El Debarge Tickets

OK, I'll start with the bad - and the reasons why I couldn't rate this show 5 stars: 1. The show was set to start at 7:30, did not start until 9:30 (allegedly due to El's flight not landing in VA until 8:05 pm) 2. Due to the fact that he must have hit the stage straight from the airport, he was dressed pretty casually in jeans and a t-shirt. 3. He didn't sing Stay With Me and that is my all-time favorite song (personal issue) The Good: 1. He still is fine as ever 2. His voice is flawless 3. Lots of crowd participation - he was having a good time on stage 4. Interacted with the crowd and took plenty of pictures I would definitely go and see him again, especially in an intimate setting. He connects well with the crowd. I loved him like it was still 1985 last night. :)

El didn’t perform his best songs. Show was 2 short.

El Debarge was good. Still has his voice. BUT BUT THE SOUND CHECK WAS BADDD.

El was fantastic but started the concert late & ended his performance too soon..wish he would've performed another 2-3 songs to go out with a bang!

I love El DeBarge! My only complaint is that he didn't sing songs from his solo albums. He's such a great artist that he should focus more on his own songs from solo albums and not other artists.

I traveled to New York to see El Debarge and he did not disappoint! His voice was beautiful and his showmanship was lively. I was glad to see him looking healthy. The venue was BB Kings Blues Club and Grill, which was very nice. Excellent food. DJ was excellent - had the crowd partying until El appeared on stage.

I did not like the fact that you have to buy an entire table of 10 seats in order to get VIP seating (unlike most concert venues). I'm a superfan of El DeBarge and would have paid to sit front row but that was not possible at BB King's. El DeBarge sounds better than ever. He was humble, personable, and interacted with the crowd. The sound engineer was terrible and the band played way too loud and often drowned out his vocals. BB King's needs to do much better in this aspect because it greatly took away from the experience. The concert could have been off the charts if El's sound was handled by the engineer and band in a much better way. They were not at all in tune with realizing the audience could not hear El and poor El had to keep giving them hand signals and actually getting up and physically going to the engineer to speak to him, all while still trying to keep the audience engaged. El is a true professional. BB King's should also make sure the audience in the VIP section does not stand up for most of the performance and block the view of others. It was very frustrating and the crowd had to keep yelling at some to sit down (again, distracting from the concert experience).

El DeBarge was his usual...his voice was sharp, his piano playing beautiful. We thoroughly enjoyed his presence and engagement with his audience. We can't say enough about enjoying his good looks...more handsome and a real man! Our only criticism was that his performance was too short and we would have loved to hear him sing more tunes from his Second Chance body of songs.

As usual, Eldra DeBarge's voice was great but the show started late and ended early. There were pauses so almost all songs were not sung end-to-end. The lights were killing him and the background sound/music was so high/loud at times that I believe he would have had to strain his vocal cords to sing above it.

The show was 40 minutes late stating. When he did his 75-80 minute set, not the normal 90, there was no call back song even though the crowd waited. We were quickly scooted out so the could get ready for the next show. He didn’t play a lot of his big hits. I go to B.B. KINGS all the time and was really disappointed. I even wonder if they are above code because people were crammed in and it was SRO. I had two assigned seats but that means nothing. I was told it was SRO. When I told them I had just had a total Knee replacement, rather than trying to accommodate me, I was asked if I had made arrangements for a disability space. Why would I do that since I allegedly had two seats reserved. I finally did find two empty seats in GA. The table that let us join them said they had been there since 2:30 for a 7:30 show! And the seats weren’t that good. Reservations at B.B. Kings mean nothing unless you are a VIP or rent a booth for four. All it does is seemingly let you in. Oh, and there were no tee shirts or CDs for sale. Very diasspointed and I’ll think twice before I go back. I already have tickets to Spyro Gyra. I guesss I have to get there at 5 to actually get a seat.

I was very excited to see El Debarge as I saw him last year at BB Kings and his performance was AMAZING. So amazing that I came back. Needless to say the combination of bad sound, El not singing the songs fully, performing for less than hour, not having an opener and El not being fully in the moment made this difficult to watch. Many of the patrons at my table shared the same sentiment.

With all he's been through, El DeBarge can still sing with that powerful falsetto! He is still a showman and it doesn't hurt that he's still easy on the eye's!! Love him !! BB Kings is a good venue because it is an intimate venue where all seats are good but be prepared to be crowded in at your table that you share. Unfortunately the service there is subpar, if you want more than 1 cocktail better order them upfront and hope you get them in less than half an hour but seeing El in an intimate venue was worth the thirst!!

I saw El at the Hollywood Casino in Toledo, OH and he was epic El. Voice hasn't lost one note and he's still got it. I have been a huge fan since he was first introduced to us with his siblings. Every venue I will always be there.

He sings and dances like its 1985. Would absolutely go see again. Talked to the audience and involved us. Danced into the crowd. Trying to get tickets to see his next show.

The ONLY reason why he didnt get 5 stars was because he left out hits. Whos holding donna, you wear it well, etc. He could have sang a few more top hits and new stuff that he said was coming out this summer. Otherwise, he was like a 20 year old on stage.

My husband is a big fan, We re-lived our teens and twenties. I forgot that he sang some of my favorites tunes. El had lots of energy. He really put on a good show. A true entertainer. We will definitely see him again. Do yourself a favor, get your tickets!! The venue setting is intimate and the food and service were very good.

This show amazed me. I love how El pulled the people on stage and danced with them. He still sounds good and he can still get down!

Song selection, vocals, lyrics, energy, wardrobe, emotional delivery, audience engagement, stage presence, 'AND' response to the crowd's encore was ALL on point! El DeBarge IS the Total Package when it comes to his artistry and his physical beauty is the pretty bow placed on top of that package. El IS-A-BEAST. He's a master of his craft. NO OTHER ARTIST (PAST OR PRESENT) CAN COMPARE. Iconic.... Legendary..... Music royalty at it's best! That's why I've crowned him 'The' Undisputed Sensual King of Pop HipHop and R&B.

I went to go see El Debarge at the Birchmere on Sunday, October 2nd and the performance was phenomenal. The show started perfectly on time and he sung all his old popular songs and was very interactive with the audience. El really sung his heart out and did some other songs that kept the audience dancing and singing along. The Birchmere is a really nice venue and allows artists to give intimate performances that you will remember for a lifetime.

His performance was unforgettable, my wife and I had a great time. I remember the DeBarge family as a kid in the early 80s, and their music has always stuck with. Once the opportunity came to see El DeBarge 30 plus years later, I jumped on it. As the song by Shalamar said a " night to remember" that it was; his performance was on point, El's vocals sounded as they did in the beginning of his career. The venue that hosted his performance, The Birchmere in Alexandria, VA. offered quality service, food and drink. In the likelihood that El DeBarge should return to Maryland, D.C., or Virginia in the near future we will definitely go to his show.
