EELS Concert Schedule and Tour

With their highly anticipated 11th studio album hitting shelves in 2014, Eels continue to carry the torch for funny yet emotional alternative rock. Packed with clever wordplay and eloquent observations about the comedy of life, songs like "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Your Lucky Day in Hell" garnered the band a serious cult following in the '90s, and nearly 20 years later they've lost none of their incisive wit. True to form, Eels' 2013 shows featured several encore fake outs that saw them repeatedly return to the stage after the crew had begun to breakdown, with all signs pointing to more shenanigans on their 2014 world tour.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed by singer-songwriter Mark Oliver Everett, a.k.a. "E," in 1995, Eels' 1996 debut album Beautiful Freak was a surprise hit, making its way on to the Billboard 200 with catchy alt-rock singles like "Novocaine for the Soul" and "Susan's House." The band's overnight success landed them on tour with the likes of Pulp and Fiona Apple, paving the way for a string of acclaimed albums in the '00s. Following the 2013 release of their tenth studio album Wonderful, Glorious,  the band surprised fans with the announcement of another new album in 2014, coinciding with a summer world tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Eels rocked Webster Hall. Great guitars and drums. amazing sound and lights. And E is always a blast! Fun show all around. These guys never disappoint."

"Great show, the band is really tight. E is dedicated to putting on a great show. They did a big encore at the end that was amazing."

"The Eels never disappoint. They always add a unique spin on their music and presentation"

2017-2018 EELS Venues:

    e...Mister Unpredictable

by jplicks on 9/26/10Royale Boston - Boston

typical e...you never know what a show will be like. i've seen 3 different tours and each time he's a distinctly different person and each tour reflects his mood at the time.. one thing for sure, he doesn't pander to the audience, he does what he wants and i find it fascinating to see where he is at the moment. he's an acquired taste in concert.

    Incredible!

    by samiam3333 on 9/26/10Royale Boston - Boston

All of you who knows EELS, seeing him and his band performing is absolutely fantastic. He started with some of his classic songs, and then started rocking! Turning some of his songs into creative rock tunes.

    Great Show

    by Pattio87 on 9/25/10The National - Richmond

Everything was great, Mr. E rocked it out. Jessica Hoop was lovely. The only reason i gave it 4 stars was because of Trish Dunn's poor puppet skills and lack of funny jokes.

    Incredible!

    by randall13 on 9/25/10The National - Richmond

To say the Eels played to their strengths is an understatement. The expanded lineup that included E, The Chet, Knuckles and a rare appearance by Cool G Murder, facilitated a reproduction of masterfully written songs that more closely resembled the recorded versions. Real cool guitars, sun glasses, hats and beards were in abundance but the songs and their delivery was the piece de resistance for me, Eels were a tight unit that sounded is if they have been playing together for a very long time. They covered most of the popular songs in their catalogue and even threw in a Lovin’ Spoonful cover (Summer in the City) that was timely given the day’s 96 degree temperature. If you missed Eels you missed a really good show and you’ve no one to blame but yourself. Great Show!!

by HAHAC on 9/25/10The National - Richmond

The eels were incredible! The show was amazing!!! However i would like to say the opening acts were the worst! A ventriloquist?????? REALLY??????? The National is a great venue that has been bringing in better shoes to Richmond but the opening acts have got to get better!!!

    EELS

by mailmanmike on 9/25/10The National - Richmond

The EELS show was fantastic!!! He rocked the National with mostly his newer tunes like Fresh Blood, Prize Fighter but also switched around abit with a few of his older songs like, I like Birds, and Dog Faced Boy! E wore a white jump suit and Cool C Murder on bass and Knuckols on drums and he did a song also...well on Knuckols!! Ha! I would much rather listen to Live performances like this than the Recording Studio Finished Product. Too many people think Music should sound like the Records the Artist produce and they are 2-different Birds!! The EELS put on a great show and The National Theater in Richmond is a good place to listen to Live Bands and will be seeing more of them there!!!!!!

    eels at Galaxy Theatre

by Malenois on 8/17/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

A great, great, show. Played songs from the most recent two albums, and a couple from the album due out later this month. Also did a great cover about halfway through the set of "Summer in the City", just awesome. The back-up band was very tight, and all looked so cool in suitcoats and beards! Was lucky enough to catch one of the popcicles tossed to the crowd by E, towards the end of the show. Only complaint: Only two encore songs! Venue was very nice also. Cool place to see a show.

Was expecting more mellow concert. Instead E showed up with more of a regular rock band set up. And rocked the place out. Played more of his upbeat songs and I loved every minute of it. Will try to catch him at least one or two more times during his tour. A must see.

ALWAYS an Awesome show with the Eels

by lukybabygyrl on 8/12/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

Other than the worst opening act I have ever seen in my life the Eels put on a Kick Ass Rock n Roll Show! They never cease to amaze me with their performance, and they just keep getting better and better every time I see them.

Eels - not surprisingly, surprisely extraordinary!

by PJfromLA on 8/6/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

first time...the experience from walking into the old school venue with the weird dinner theater environment to the music choices playing prior to the "oh so painful to watch" ventriloquist to the extraordinary presentation of new and favorites... dreamy... and engaging! See you in October!

    eels are a must-see

by Catgrin on 8/5/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

The eels always change it up for a tour. This time around it's a classic rock band setup with E on lead guitar/vocals supported by rhythm, bass and drum kit. The songs were clean and tight, with very little lead in. E was relaxed and in good voice. This should be a great tour!

    great show

by cmjmusic on 8/4/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

Wow, just wow. The opening act was crap, but Eels blew me away. So many re-interpretations of E's own tunes and some inventive covers. It was amazing. I'm seeing them again when they come to LA in October.

    Eels at the Galaxy.

by 12de12 on 8/4/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

I was a little disappointed with the show. I saw the Eels a couple of years ago when just he and Chet performed and that ranks as one the all time best shows I've ever seen. I liked the Eels before that but that tour a couple of years ago cemented my love for them. Now, that is why I think I was a bit dissatisfied with this show. The venue was cool. The Galaxy but the song selection and line up didn't exactly turn me on. The arrangements were too jumbled up and (I know this will reveal my age) but too loud. They're all good musicians but hard to tell last night. I know it was a warm up show but I hope they do something a little different when they come back to LA. Not very creative like that last tour.

E's music changed my life... again.

by jontheeditor on 8/4/10Galaxy Theatre - Santa Ana

I finally got to see my favorite band of all time... EELS. The venue was killer. A cool little spot nestled away in Orange County, the Galaxy Theater. It was really cool to stand in line and sit with other EELS fans who had their own stories to tell about how E's music has influenced their life. The opening act was just about the worst thing I've seen in my life (a horribly perverted and not at all funny ventriloquist), but once E came out... his music changed my life. Again. The show can only be described as utterly stellar and breathtaking. I had an absolutely amazing time, knew 90% of the songs being played (just didn't know a few new ones from the upcoming album) and had a seriously awesome view. Almost every song I'd wished to be played was played and E never stopped, which turned the Galaxy Theater into a huge wall of gorgeous sound scape . He started small, then went big, then went low, then went high - playing a lot of songs off the recent End Times and Hombre Lobo, but not forgetting to pay homage to Beautiful Freak, Daisies of the Galaxy and Souljacker. He came out for an encore and played two songs from Blinking Lights... I was in awe the whole time. EELS are playing again in October at the Henry Fonda theater and I suggest you get tickets and go.
