About

Raised on the Bakersfield honky tonk of Buck Owens and traditional country like Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, Dwight Yoakam has created more than a dozen studio albums of his own self-described hillbilly music over nearly four decades. On his 2012 collection, “3 Pears,” the Kentucky-born performer reached out to Kid Rock and Ashley Monroe of Pistol Annies for co-writing help on a couple songs, while Beck co-produced the successful set.

Ticket buyers know a slew of Yoakam singles when they head to his concerts — from the chart-topping “Guitars Cadillacs” from the similarly-titled 1986 debut and “I Sang Dixie” off of 1988’s “Buenas Noches from a Lonely Room” to 1993’s “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere.” And when he’s not on the tour bus canvassing the nation, the singer/songwriter may be on a movie set. His acting credits include critically acclaimed roles as an abusive boyfriend in “Sling Blade” and a psychopath killer in “Panic Room.”

  • One of the best!

    by Heidi G on 11/7/25Tucson Arena - TucsonRating: 5 out of 5

My mom wanted to see Dwight Yoakam so I took her to the concert and honestly, I didn't realize how much I wanted to see him. He is a wonderful showman and the concert was absolutely amazing.. if I had to do it all over again I would've bought my ticket sooner so I could've been closer to the front.

  • Way too loud

by bobsburgersfan on 10/23/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 4 out of 5

The entire concert was way too loud, like unnecessarily loud. Then the sound guy sucked because there was plenty of time where there were huge feedback issues with dwight Yaokum, not for Marcus King of LLB

  • Awesome Concert!

I was so glad that I was finally able to go see Dwight Yoakam live! He sounds exactly like he does on his records! I grew up listening to him and have always wanted to go see him live. If you love Dwight Yoakam, go see him live! You won’t regret it 😊 He is funny and entertaining too!

  • Artists were excellent, venue is great, sound mix horrible

by Rob on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 2 out of 5

Los Lonley Boys were very good. Marcus King band was fantastic except for the horrific sound levels. Seems the technicians were going for the highest volume just shy of distortion. Had to leave my seat during Marcus King opening song. Dwight Yoakam was a little better however again his vocals were unnecessarily way too loud just shy of distortion

  • So Disappointing

by Shelly on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 2 out of 5

We were so excited to see and hear Dwight live for the first time, because we’ve been fans for decades. Of course, we knew he would play new music, and that was great. What shocked us was that he played none of the songs that made him famous- not one! We had expected to hear some or all of the following: Guitars and Cadillacs, Streets of Bakersfield, Honky Tonk Man, Little Sister, 1,000 Miles, Little Ways, Suspicious Minds, Aint Lonely Yet, or I Sang Dixie. When he left the stage after singing for only one hour, we just knew he was coming back for an encore with some familiar songs. Instead, the lights came up and it was time to leave! What happened? We looked up his play lists from the preceding nights in Houston and Oklahoma, and we learned that he HAD played his hits at those venues. We will be back to your wonderful venue, but not if he’s playing. To end on a positive note, Los Lobos played an amazing set!

  • Terrible sound - no backdrop

by bkpeary on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 1 out of 5

We love the Moody. Saw the Eagles there a couple of years back. Excellent sound, beautiful backdrop with screens where you could see what was going on, on the stage from 60 yards away from the stage. Then a year or so later, we saw the Doobie Brothers. No backdrop, terrible sound, our seats got moved due to low attendance. We left after 3 songs The folks at The Moody did respond to our complaint and invited us to another concert. Props to that. For the Los Lonely Boys, Marcus King Dwight Yoakam, it was back to terrible sound, rushed sets, zero backdrop or LED screens. The sound mix was just blasting. No separation, vocals overrun by the noise created by a bad mix. If the production of a show is based on seats being filled, maybe The Moody should book these acts at Moody Theatre or Waterloo. I just can't see every going back to see a concert here. We left 4 songs into Dwight. Couldn't take it anymore. Side note, even though the Manor garage was quiet when we went to leave, the signage getting out of the garage is confusing.

  • Not Expected

by Disappointed on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 2 out of 5

While the performance was good from a technical perspective, he played none of his best songs. We expected 3-4 of his top songs mixed in with whatever he was playing but we were disappointed. Maybe he planned them for the last 20 minutes but when he shut down after 55 minutes, we were left to listen on the radio. We read that his set lists from other venues were more traditional and contained several of his best songs.

  • Dwight Yoakum…ICON!

by JKetchum on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 5 out of 5

Longtime fan, finally able to see Dwight live…worth the wait! My husband became a fan during the show. We loved the show and opening acts, Los Lonely Boys and Marcus King!

  • Unable to go because of No Kings Parade disruption.

by Sue on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 1 out of 5

We love Dwight Yoakum and gave seen him many times. This time we drove 1200 miles to see him. Unfortunately, Austin's No Kings Protest, law enforcement, blocked roads and full parking garages because of the parade made this impossible. We turned around and left. 300.00 worth if tickets in the trash can.

  • Loved Dwight. Hated the experience.

by Annie on 10/21/25Moody Center ATX - AustinRating: 3 out of 5

Parking is a nightmare. Warm up bands too long and boring. We considered leaving and not even waiting for Dwight.

Opening act was amazing. Dwight was good… I’d pay to see Ben Haggard again.

  • Excellent concert

by Oscav on 10/6/25Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - AlbuquerqueRating: 5 out of 5

Dwight Yoakum put on an excellent performance. He’s still as talented as ever and his band is great, his guitarist was excellent and put on a show during the concert. Really enjoyed the performance.

  • Love Deight

by Skb on 10/6/25Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center - AlbuquerqueRating: 4 out of 5

Dwight puts on a great show. His guitarist is amazing. Loved the small venue. My only issue was Dwight's voice was a little muffled. His words were hard to understand. Still enjoyed the concert.

  • Horrible sound management

by CountrymusicLover on 10/4/25PNC PAVILION - CincinnatiRating: 1 out of 5

We were totally dissatisfied and disappointed with the show not because Dwight and his band quality but the poor sound management. It was way too loud on the whole and screeching. Even when the guitar player was playing solo, we couldn’t recognize it from the horribly loud sound of everyone else. We paid a lot for the tickets and I want the money back.

  • Fantastic

by Flamingal on 10/3/25Canton Civic Center - CantonRating: 5 out of 5

Dwight played for 2 solid hours and what a fantastic show! I am so happy I bought these tickets for my husband's birthday! Dwight is a great entertainer!!

  • Opening performances bad. Dwight was GREAT!

by Pojo on 10/3/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 2 out of 5

The opening performances (Pony Bradshaw and Los Lobos) were too long and too loud. The bass and speakers were so loud and POUNDING that you could not hear the singing. The noise was actually painful to the ears and I had to sit in the concession area to get away from it. DWIGHT YOAKUM was fantastic though, and his band wasn't as loud. He was fun to watch and sounded great. Sitting through the first two bands was agonizing, and hard to go through to wait for Dwight. Not sure we would pay that much money to sit through the pain in the future. Although it was a nonsmoking venue, there were people around us smoking pot. So, it wasn't the best experience.

  • Dwight didn't disappoint

by Live Music Lover on 10/1/25The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber HeightsRating: 5 out of 5

Great night for a concert at the Rose in Huber Heights, Ohio. First acts were not that great, but Dwight and his band made up for it. He sang and played and sang and played some more. More fun as he went on.... even did a little of his signature leg movement! Came back out for an encore too. 2nd time I have seen him and both times he was awesome. Dwight doesn't disappoint! Some of his songs still playing in my head days after!

  • Too Loud
