About

Elbow will make a much anticipated and welcome return to Australia for four special shows. Fellow Brits and special guests, Bombay Bicycle Club, join Elbow on tour in what will be their first Australian shows. Tickets go on sale at 9am Tuesday December 6.
Elbow's return visit follows quickly after four mesmerising performances last July, including sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney and a remarkable set at the Splendour in the Grass festival.
Elbow have consistently delivered impeccable, brilliant live shows. "Elbow are as close to a perfect live band any punter could hope for..." Fasterlouder
The band's graceful, lush orchestral sounds a gently sublime mix of the intricately elegant, poignant, and elative, rousing crescendos serve up stunning renditions from their five album repertoire.
Up front, Guy Garvey fills the room with his angelic vocals, undeniable stage presence and natural charisma; his generous between song banter building a strong rapport between band and audience. "‘Open Arms' was triumphant, ‘Station Approach' possessed an almost hypnotic jubilation and set closing ‘One Day Like This' was positively euphoric." Drum Media
"We think we may have gone to musical heaven..." Inpress 2011 marks Elbow's 20 year anniversary and the release of their fifth studio album, ‘Build A Rocket Boys'. ‘Build A Rocket Boys' follows debut album ‘Asleep in the Back', ‘Cast of Thousands', ‘Leaders of the Free World' and their fourth album, the 2008 Mercury Music Prize winning ‘The Seldom Seen Kid'.
North London's Bombay Bicycle Club, opening for Elbow on all shows, have released three albums in as many years. Winning a competition to perform at V Festival while still at school, the youthful band released their gold, debut album,‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose', in 2009. Wasting no time, a stripped down, acoustic, second album ‘Flaws', was released a year later making the UK top 10. ‘A Different Kind of Fix' is Bombay Bicycle Club's latest offering, cited as a their best record yet and a promise of more to come. The band have built a fiercely loyal UK fan base to which they're about to add a whole lot more Australians. Immerse in the sounds of Elbow, with special guests Bombay Bicycle Club.

    Elbow in Philly

by MD57 on 11/6/17The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Amazing show in Philly, opening act C. Duncan was great and of course Elbow and Guy Garvey were great. 2 HOURS of amazing music. I still don't understand how this band is not more popular in the States.

This is how live music should be!

by Nicos52 on 11/4/17Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Being originally from the UK and having lived in Manchester for two years, I know Elbow very well and there they fill huge halls and stadiums. Here though they were in an intimate setting and the rapport between Guy Garvey and the crowd was instant. Funny stories interspersed heart wrenching, anthemic and quirky songs, each with a melody and hook you would be humming long after the gig. At the end they finished with One Day Like This, which the crowd then proceeded themselves while awaiting the inevitable encore. Final song of the night was the rollicking, Grounds for Divorce. And brilliant end to a 'Magnificent' evening.

    Elbow awesome once again!

by Debstar1 on 11/4/17Paradise Rock Club - Boston

This was the fourth time we have had the pleasure of seeing Elbow live, and they did not disappoint us. The intimate setting of the Paradise coupled with the amazing music of both C Duncan and Elbow made the night memorable for our group. Even for a weeknight, it was well worth going to, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!

    Like going to church

by SpikeJD on 6/11/14House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Elbow just has a way of taking the crowd with them. It was a wonderful show. The opener, John Grant, had such a beautiful voice and so much presence that I could listen to him all night. But he also knew exactly how long to be on stage. Overall, an excellent show.

    Brilliant Band to see live!

by STONE11 on 6/3/14The Wiltern - Los Angeles

This band gets better each time I see them. Guy Garvey and his mates are a well-oiled machine and deliver goods with perfection! This is band that doesn't dress in matching uniforms or have theme albums like some other bands out there. They write lyrics with feeling and are simply into making great music! They have matured with each album but haven't sold out. If you have a chance to see this band live then make sure you go because you won't regret it.

If you like Elbow, don't miss the chance to see them live. They are flawless. Very engaging with the crowd. Their setlist doesn't change much if at all night to night, and the live versions are consistent with the studio ones, but they are tight and fantastic live and I drove two hours to see the show and was glad I did.

