The actors were very good. The singing was a little off at times, but overall, very well done. Aida was wonderful to hear and while Radames lacked the typical rock n roll sound of past actors in the role, he sang the songs in his own way and it worked very nicely. Unfortunately, that is the only thing that didn't have major flaws. The costuming was very nice, for everyone but Rademes. They put him in leather pants and jacket with work boots, while everyone else wore sandals and robe-like attire...like Egyptians should. The set was underwhelming and not very creatively used. The Nubian chorus was completely void of men so it appeared Egypt only had the women captured with Aida. The worst aspect was the choreography. Every song was choreographed for a completely different style from the song. The tough masculine numbers were done in a ballet style that looked so incredibly wrong. "The Gods Love Nubia" was done well, but every other dance break was utterly wrong. As someone who loves Aida, it was a let down to see a show with so much potential fall so short.
