About

Duran Duran have been international pop icons for over 30 years, penning such instantly recognizable '80s hits as "Rio" and "Hungry Like a Wolf." Their concerts are exciting, high-energy affairs where fans can come as they are and rock out to songs that speak to them. Performances are often held in large venues where fans can sit enjoy the ambiance while singing along with the band. Ticket holders were thrilled in 2011 when original band members reunited to cut the  band's newest album, All You Need Is Now. Even better, in 2012, Duran Duran released a live recording of its Diamond in the Mind tour, so fans could relive the excitement of seeing the band in person.

Duran Duran's career began in 1978, and the band quickly rose to top-10 status several times over in the early 1980s, in part thanks to being one of the first bands to make music videos for broadcast on MTV. Shortly after creating a controversy with their "Girls on Film" video, which was considered too risqué at the time, Duran Duran decided to test the American market. They proved to be equally popular abroad and at home, and a pop sensation was born. Throughout the '80s and '90s, the band continued to produce new hits. They are best known for "Hungry Like a Wolf," "Rio" and other songs with strong beats and distinctive lyrics. Since Duran Duran has endured for so many years, going to a concert can be a bonding experience for parents and children, who can both enjoy the band's distinctive sound.

    D2 TOTALLY DELIVERED!!!

by PJH313 on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Beautiful venue, easy to get in and out of. The talent? Better than EVER! They still put on a great show, this one was truly for the fans...no promo's to push...just us! What I DON'T get at any outdoor venue is why people pay good money to come and get trashed and NOT pay attention to the show? Who does that at this stage of life?...I'm a fan..what I am not is...not trying to relive 1984 and get hammered at a show!! I can enjoy a few cocktails and loosen up to have fun, but I will remember the performance, the company I keep and not step on anyones toes. So glad they came to Seattle and played such an amazing venue....now if we could just screen out the stupid people!!

Duran Duran - Better with Age!

by Scooby on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Duran Duran truly gets better with age. They are consumate peformers - tearing through their hits with relish and loving every moment. New guitarist Dom Brown fits in with Roger, Simon, Nick and John without even a passing thought about Andy Taylor. The Summer Tour pulls out almost all of the hits - only missing a few like "Is There Something I Should Know" and "New Moon on Monday." They even pull an Arcadia song from their extensive catalog and back-up singer Anna Ross gets a chance to channel Grace Jones. These boys are not to be missed.

    Duran Duran keeps going strong

by Kirsten on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

What a great way to end a holiday weekend. Four of the original five members of the band on a short summer tour that started at Marymoor Park just outside of Seattle. Simon sounded great, as did John, Roger and Nick. A great variety of old and new music, including a James Bond medley that lead to a very slowed down version of "A View To A Kill." Some of the song transitions were a little off, but it was a great show overall.

    Flashback to the 80s

by ferzkopp on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

After being Duran-Duran'ed thoroughly during my youth, to go to this concert so close to home - I live around the corner from the stage - was a must. And a great flashback it was! They played the whole setlist they are known for plus some "skeletons out of the closet with some meat added" for a good 2 hours. Venue was great and the folks attending also - the concert had two wrinkles: opening act dind't crank up the mood as much as they could have and there was a 5sec feedback-glitch in the audio system at one point.

    Duran Duran does it again!

by Sunseeker on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

This was my 3rd Duran Duran show in the past 3 years. What an incredible band, and a great show! You always wonder when a band gets back together after so long, if they will sound the same or as good. Duran Duran does both. They sing as though they were still in their 20's, with the same passion and fun as in my youth. They are also still beautiful to look at, and have a great rapport with the crowd. Being outside and enjoying the outdoors for this event just made it sweeter. As Simon LeBon said last night, "We like to think of ourselves as the cherry on top of the cake on your holiday weekend!" I am a very grateful and happy fan!!! Much love to Duran Duran.

    Amazing live act!

by Blogography on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Duran Duran has to be one of the best live acts going, with a performance so faithful that it could have come right out of a studio. Simon Le Bon and crew tore through 19 of the band's most popular songs, giving the crowd exactly what they wanted to hear. Truly an unforgettable concert for Duran Duran fans or anybody who loves 80's music. Can't wait to see them again!

    Duran Duran: well done

by kjk911 on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

It is nice when a band sounds like their record, particularly when they are on the tail side of their career. It was funny to feel like I was at a bad high school reunion. The music was entertaining and Simon had great step in his performance. It is what you would expect and more, go if you enjoyed their greatest hits or are one of those that actually knew the words to the handful of random songs they played.
