About

E-40 is one of the original innovators of Bay Area rap, helping the musical style gain a national following with his flamboyant raps and homegrown talent. His flourishing concerts have gained him a reputation for packing houses and filling up clubs with his irreverent attitude and off-the-hook style. He raps into his mic and waves his hands back and forth to get his audience reeling. His tours bring in crowds who love to dance, so if you have a ticket to an E-40 concert, make sure you’re ready to be on your feet all night. You can hear new tunes by this Bay Area rapper on his recently released album The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil Parts 4, 5 & 6.

Born in Vallejo, CA, E-40 began as an underground artist, but emerged into the mainstream Bay Area rap scene in the mid-90s. His solo album A Wider Way brought him national attention among rap fans, and by 1998, he was collaborating with other local rap artists. E-40's popularity officially took off in 2006 when he released "Tell Me When to Go," a single produced by Lil Jon. His album My Ghetto Report Card reached No. 3 on The Billboard Hot 200 that same year. E-40 is also well-known for his collaborations, particularly recording "Snap Yo Fingers" with Lil Jon and Sean P of YoungBloodz, which reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100. It’s hard to find artists who are as beloved around the country as they are in their hometowns, but E-40 has done a fantastic job of garnering love locally and nationally with his down and dirty jams.

    Very short acts!

by beatsfiend on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

This show was poorly executed from the start. First it was the audio problems. 69 Boyz were performing when the audio went completely out, for 15 mins or so. Then it kept going in and out throughout the show. Also, each performer only played like 4 songs. DMX was a no-show and they cut the concert really early at 11pm! N2Deep came out and played their only hit "Back to the Hotel," that was pretty much the highlight of the show.

    Dissappointed

by Anonymous on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

They didn't do a sound check before the show started....The intermission DJ was horrible!!! The best group was Bone Thugz and Harmony....E4o only did four songs and got off the stage stating "It wasn't his fault"

    DMX Who?

    by Usmc30 on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

Sound was horrible for the duration of the concert. So much so that the Luniz refused to play I got 5 on it until they fixed it. DMX didn't perform. The headliner, E40 only played about 3 songs before he abruptly left the stage announcing that they had to shutdown at 11. Worst planning I've seen at a concert. For the price I payed to see this I will never consider an E40 concert again. Bone thugs on the other hand were legit and deserve credit.

    Waste of money

by ElmoMom on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

Sound system kept going out. Couldn't hear the performance. Main act E40 barely on stage for 5 minutes. Told us everyone cut into his time and left. DMX was a no show. Worst concert I've been to.

    not what i expected

by funzsize on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

This was probably the most disappointed I have been. the location could not get the sound together and the performances were very short. I feel like I wasted my money.

Performers good, but sound was aweful

by Anonymous on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

the performers were really good, the line up was really good. Dmx didn't show up, and that's fine with me. But the sound was horrific. You couldn't hear the actual song, you could only hear them singing. And the mics kept cutting off there performance, during the middle of the songs. The entertainers were pissed too.

There was a sound issue throughout the event. It was really annoying and poor prepping. E40's set was extremely short, which almost ruined the whole event for me. If Bone Thugs & Harmony hadn't done so well I would have given the event 0-1 star. = /

    Show was garbage

by CandyWright on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

When you go to a show where E40 is headlining, you expect to see a great E40 show! The opening acts were on stage longer than him. He graced the stage for maybe 10 min. He did snippets of maybe 4 songs. Awful! DJ Quick was good. Aside from that, I have nothing positive to say about this show.

    Would not recommend

by CherylGarcia on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

The seating was terrible. Ushers didn't know where to direct people. People were sitting in our seats and it was very uncomfortable. Alcohol lines were long, bartenders were slow. The show itself was sub par. The host DJ was terrible with the red jacket. Even my 13 year old daughter could do a better job DJing in between artist. Eventually when E40 came on, it was like he was rushed. He did maybe 4-5 songs and the lights cut on at 11pm. I would not go again or recommend.

    This show sucked

    by Mroakland911 on 4/26/16Oracle Arena - Oakland

There were to many sound issues and E40 was the most disappointing with such a short set. I feel cheated like I got hustled. This makes me not want to buy another E40 album ever or support his artists.

Very disappointed that DMX was unable to make it. Very good lineup, however E40 was cut short for an unknown reason. This was very upsetting since he was the headliner of the show. Also, the sound at the Oracle needs to be updated. The nice kept going out and the music volume up and down. This is really not a good look for the Bay Area.

    E40 @ The Key Club

by bcaryns on 5/3/12Key Club - West Hollywood

When E40 did come out it was amazing, however, the Key Club lacked in ever essence of the word. I bought VIP tickets which was a waste of money because it was packed...standing only, so I went towards the stage and had better seats. Should of just bought regular admission tickets... I listened to 4 hours of no name artists and 30 minutes of E40. I didn't pay to hear them...I paid to see E40. I was super disappointed!

    E-40 is Great!

by LThangtime on 4/28/12Key Club - West Hollywood

E-40 was great! The club was sold over capacity! There were a lot of people! The acts before him were not so great but E-40 took it over! Even got to meet him after show was over and he was real cool! Allowed me to take a pic and everything

    Wasn't a good show.

by Anonymous on 4/9/124th and B - San Diego

I love these artist but it was wack. The venue sucked the crowd was like a gangster party. It was similar to a talent show for the groups that performed before E-40 and short. On top of that they didn't perform until after 11pm and told everyone to be there at 8. Ticketmmaster should reimburse everyone who paid money for that show.
