About

E-40 is one of the original innovators of Bay Area rap, helping the musical style gain a national following with his flamboyant raps and homegrown talent. His flourishing concerts have gained him a reputation for packing houses and filling up clubs with his irreverent attitude and off-the-hook style. He raps into his mic and waves his hands back and forth to get his audience reeling. His tours bring in crowds who love to dance, so if you have a ticket to an E-40 concert, make sure you’re ready to be on your feet all night. You can hear new tunes by this Bay Area rapper on his recently released album The Block Brochure: Welcome to the Soil Parts 4, 5 & 6.

Born in Vallejo, CA, E-40 began as an underground artist, but emerged into the mainstream Bay Area rap scene in the mid-90s. His solo album A Wider Way brought him national attention among rap fans, and by 1998, he was collaborating with other local rap artists. E-40's popularity officially took off in 2006 when he released "Tell Me When to Go," a single produced by Lil Jon. His album My Ghetto Report Card reached No. 3 on The Billboard Hot 200 that same year. E-40 is also well-known for his collaborations, particularly recording "Snap Yo Fingers" with Lil Jon and Sean P of YoungBloodz, which reached the Top 10 on Billboard's Hot 100. It’s hard to find artists who are as beloved around the country as they are in their hometowns, but E-40 has done a fantastic job of garnering love locally and nationally with his down and dirty jams.

    Too fast

    by Little T on 12/12/23Golden 1 Center - Sacramento

It was a nice event. But most artist came out and just didn't have time to be themselves and talk. Ut was sing and jump off the stage. They seemed too timed and in a blink of the eye the next person came out.

    My opinion

by Chiyoko on 12/12/23Golden 1 Center - Sacramento

Way too long they don’t need that many performers all at once… Was over the concert before E-40 even was on stage

Had fun but couldn't see performers

    by Skye V on 12/12/23Golden 1 Center - Sacramento

Bought these tickets for a girls night out experience. We grew up on all they artists so were so excited to see each performer. But that's the missing piece...we didn't get to "see"the performer. There was only one jumbo screen and only "some"artists were shown on it. Even the v101.1 hosts were not put on the big screen when were talking. Had we know we weren't going to be able to see everyone performing we could've just stayed home and played their music.

    V101 Holiday Jam 2023

    by Mindy T. on 12/12/23Golden 1 Center - Sacramento

The performances were great, there were no technical problems or anything that would or could delay the show. Security was great at making sure everyone was in the correct seats. I love that alcohol was cut off at a certain time and that there was only a one drink minimum that could be served at one time. They kept any obnoxious or ignorant behavior under control. Staff was very professional and courteous as well. Excellent job!!

    Coulda did a little better

by Do better on 12/12/23Golden 1 Center - Sacramento

I wish E-40 would have stood out and performed more. He was the real reason we got the tickets. Everything else was great. Mya slowed down the performance as well but I could live with that. Drinks are hella expensive better drink somewhere else for cheaper. 2 double shot drinks 80 bucks ridiculous. Lines were long even with paying for VIP.

    Unorganized mess

by Green on 5/12/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

This is the most unorganized concert I have ever been to. Noone knew what they were doing...so much lag time in-between artits, couldnt even see the screen , $18 for one drink. Overall very unsatisfied with my purchase.

    Bay Area Artists Did That

    by K. S. on 5/11/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

Thoroughly enjoyed the show, E40, Too Short, Next and Lloyd did the damn thing. The critiques I do have is the No bag policy; I made sure to bring the smallest bag possible but was notified by other patrons that we could not bring any bags in. Also the taxes applied to food and beverages is ridiculous and some signage does not clearly indicate the actual price of an item which ultimately leads to really outrageous payments. Positive critiques is Stockton Arena has really good speedy security lines the wait was very short and it could have been due to the time we arrived but I enjoyed the fact that we were in and out of security within a minute or less. Parking wasn’t too chaotic either

    Yay Area!!!

    by N. A. on 5/10/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

I don't think R&B acts should be mixed with Hip hop acts. Felt like an emotional roller-coaster. Also, DJ Quick going after E40 was blasphemous! People left after E40 because they thought it was over.

    Very fun experience

by Lala on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

Entry was fast and simple because I followed the no bag rule. My seats were fantastic. I could see the stage clear. I enjoyed every performance. They had a lot of state presence and really got the crowd hyped. Security was protective of the artist and ensured everyone was safe. I enjoyed myself.

    Good vibes

    by G on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

I had a good time, it’s my 1st time going to that area and E40 had it lit, well all the artist were good. It was kind of long but overall I had a ball. I didn’t like that I couldn’t bring my purse in there and had to walk all the way back to the car in heels.

    Sound

by Sunflowermama on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

The sound was horrible but the artists were great to see. The sound every time I new artist came on to the stage the sound was messed up and it made a loud sound. It was annoying. Also, the respond time for medical attention from the emt was not fast enough for someone that needed the attention quickly. Another thing was the bag policy was not fair for everyone some people where able to bring in bag and majority of people had to shove their stuff into their pockets or other places that are uncomfortable for 6+ hours.

    Mic check!!

by Scotty on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

Too many Issues with the sound and microphones on stage! For an event like the Stockton Jam U should have been more prepared and been more on point! Also, there was a lot of empty seats and then found out the seats went cheaper just before the show, what the hell!!! The sequence of performers was not in order either and U guys had long intermission’s!!???

    Stockton Music Jam

by Becca on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

Floor seating was very unorganized. I spent $450 & was unable to use my seats because everyone from the back rows came forward & was crowding. Waste of money.

Good line up, sound system sucked

    by 209 on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

The lineup could have been organized a lot better, rap to r&b then back to rap it was to much vibe switching and then we had to listen to the mic squealing during all the sounds checks for every performance. E-40 and too short always get the crowd goin!!!!

    Unorganized

by Jchav on 5/9/23Stockton Arena - Stockton

Concert started ok but the last few sets had severe technical issues causing loud mic ringing. Stage crew was unprepared taking sets down and then putting back up before performance even started. Big amount of the concert wasted on all the issues. Also, we had to walk back to vehicle to take our purses because venue rules showed we could bring a small bag and at check in they told us no but allowed others to bring in bags. Disappointed since we waited for this concert for a friends birthday.
