Had a great time at the Prince Tribute! The orchestra performed well along with the tribute band.
Left during intermission, wasn’t worth staying for,. It was a waste of $118 for two tickets, wish we could’ve gotten a refund!!
This was our first time attending a Symphony concert. It was Wonderful! The music was beautiful and kept you captivated for the entire time. I look forward to sharing this experience with other friends in the future. Definitely worth the trip!
Thanks goodness for classical musicians and funding for the arts. Very nice performance.
This was my first time for me to attend a symphony. I thoroughly enjoyed it! The solo violinist in the second set, was fantastic! My husband and I especially loved the Sibelius section of the symphony the best. Can't wait to attend future symphonies!
The Almost Elton John had a fabulous voice and was quite an entertainer. The orchestra was also very lovely. We sat in the balcony and the sound was very poor. Sir Almost Elton John's voice for the most part was drowned out by the music. He did a couple of songs with only the piano and he is a most gifted singer.
It was one of the best shows I have seen. Great music an overall 5 Star performance. Thanks for kicking off 2017 !
couldn't have picked a better first symphony. I loved every minute of it.
My husband and I live in the Twin Cities, but we make a point of getting to Duluth a few times every year to hear the DSSO. The performance last weekend was amazing! Absolutely beautiful to all senses.
This was the first time I heard the "Four Seasons " being performed live. It was surreal!
Time for Three was one of the finest group of professionals to grace our stage. Holding my breath for them to stand up, take center stage and play their hearts out. Amazing!
Took my boys (16 & 17 years old) to this event. Wasn't to sure how they would respond. It was great, we loved the beginning to the end. My younger son was very interested and learned a lot, and my older son loved the experience of it. DSSO did an amazing job and you could tell a lot of work went into there production. Would love to see them play again. Thanks DSSO.
The concert was amazing. I liked the mix of opera, foreign and pop music played at this concert. The addition of the Twin Ports Tenors and Space Carpet were really fantastic. The best live performance I've been to in a long time.
My husband and I, along with my parents, thoroughly enjoyed the evening with the DSSO and Michael Andrew 's classy style. Good job, Duluth!
We were a party of six and everyone of us so enjoy the evening! Michael Andrew was fabulous, singing and sounding like Dean Martin, Bobby Darren and especially Frank Sinatra. The orchestra was fabulous as always. Finishing the night with New York New York and ending with My Way was just the capping of a fabulous night.
The symphony was amazing! This was my first time sitting in the balcony. To be honest I was nervous about our seats but was pleasantly surprised by the acoustics and how well the sound permeated the venue. The Frank Sinatra concert was interactive, making it fun and leaving us with the feeling that we were a part of it.
Of course, The Wizard of Oz is one of my all-time favorite films so that was a plus from the start. I was curious to see how the interaction between the orchestra and the film was going to work out and I must say it was very well done. There were a couple of parts where the music lagged slightly from the film but it was barely noticeable and the orchestra got back on track quickly. I overheard a couple of people saying they were so absorbed in the film they forgot that the orchestra was playing because it was so spot on. I, on the other hand, have seen the film so many times that I was more focused on the musicians and they did not disappoint. Just an absolutely delightful performance!
The audience was drop-jawed the entire time and gave round after round of ovations. Please continue this awesome collaboration with DSSO and MN Ballet!
The Minnesota Ballet dancers were lovely and skilled, and the orchestra was over the top in their skill, intuition, and presentation. The music was like honey pouring over the audience. I didn't expect such talent, great acoustics, and professionalism from "little" Duluth, but there it was. I would certainly return for another performance.
Concert was fabulous! Violin player was extraordinary. Very fun concert all around.