    Elbow

by RealMusicAppreciator on 6/1/14Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Amazing band, amazing venue. Had just discovered Elbow for the first time on Late night w/ Jimmy Fallon. It was love at first sound!!! Feel very lucky to have seen them since they are not touring too many cities in America. Will be looking for other great acts at The Fox Theater as well. New favorite bay area venue. :)

    Elbow was epic.

by jethroD on 6/1/14The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Rarely do I see a rock show where the words 'beautiful' or 'epic' could be used to describe the music. But those are apt descriptions of the music you hear at an Elbow show. Everything about the band and music is just - epic. This was just an amazing show where everything was good - good sound, good band, good (and very funny) front-man, good crowd. Highly recommend seeing Elbow if they come back to the states.

Once again, elbow amazes at the Wiltern!!!

by ub404i on 6/1/14The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Loyal long-term fans and fortunate first-time attendees were treated to a fantastic night of elbow at their absolute best. Having seen the band at the Avalon, the Greek Theatre and previously at the Wiltern, I can say that they continue to craft songs of incredible depth and intensity and present them in concert with honest, straightforward total commitment. This is elbow, this is their music, and I defy anyone present to not find themselves totally immersed, engaged and converted by the end of the night. Thank goodness ours was one of the few cities in America favored with a night with Manchester's finest. Cheers, lads, cheers!!!

    Elbow are magnificent

by hihosteveareno on 5/31/14The Wiltern - Los Angeles

A great show from one of my favorite bands. The tight, skilled musicianship is slightly over-shadowed by the lead vocals, with Guy's charisma and charm setting the pace for a wonderful evening. They always rely on new material, and in the case of their new album, "The Take Off And Landing Of Everything," you'll hear no complaints from me. The Wiltern, one of my favorite venues, is perfect for Elbow.

    Elbow Rocked LA!!!!

by GruVmom58 on 5/31/14The Wiltern - Los Angeles

This band is incredible one of my all time favorites and the concert was electric. I had the most incredible experience. Guy Garvey's voice is second to none and the band with people that know how to play their instruments made for an unforgettable night. Look forward to seeing Elbow again

    Subtle Brilliance

by jpbab on 5/30/14Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I'm reflecting back on the "Elbow" show Phyllis and I went to the other night. Realizing I was spending some cash on a band that had really 3 songs I liked, I went because I REALLY liked those songs and I realized being a Northern Californian, I might never see this band again. I understand Elbow is not a really big band but my friends had also commented that this is a band that is typically "not me." The songs are spatial, laid back, and subtle. there is no mosh pit at an Elbow show. What is dominant is "feeling." Garvey the lead singer and ale enthusiast, treats the audience as if we were all in a small pub in London. He walks on the stage with an ale (in a plastic glass like his audience) and opens with "Cheers Oakland" and guides us through his personal journey of human emotions. The sad "I miss your silly face, I miss your bad advice" as he laments to a lost friend. Let's be honest, no that dies is perfect and we all miss their imperfections as well of their perfection. To the ever optimistic "One day like this is all I need...." Although there is a small string section that is amazingly grandiosed with a wonderful mix, they and ALL instruments take a background to the EMOTION of the song. There are songs with guitars that never play a chord or a note. There are songs where the drummer may hit just a few times.Every is subtle. Then they break all their rules and rip into their top hit and a great blues rocker "Grounds for Divorce" where both the drummer and Garvey wail on the drums. The master of the pub, Garvey gets the audience to do his bidding with their hands on every song. Never loud never over bearing. One twist he threw on the crowd as letting us know, the band would not come back for an encore unless WE sang him a tune. he took a couple of suggestions and then the audience broke into "Fat Bottom Girls" to great amusement for all.

    Flawless

by fourstringfunk on 5/30/14Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Elbow manages to recreate the precise sound and balance of their finest recordings in their live performances, while also adding an energy and passion that can only be expressed from the stage. With 6 studio albums to draw from, they managed a wonderful setlist, drawing favorites from their entire catalogue.
