    Brought the phunk!

by Anonymous on 3/20/18Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

Great energy, atmosphere and crowd were awesome. If I had rhythm it'd be considered dancing but I don't. However I was flailing the entire show and loving every second of it! Might not have been a pretty site for those behind me but there's no way you can stand still during their show. Bring the dumpsta back to Philly soon!!! Thanks for a great show and memorable night!

    Dumpstaphunk

by KJSunshine on 11/30/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

A fantastic pre-Thanksgiving show!!!! Dumpstaphunk had the crowd grooving. Brandon "Taz" Niederauer was a fabulous surprise. This kid has some major talent. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for him in the future. Venue was great - not a bad seat in the house.

    FUN NIGHT

by DOCJT on 3/3/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

It was a fun night at BB King’s with good seats, interesting people at our table and good music. Dumpstaphunk was fantastic and brought a real New Orleans flavor and fantastic energy. Kermit Ruffins is always great but we were disappointed that he didn’t play more of the New Orleans music. He is great with jazz and some funk, but we have heard him in New Orleans and it was a better show.

    Late Show Loses Gas

by hunter564 on 3/3/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Although I knew there'd be at least one opening band, it was disappointing that the main act - Dumpstaphunk - didn't get on stage until 11:30. By then a lot of the energy had dissipated. And Dumpstaphunk didn't try hard enough to get it back. I also blame the High and Mighty Brass Band. They were the first act and they killed. Lots of positive energy, great horns, tight - and best of all, you could tell they were really enjoying themselves. Same as the BBQ Swingers. Although not quite the passion of High and Mighty, Kermit put on a solid show but went on a bit too long covering, i'm guessing, for Dumpstaphunk's absence. I'm giving 4 stars to High and Mighty. 3 to Kermit and the Swingers and 2 stars to Dumpstaphunk.

    Kermit was disappointing

by snayllee on 3/3/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

Was looking forward to some Mardi Gras jazz and funk at BB Kings, one of my favorite venues in NYC. The opener, High & Mighty Brass Band, was pretty solid, a good warmup band. Kermit came out and played a couple of quality New Orleans songs, like you would expect when you see him in NoLa, but after that, we lost interest. He covered Black-Eyed Peas and Tupac!?! And even disappeared off stage to have some woman take over for a couple of songs. She was good, but not what I was there to see. After 2 hours (way too long), Dumpstaphunk finally came on and they were AMAZING. Unfortunately, we had to leave a little early to catch the last bus home.

Dumpstaphunk and Anders Osborne, et al.

by DaneelStreet on 11/6/12Howard Theatre - Washington

I am not a JamBand fanatic, but put some NOLA roots and funk on the bill and I am there. John Kadlecik and Keller Williams were unknown to me, but enjoyable. However -- blown away (as usual) by Anders and Dumpstaphunk. They are outrageous! Also, The Howard is very classy (not a venue I would normaly expect to see these guys playing -- not that they aren't classy, but it's usually more f*u*n*k*y and narsty (and more rugged 'cuz people dance hard) -- still the venue was beautiful and food was excellent. Would def. go back to The Howard and will def. see Anders and Dumpstaphunk again, and again, and again.

Dumpstaphunk Phunked Up The Hard Rock!

by Novelist73 on 3/25/11Hard Rock Cafe - Las Vegas

This was my first time seeing Dumpstaphunk in person. For the price of only $15 per ticket, I thought that this would be a good show to see, and since I sampled their music and loved what I heard I decided that I wanted to attend this show. My sister and I came into this event a little bit after 8:00pm to the opening act being on stage. The place was only 20% full, and only picked up to about 40% overall, so there was plenty of space to move around. The opening act lasted longer than I thought it would, which was an hour. I'm all for opening acts, but I don't feel that they should last for an hour, because that could be time for the headliner. I also felt that even though the music was good and even had a few upbeat tempos in it, along with belly dancers, it just wasn't a good fit for the show that I came to see. I think everyone would've enjoyed a funk band as an opening act. They didn't sing and the one guy who spoke sounded drunk. After about a half-hour of this, I was bored and so was my sister and we started walking around the venue and taking pictures as if we were tourists, LOL. And I have to point out that the venue was so empty while the opening act was going on that one of the bartenders came up to my sister and I and asked us if we wanted a drink, LOL. Now I've never had a bartender come out from behind the bar and ask me if I wanted a drink- that was a first! I did get one, btw. But finally when Dumpstaphunk came on, they really held it down and the crowd was into it. They played a lot of their hits and their songs had a lot of good messages in them. Towards the end they let at least six women come up on stage with them, but after a while, it was more than six, LOL. They were on stage for 2 hours so it was a good show for the money so I feel that I definitely got my moneys worth, considering the fact that for most shows that I pay to go to I've paid 2-3x as much and don't even get an hour of the artist's time. They're great performers and I will go see them again, it's too bad the venue didn't fill like the way it should've, but I had a good time and love their music!
