Honestly this was more of a 2000s alternative night the DJ played the same couple artists and didnt play almost anything he referred to on the event description. The DJ was blaring music he didn't know the words to and it was obvious that he was trying way way too hard and he was trying to make the entire event about him it was uncomfortable. People were clearing out of the venue pretty early into the night. I would go again but definitely not with this DJ.
Had so much fun singing to all of my favorite bands and songs
The Foundry is a little small and it was hard to see the stage unless you are in the front area. The event itself was amazing. Really great DJs that were very energetic and hyped up the crowd. Music selection had a great variety across the years and sub-genres of emo music. Performers from Warped Tour also made guest appearances.
The Foundry is a great venue, but that's about it. Calling this event emo night was misleading. It would have been nice if they'd specified that the majority of the music played would be late 2000s pop-punk. I came to this expecting to hear music I listened to in high school... unfortunately this was obviously geared more towards people in their early 20s versus those of us pushing 30, who listened to the first wave of emo music. They didn't play quintessential emo anthems, which was a huge disappointment. Next time, they should be a little more specific about what generation this is targeted towards.
Going in I wasn’t sure what to expect but, once the show got started I felt like I was right back in the emo era. Steve, one of the DJ’s, was so awesome and super interactive with the crowd he really got everyone pumped. Already booked a ticket for another show!!!
Went to this show, and there was a lot of non-Emil played. Bands like Linkin Park and Papa Roach were heard throughout the night. The Elmo songs that were played were pretty good, just too often broken up.
last minute my wife and i decided to go home to our dog and play music off our laptop and have our own emo night at home. she (our dog) had been home alone all day and we felt bad for leaving her. mixed emotions of anxiety and guilt we jumped the line last minute and dance, danced our lives away with our pupper.
Wasn’t sure what to expect. It’s basically a couple of guys playing an emo playlist on stage. It was fun don’t get me wrong, but it got a little tired after 2.5 hours of it. It seemed to end up being more of an emo club vs a show. I probably wouldn’t go again, but it was something to do on a Friday night.
I had so much fun!!! Some songs I didn’t know but most of them I loved. We even got to go on stage.
One of the best times I've had in awhile! Would definitely go next time this event happens.
Sponsored by Jack Daniels. Swag and Photo Booth area co-opted my party nook. Tunes were good. Energy just as live as last time. Parking less stressful with prepaid option (parked in CVS parking lot.). Last time I circled the area for about 30 minutes and lucked into a spot. Will attend again.
This event brought back the nostalgia of my "scene" days from over a decade ago. It was amazing how a room full of strangers could connect through having an appreciation for the same style of music.
Bunch of drunk kids on stage with a laptop. Expected more.
This was a strange event. I understand it was supposed to be just music and whatnot, but the two "hosts", although energetic, looked like they were just jamming out in their basement to their favorite tunes. There were fake microphones on stage that the girls were pretending to sing into while jumping around pretending they knew the lyrics. When the band came out, they looked just as confused and uncomfortable, unsure of what they were supposed to be doing. I'm not even sure what I thought it was supposed to be in the first place anymore, but I thought the band was going to have more interaction and/or at least be in charge of the playlist instead of just standing awkwardly at the back of the stage. I would never pay for this again unless things changed.
If you went to warped tour from 2000-2010, then you need to grab as many friends as you can and get drunk then sing every song until you don't have a voice.
