Doc Walker in Concert
As a band that built its fan base in time-tested fashion â one hard-earned crowd at a time â Doc Walker knows a thing or two about relating to an audience. Their signature mix of country, pop, folk and rock pretty much qualifies them to be a modern-day, Canadian equivalent of the Eagles: they've got a sound that's simultaneously easy on the ears and exciting. And whether they're delivering hits like "Put It Into Drive" and "That's How I Like It" or some of their deeper cuts, Doc Walker brings an enthusiasm that's absolutely infectious. You'd basically have to go out of your way not to have a good time at their shows.
Doc Walker Background
Chris Thorsteinson founded the first lineup of the Canadian country band in Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, back in 1991. It wasn't until 1997 that Doc Walker released their debut album, Good Day to Ride, however, at which point the band lineup included Thorsteinson, guitarist Dave Wasyliw, fiddler Mark Morriseau, bassist Ben Loutit and drummer Randy Weidmer. It was obvious from the beginning that Doc Walker was meant for big things when their very first single from that album, "That Bridge," made it to the Top 40 of the Canadian country charts. After that, the band hit the road hard and started building up a strong grassroots following, eventually taking on a new rhythm section comprised of bassist Blake Manley and drummer Marc Branconnier. Then 2001's Curve took things to another level, wracking up three Top 10 country hits and earning Doc Walker the first of many Juno nominations. With Thorsteinson and Wasyliw remaining at the core, Doc Walker has gone from strength to strength ever since, earning tons of Canadian Country Music Association awards and nabbing a Juno in 2009 for the album Beautiful Life, not to mention making guest appearances on high-profile hits by Emerson Drive and Blackjack Billy along the way.

Great concert, good venue. Seating is cramped and sould be more washrooms.
Happy I went even though I had NO idea who the artist was. They put on a GREAT show!! Odd thing was the venue was only 1/4 full. Then a photo and signing afterwards.
Love seeing shows at Club Regent Event Centre, Great sound, great visual of stage from any section. Recommend this venue to all. Great show, home town down to earth.
This was such a fantastic concert. I loved every minute of it. The band had the right mix of songs and audience interaction. I've been a fan for 20+ years, but this was my first time seeing them in concert; they did not disappoint. I would see them again in a heartbeat.
Great venue...fantastic show! All three bands put on a great show!
