About

Elbow will make a much anticipated and welcome return to Australia for four special shows. Fellow Brits and special guests, Bombay Bicycle Club, join Elbow on tour in what will be their first Australian shows. Tickets go on sale at 9am Tuesday December 6.
Elbow's return visit follows quickly after four mesmerising performances last July, including sold out shows in Melbourne and Sydney and a remarkable set at the Splendour in the Grass festival.
Elbow have consistently delivered impeccable, brilliant live shows. "Elbow are as close to a perfect live band any punter could hope for..." Fasterlouder
The band's graceful, lush orchestral sounds a gently sublime mix of the intricately elegant, poignant, and elative, rousing crescendos serve up stunning renditions from their five album repertoire.
Up front, Guy Garvey fills the room with his angelic vocals, undeniable stage presence and natural charisma; his generous between song banter building a strong rapport between band and audience. "‘Open Arms' was triumphant, ‘Station Approach' possessed an almost hypnotic jubilation and set closing ‘One Day Like This' was positively euphoric." Drum Media
"We think we may have gone to musical heaven..." Inpress 2011 marks Elbow's 20 year anniversary and the release of their fifth studio album, ‘Build A Rocket Boys'. ‘Build A Rocket Boys' follows debut album ‘Asleep in the Back', ‘Cast of Thousands', ‘Leaders of the Free World' and their fourth album, the 2008 Mercury Music Prize winning ‘The Seldom Seen Kid'.
North London's Bombay Bicycle Club, opening for Elbow on all shows, have released three albums in as many years. Winning a competition to perform at V Festival while still at school, the youthful band released their gold, debut album,‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose', in 2009. Wasting no time, a stripped down, acoustic, second album ‘Flaws', was released a year later making the UK top 10. ‘A Different Kind of Fix' is Bombay Bicycle Club's latest offering, cited as a their best record yet and a promise of more to come. The band have built a fiercely loyal UK fan base to which they're about to add a whole lot more Australians. Immerse in the sounds of Elbow, with special guests Bombay Bicycle Club.

Great music and a brilliant performance from everyone

by NH on 1/22/20The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Really excellent night and Elbow were totally excellent. Really enjoyed the music (which I am a massive fan of) including the supporting act Jesca Hoop. The venue is really nice although the cost of drinks in my opinion excessive and so we didn't buy any

    Magnificent !!!

by DW on 1/22/20The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Saw the Jan.19 show in LA. The band was so tight ... and Alex is so young and so beautiful ... love your drumming, man !!! Guy made us laugh with his stories and crowd sing with reckless abandon ... our harmonies on One Day Like This gave me goosebumps! You are “sad captains” to me, with whom I gladly choose to lose my mind. Very thankful you continue to make new and relevant music. Peace and love!

    Never Disappointed

by Poeroseblood21 on 1/22/20The Wiltern - Los Angeles

We were right in front row and they never disappoint. They sound great live and Guy Garvey is just brilliant. Jesca Hoop was a breath of fresh air. First time seeing her and definitely checking more of her music out. Amazing night!

    Ridiculously Good Show

by Brent V on 1/21/20House of Blues San Diego presented by Cricket Wireless - San Diego

Elbow put on a fantastic show! They’re top flight musicians and performers. Guy Garvey kept the crowd involved and engaged. The performed the old songs you came to hear and the new ones you were hoping to hear. I had a great time.

    Great Concert/Confusing Ticket

by KeepItSimple on 1/21/20House of Blues San Diego presented by Cricket Wireless - San Diego

Elbow were great, House of Blues was a very good venue. Bought early access, skip the line tickets, but they closed the restaurant for a private event, so I paid to be a line that was not the regular line; very messy.

    elbow were amazing as always!

by ub404i on 11/19/17The Wiltern - Los Angeles

Caught both the Observatory and the Wiltern shows, and elbow gave remarkable performances at both venues. Guy Garvey has a great ability to get the audience involved in the show - singing at the top of their lungs!!!

    Elbow rocks hard... but softly.

by Steeves2 on 11/19/17The Wiltern - Los Angeles

The show was surprisingly energetic given how mellow the studio stuff is. They are consummate musicians and Guy Garvey is an amazingly affable showman. They tour with two violin players/back up singers, so the strings obviously don't sound synthesized, which is huge. The whole effect (and by "whole" I'm including being a little drunk and stoned [in CA that's okay]) is transportive. I actually teared up during The Birds.

    Love the Wiltern and Elbow

by Andigirl on 11/19/17The Wiltern - Los Angeles

The Wiltern is one my favorite places to see a gig, and Elbow is one of my favorite bands! This was a great show. Guy Garvey never disappoints. The man is charisma personified and his vocals are always on point.

    Concert of a lifetime

by dillarydock on 11/16/17Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Guy Garvey captures your heart with his soulful voice, positively poetic lyrics, and his charming and engaging interaction with the audience. The band works seamlessly together, weaving a tapestry of beautiful music around you. I didn't know whether to cry or cheer, so I did both; occasionally at the same time. I would go to another concert in a heartbeat. I only wish they would tour the US more often.

    Blown Away By Elbow

    Mehhh

    by Yesfan6 on 11/16/17Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I LOVE Elbow, have seen all their Bay Area shows. Their music is best when paired with lots of strings, i.e. the BBC recordings available on YouTube. However--this show was loud, loud, and obnoxious, as if the 45-70 year olds in the audience like that kind of thing. The light design was....dark stage, lights shining in the audience face. The sound and lighting designers need to take a hike, and let us enjoy Elbow's wonderful music.

Guy and crew are the best at crowd participation

by Dagaf on 11/16/17Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I like their new album but it’s not one that I wanted to hear every song, one after the other. Set list ended up being an almost perfect selection over 6 or so albums. Loved it xxx

    Way Better Than Expected

by RedPilot on 11/16/17Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I was actually prepared to be disappointed, since their online setlist didn't include Leaders of the Free World or Audience With the Pope. (I still think those two songs should be a MUST for their shows) But live, this band is absolutely amazing! Even their low-key mellow songs from the new album are much more dynamic and powerful when you see/hear them performed live. Elbow is big in the UK, much less so in the US, but more Americans should discover what an amazing talent Elbow really is!

A Stadium Filling Band for $30

by JemUSA on 11/9/17The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

Elbow back in Philly for this first time since 2014. What a gift. You'd pay hundreds of different currencies for a seat at one of their gigs across the world, Philly gets the band and a great warm up for chump change.Last time they had John Grant as support, now they've got him singing one of the new album releases.

Elbow was an event to see!

by JBoy13 on 11/8/17Paradise Rock Club - Boston

Great music + a great band = a wonderful evening. Elbow is lots of fun, and the crowd at the Paradise last Wednesday was totally into it. Grab tickets (if you can) the next time they're in town.

    Elbow in Philly

by travelinjohnson on 11/7/17The Fillmore Philadelphia - Philadelphia

The venue is awesome, great location, excellent open areas, site lines and access in and out. The Elbow show made it perfect as they are truly under rated for their strong melodies, thoughtful lyrics, etc, but live, Guy Garvey is one of the best, most engaging lead singers anywhere. Have seen 100's of concerts from U2 to Sigur Ros to Sufjan Stevens but he is one of the rare entertainers that seems to genuinely love his job and his crowd and takes the time to fully participate. Their songs can be a little slow but the muscianship and stage presence of Guy with an underappreciated vocal range elevates the entire show to unexepected levels.
