    Elsie Fest was AMAZING!

by thelovelymissck on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

I loved being a part of the inaugural Elsie Fest! It was great to see Boradway guys like Aaron Tveit channel their inner rockstar and tear the place down with not only broadway tunes, but also giving a spin on current pop hits! It was a great day all around (especially since I got to meet Aaron Tveit) and it is something that I will definitely be going to next year!

    Needs A Lot of Improvement

by Anonymous on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

The venue had a lot of potential, there was just not enough going on to keep people entertained. There were about 500 people, and 3 food trucks. One of the food trucks ran out of food because they were told that there would only be about 200 people. Everything was extremely over priced, which was expected I guess, but for the quality of the entire event, it shouldn't have been that expensive. This event has SO much potential, there's just a lot of improvements that need to be made so it can be a more exciting experience for people. If there wasn't music going on, there was nothing to do. There was nowhere anyone could go. Also, there no seats unless you were VIP. Which I thought was absolutely ridiculous. Like I said, needs a lot more improvement if I were to go again. I love you, Darren, but it definitely needs work and I believe you can make it better.

    Elsie Fest was unforgettable!

by Petrova on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

I haven't had that much fun in a long time. The set list was incredible with so much talent amongst all of them. The audience reacted so well to every performer and each song. Everyone sounded amazing and they clearly were having so much fun up there on stage. I appreciated and loved every single moment of it!!

    Elsiefest was AMAHZING!!

by 2041 on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

The talent was phenomenal as one would expect but the extras just made the day. The sing alongs, merchandise, food, drink was all great. The meet and greets were so much fun and really added to the festival atmosphere. I met some very nice people and I have to say that the entire staff were great! Looking forward to Elsiefest 2016!

    Great show!

by NikkiHolly on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

Great show, would absolutely recommend to any theatre fan! All of the performers were great and the venue was really nice. No bathroom line, which is always a good thing! Clean venue, pleasant security. Only issue was that there wasn't enough food trucks, so the lines for food took forever. Hopefully this is something they'll fix in future years.

    Unique and fun

by Whashernickname on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

Darren Criss brought his A game in putting together this event. This was the most talent packed 7 hours I have ever experienced. It was such a fun and genuinely unique experience. As a Broadway fan we normally see our favorite actors (ie: Lea, Aaron, Leslie and Laura) in a theatre where silence is golden. It was so amazing to feel them in a concert setting, where singing along is encouraged. I am looking forward to next year. The only way to go is up.

    elsie fest

by Anonymous on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

The acts themselves were incredible. However, the organization of the event could have been better. It seemed that the staff working wasn't sure how to separate out the general admission from VIP seating, and then they were having to separate out the meet and greet people as well. Doors were supposed to open at 1 but we didn't enter until closer to 1:30. One major problem was serious lack of food. There were literally thousands of people at this event and only THREE food trucks. Luckily we got in line pretty quickly and only waited about a half an hour for service (as an aside, we were about five people from the front of the line when the guy came out and raised all the prices about $2 each--real nice when you have people forced to buy from you). I heard later that people waited hours only to be told that there was no more food. That seemed like really poor planning for an eight hour event. You had to have known approximately how many people would be in attendance. There was also no where for any GA people to sit. I'm not talking about during the performances--I mean anywhere to rest your feet (again, an eight hour event) other than sitting on the concrete. Luckily it was a sunny day and it didn't matter if we sat on the ground, but I could see this being a major problem if the weather hadn't cooperated. The only other problem I saw was in the exit strategy--security was trying to funnel the thousands of concert goers through one tiny exit gate, rather than opening up the larger gate which had been the entrance. It would have gone a lot faster if they had opened the larger gate. All in all, we were happy with the performances enough that it overtook the negative experiences that day. We hope to be back for the next one!

Loved seeing the various performers and hearing songs that I love and some songs that I hadn't heard. My expectation from the website was that there would have been more performers not listed and that was not the case. Also, a very long time in between every performer which was understandable but I felt could have been shortened due to the nature of the performances. Still, I expect to be returning next year!

    Absolutely glorious.

by RayRome on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

Such a wonderful assortment of talented artists. Darren Criss was absolutely phenomenal as always. I'm so happy to have been able to experience the first of many Elsie Fests. I even ran into Darren on the street as he was walking into to venue. It was an overall incredible night.

Thought the show had amazing performers and a good selection of songs. I wish the venue had more options for food but other than that, it was a fun day!

WHEN I GO I'M GOING LIKE ELSIE

by TheLongGrift on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

Elsie fest was so so so fun! The performers were incredible (and super punctual) and the whole atmosphere was super chill and relaxing. The Marie's Crisis beer garden was so fun with all of the sing-alongs and surprise guests. This is what the musical theatre world needs and I hope it comes back every year!

    Elsiefest was amazing!

by saralyric on 9/30/15JBL Live at Pier 97 - New York

To experience and be a part of New York's first Broadway & Showtunes music festival was unreal. To also say that I was able to meet Aaron Tveit, an actor/singer/performer whom I've followed over 2 years was such a cool experience. I would definitely recommend this festival to someone next year hoping much more will come out of it. One thing I would recommend for next year is to have more food venues, and food trucks. I actually had to wait an hour and a half for food, and I've been to large music festivals and did not have to wait that long, granted this was the pilot music festival. I really enjoyed Marie's Crisis Beer Garden performances. I went to the festival alone and met some great people there. Everyone just wanted to have a great time!

The organization was terrible, as well as, the meet and greets part of the day. However, the event itself was amazing and I'm so glad to have a Broadway Coachella style music concert to attend! The lineup was perfect! I hope this event goes on next year!
