What is EchoPark Speedway?
Hampton, Georgia, is home to one of the most iconic tracks in stock car racing and hosts two NASCAR race weekends each year. EchoPark Speedway has been in operation since 1960, and its 1.54 mile quad-oval track has long been known as one of the fastest in motorsports. EchoPark Speedway also hosts Monster Jam, car shows, the Georgia State Fair, local High School Graduations and hundreds of other events throughout the year.
EchoPark Speedway History
Ground was broken in 1958 for what was originally known as Atlanta International Raceway, opening on July 31, 1960, with Fireball Roberts winning the inaugural Dixie 300. From 1960 until 2011, the Speedway was home to two annual NASCAR events: the Atlanta 500 in the spring, and the Dixie 500 in the fall. In 1990, Speedway Motorsports Inc. bought the track, adding condominiums to the course in 1994 and almost completely rebuilding the track in 1997.
Some of the most iconic moments in NASCAR history have taken place at the Speedway. Before the advent of the Race to the Cup, EPS was often the last stop on what is now known as the NASCAR Cup circuit, leading to some incredible finishes to the season. The 1992 Hooters 500 featured Richard Petty's final NASCAR race, Jeff Gordon's NASCAR debut, and a legendary ending in which Bill Elliott won the race, but Alan Kulwicki won the Winston Cup title.

ANY RACE AT ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY IS ALWAYS GREAT!!!! IF YOU HAVEN' T BEEN, YOU NEED TO GIVE IT A SHOT. I LOVE TAKING FRIENDS WHO ARE NOT NASCAR FANS TO THEIR FIRST RACE AND GETTING THEM HOOKED.
Great time was had by my 8 yr old son and myself. We were able to participate in a lot of the activities in the fan zone this year.
The American Warrior was pretty awesome ,but when my friend went to go use his Pitt pass ,they told him the print out I received was not the pass and wouldn't give him further instructions .The pass was $75 and it was basically wasted because they wouldn't let him in with it .
excellent but could be easier to catch tram to get back to car
First time ever been to a nascar race. i enjoy every mintue of it looking forward to next season's race. I'am a race fan now.
Race was fun to watch. I love NASCAR. I would recommend this event to a friend who likes NASCAR. The Atlanta Motor speedway is a great track
My fam and I had a blast, we can't wait to attend our next race. Thanks for making the Labor Day Weekend so special!!
It was great. Our seats were comfortable and plenty of leg space. Great view of the track.
The wife and I had a great time, general admission seating, free swag and great crowd and weather!
I've been to AMS several times and each time it has been an awesome experience. The track provides some of the best racing in NASCAR and the camp grounds are well maintained.
Been to bristol 8 times charlotte once and atlanta and the race at atlanta blew the other out of the water. Way better atmosphere great racing and the speed and lack of grip make it interesting all night. also it was the first ever night race they had at the track
i wasn't sure i should even take this survey but my son and i drove from Florida to watch the race with my father and got rained out. I know you can't control the weather but my job didn't allow for me to stay until tuesday when they ran so we still have two unused tickets.
I was very disappointed when my first race was rained out, after waiting for 3 hours for them to call it, only to be informed that it was rescheduled for Tuesday at 11:00 am! I think this time was very random, and for working people like me, totally impossible. I thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment from Lynyrd Skynyrd!
I purchased tickets for my wife and I for all three NASCAR races at Atlanta Motor Speedway this past Labor Day Weekend. We saw exciting Camping World Truck Series and Nationwide Series races on Friday and Saturday evening. Unfortunately rain on Sunday forced a postponement of the AdvoCare 500 Sprint Cup race to Tuesday. Like many others, we only had accomodations for 3 nights in the Atlanta area and needed to be back in Florida for work on Tuesday. As a result, we missed attending this race. And in NASCAR there are no refunds or rainchecks for another race.
had a great time even after the rain delay it was still a good race it was my kids first race and they are hooked and we will return for future races at atlanta motor speedway
While weather was the cause the move to a workday when Labor Day was open meant no race for my niece in from Ohio. Very disappointing.
The race was exciting and the atmosphere was still great, even with the weather, and the postponement. I gave four stars because my kids missed school, but in the end it was worth it for the kids.
My boyfriend and I were really looking forward to attending this event. We are students at GSU and traveled home solely to attend this race. The weather was no one's fault; however, it could have been rescheduled for a more considerate time. We were planning to attend a weekend night race for a reason. With it being a holiday weekend they should have tried to reschedule it for the holiday or even for a week night. They didn't. It was rescheduled for a Tuesday morning, which isn't convenient for anyone. We thankfully only paid fifty dollars for our tickets, but that was still fifty dollars lost, due to the fact we had to return to school for class. I think this situation could have been handled in a more appropriate manner.
the thing was it was a rain out from the oringal date and when i went to the post poned race on tues everything was gone all the sprint trailers the fan veiws and all the set up cars all was gone so the expreince wasnent there
