About

Duran Duran have been international pop icons for over 30 years, penning such instantly recognizable '80s hits as "Rio" and "Hungry Like a Wolf." Their concerts are exciting, high-energy affairs where fans can come as they are and rock out to songs that speak to them. Performances are often held in large venues where fans can sit enjoy the ambiance while singing along with the band. Ticket holders were thrilled in 2011 when original band members reunited to cut the  band's newest album, All You Need Is Now. Even better, in 2012, Duran Duran released a live recording of its Diamond in the Mind tour, so fans could relive the excitement of seeing the band in person.

Duran Duran's career began in 1978, and the band quickly rose to top-10 status several times over in the early 1980s, in part thanks to being one of the first bands to make music videos for broadcast on MTV. Shortly after creating a controversy with their "Girls on Film" video, which was considered too risqué at the time, Duran Duran decided to test the American market. They proved to be equally popular abroad and at home, and a pop sensation was born. Throughout the '80s and '90s, the band continued to produce new hits. They are best known for "Hungry Like a Wolf," "Rio" and other songs with strong beats and distinctive lyrics. Since Duran Duran has endured for so many years, going to a concert can be a bonding experience for parents and children, who can both enjoy the band's distinctive sound.

by eliljeg on 7/7/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Great venue with smooth parking and admission. So so opening band, but Duran Duran rocked! Would have loved a 2nd encore though. They stopped right at 10pm and didn't play their 2 most recent hits.

    Duran Duran Still Got It!

by Gman13 on 7/7/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

These 80s legends sound as good as ever and haven't lost a step! The crowd was on their feet dancing to every song and I enjoyed every minute of it. They know what songs that fans want to hear, which is their popular stuff from the 80s, and they didn't disappoint. I can't say this for a lot of singers or bands out there, but Duran Duran sound awesome live, almost as good as their studio recordings. I would recommend to go see them if you can, you won't regret it!

by Trixie123 on 7/7/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

I have seen DD 5 times spanning from early 80,s in UK. Marymoor Park was my favourite venue yet. They all look and sound as good as ever.New lead guitarist was superb and looked like he belonged with them. They all seemed to be genuinely enjoying themselves. The crowd stood the whole time, and we all sang along. Played all my favourites, and a new live one,Election Day. Come back soon ..........

by Scubagirl34 on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Duran Duran's show at Marymoor was a great one. They did a few newer songs, but mostly stuck with the classics. It brought be back to my high school days for sure. They've still got it!

    Another awesome show

by Catherine on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

I've seen Duran Duran six times over the years, in every lineup they've had. This show was just as entertaining as the other five. If I didn't know that they had been touring almost non stop since last spring, I never would've have guessed. Simon is still the showman, though he isn't as lithe as he was when he was twenty six. He can still shake his booty. What I loved most was the music. Even though this particular set was slightly different than when I saw them last year, they still picked the right mix of older and newer songs to make you wanna dance. They smartly played most of their older music, while playing the more recognizable of their newer hits, i.e. Ordinary world, Come undone, and Reach up for the sunrise. They did have one unexpected song in their set: Election Day, an Arcadia song. Since Arcadia never toured. It was the first time they ever played it live. I was definitely glad for that song alone. The only maudlin period of the show was when the band did the brief musical tribute to the late Michael Jackson. I didn't know the song, and I don't think anyone in the crowd knew it either. The only thing I didn't like about the show, was the opening act. They were cutsy, but such a let down after seeing their previous opening act Your Vegas. I much better band. If you love their music, and love dancing with thousands of other people, just having fun and hanging out., this is a great show to attend

Duran Duran, even better than in the 80s!

by Dylan on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

I feel so lucky to have been at the kickoff of Duran Duran's 2009 tour. It was even better than last year's Red Carpet Massacre show! Simon's vocals (and the entire performance) are better than ever. Duran Duran are a truly classic unnderrated band with songs that are more relevant than ever in the new millenium. And as Simon says -- Duran Duran is the band designed to make you party!

    Duran Duran was Amazing!!

by RioGirl on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

The energy of the 80's was brought back to life at this Duran Duran concert. It was a lot of fun to hear and dance to Duran Duran's most popular tunes from their various albums. The crowd went wild when "Rio" and "Girls of Film" were sung. Their voices hed up amazingly well given it's been 20+ years since I've last seen them. In my opinion, the instrumental elements of the songs were perfect. (They sounded just like they used to in the 80's.) Only disappointment was "Is There Something I Should Know" wasn't played during the set or encore. Great fun to dance to as well !!

    Let the Good Times Roll

by MaryAlice313 on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

I took my older sister to the Duran Duran concert since she had been such a huge fan when she was in High School. I never thought I would be the one trying to rush the stage at the end of the night. The whole night was amazing the location at Marymoor Park was arranged nice with food, beverages and a good seating arrangement. The crowd that night was outgoing and it seemed like everyone was having a blast enjoying the music and dancing around without a care.

    Duran Duran

by Tooty on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Music was really good - nice to hear the older tunes. There were moments when Mr.Le Bon's voice seemed stretched, and I laughed when he got off beat and skipped a whole stanza of lyrics! Guess they are human after all! I very much enjoyed myself!

    duran duran still groovin'

by doctorb on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Duran Duran may be getting long in the tooth, but they can still get their groove on. The crowd was on their feet and dancing the entire show. The crowd particularly liked the biggest hits. The show was family friendly for the most part with some unnecessary expletives thrown in at the end. For the small size of the venue, the light show was decent. The sound system was adequate. Overall a fun night.

Duran Duran just gets better with age!

by IAmAConcertLover on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

I have loved Duran Duran since I was a teen. This is the third time I've seen them in the past 4 years, and they are just fantastic! I know a lot of older bands can't sing or put on a show the way they used to, but Duran Duran still has it. They play all of the old favorites, so you don't feel like you're missing out if you're not familiar with their newer stuff.

The boys were as great as ever!

by Kitt on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

Great venue - great show! Simon and John were not more than 25 feet away from me! It was surreal to see them after all of these years. They were right there and close! The guys looked and sounded great and played a terrific set. They played everything you would want them to play from the past 25 years! It was amazing! And when they went from "Hungry Like The Wolf" to "Rio" - it couldn't be much better! Simon's voice still has it! They really keep the energy up and the show flew by. Too bad they are only on the road for two weeks this year and the East Coast of US will miss out. Glad I live in the Pacific Northwest to see my favorite band of all time - outdoors under a fabulous clear blue sky. Great show guys!

    They still got it!

by Justjenrose on 7/6/09Concerts At Marymoor - Redmond

I have seen Duran Duran before, but this show was the best. Like Simon said "This was the cherry to end a Forth of July weekend." He was so right. When Simon also said that they like to go through there closet and pull out some skeletons. I never thought that they would do an Arcadia song. That was the cherry indeed. They still got it!
