About

Dita Von Teese on Tour

Dita Von Teese, Queen of Burlesque and cabaret performer extraordinaire, offers sophisticated, sexy performances that transcend the striptease. Inspired by pinup girls like Bettie Page and burlesque icons like Gypsy Rose Lee, Dita has created a magical, mesmerizing persona on and off stage.

Dita has toured the world with her burlesque revues, including three full-length shows: Burlesque: Strip Strip Hooray!, The Art of the Teese, and Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe. Her current tours incorporate sketches from these famous spectaculars, as well as acts from up-and-coming dancers, singers and models.

Even more beautiful in person than she is in her famous fashion and fetish photographs as an artist's model and calendar girl, Dita is both a classy host and world-class dancer. Originally a ballerina, Dita Von Teese has been singing, modeling — and yes, stripping — since the early 1990s. Her shows are glamorous and fun, and although there is an exotic-erotic charge in the atmosphere, the vibe alternates between sultry and campy, as the most classic burlesque is famous for.

Dita Von Teese was born Heather Renée Sweet in 1972 in Rochester, Michigan. Her girlish interest in playing dress-up in her mother's clothes and her burgeoning obsession with the film stars of the ‘40s intersected, and she created a femme-fatale, glamour-girl persona that she used when she began her burlesque career in her early twenties.

As one might expect from a fashion icon with her own line of lingerie, couture accessories and perfumes in major department stores, the costumes and makeup in Dita's shows are to die for. The intrigue of burlesque includes both putting on and taking off clothing, after all.

Dita's long resume as an actor and entertainer includes a cameo on CSI performing her famous champagne glass act, as well as Eurovision 2009 and videos by Green Day, Thirty Seconds to Mars and her former spouse Marilyn Manson. Her TV appearances cover more than 10 years on such shows as RuPaul's Drag Race, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model and as a guest judge on Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef Masters and Cupcake Wars.

Besides being a brand ambassador for luxury brands like Cointreau and Perrier, she is also a humanitarian spokesperson for HIV prevention and finding a cure for AIDS, and received the American AIDS Foundation for AIDS Research Award of Courage in 2008.

Dita Von Teese is the author of two books, Burlesque and the Art of the Teese, and Your Beauty Mark, The Ultimate Guide to Eccentric Glamour.

    Miss Von Teese

by Camille on 1/16/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

If you’re lucky enough to have the opportunity to see Miss Dita Von Teese don’t hesitate to buy tickets. We’ve never been to a burlesque show and now we are forever spoiled. The show was so fun and entertaining….we didn’t want the night to end. We splurged and purchased the meet and greet tickets, she was so sincere, gracious, and stunning (of course).

    Captivating

by Em on 1/13/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

Omg!! I’ve been to a couple burlesque shows before but this was definitely next level! Awesome performers, but honestly my fave was the host. He drew our attention and had us all laughing the entire time! It really made the experience that much better. Would definitely go again. Only issue I had was after halfway intermission, they immediately shut down the bar. I never went to get a drink at intermission because the lines were insane and some people weren’t getting back to their seats til 5 or so minutes after intermission, so my plan was to quickly go after. Just to find they had already closed. Was kind of disappointing.

Glamourous Tour with New Acts and a Few Favorites

by Zannah on 1/13/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

This Dita Von Teese tour has new elements and new performers. Two Latin dance pieces have been added that I thought were quite sensual and evocative. Dita has two new female burlesque artists that were absolutely stunning and unique in their styles. Johnny McGovern emceed the event and was his usual boisterous self- the man is a presence on any stage. Not just the ladies undress at these shows - she has male burlesque artists as well. Something for everyone. Dirty Martini was a crowd pleaser and she is such fun to see again. As always the costumes were exquisite, and the music was on point "Let me Entertain You." If you have the opportunity to purchase tickets for the meet and greet I highly recommend it. Dita is very kind and equally stunning in person. I truly believe she genuinely enjoys her performances. Overall I thought it was a great production and I hope she comes back through Seattle again in the future. I have attended three separate tours in Seattle and enjoyed them all.

    Underwhelming

by Jpjp on 1/13/23Queen Elizabeth Theatre - Vancouver

From the worlds most uncomfortable seats to a very anti climatic show I was left feeling a bit bummed. Dita walked around the stage at a snails pace and barely did anything. The other supporting acts were the only reason it was not a snooze fest. If you’re thinking about going I’d say don’t bother.

Dita and a Whole Buncha Nothing

by EyeAmThor on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Wow, really? For the price I paid for three tickets with seats not in the same row (one behind the other behind the other) you think they would have actually put on a First Class show? There were essentially NO stage setups and the only props turned out to be the curtains. C'mon...even the tiny burlesque shows in Santa Ana California at an old dilapidated theatre used scenery and props. The limited time Dita was actually on stage was wrought with her missing her steps and even at one point kicking another dancer. I could have watched YouTube feature videos and seen pretty much everything Dita brought to the performance. If you haven't seen her before (as I hadn't) I would think twice about buying premium cost tickets. More like a Vaudeville show and less burlesque....

    Wow... Just wow

by JBart on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

We flew all the way from Colorado to see this show and it did not disappoint. The sets, costuming, music, props, host, and performers were all top notch. I truly can't think of a single thing that could have been improved upon. Dita VonTeese is a powerhouse performer and put on the most professional and awe inspiring show I have ever witnessed.

    It was okay

by CT on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

The tickets sais show started at 7:30 it started at 8:30. So we waited in the rain way too long.I thought the side acts were better than Dita herself. I love the paramount and I was super excited to go but underwhelmed at the show itself.

A Glamorous Celebration of the Art of Tease

by Mark on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I was in awe the entire time I was watching this show. It’s an explosion of glam and talent, with a great dose of sass. Dita and her crew are phenomenal all throughout. A must see for lovers of the art of tease and Dita fans.

    Great show!

by Johnny on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Dita is very sexy and her and her troupe put on a great show. Unfortunately, the MC kind of ruined it for me. While he was witty and entertaining, it seemed like he spent more time on stage then all of the acts combined and his personality was a bit harsh and loud compared to the rest of the show. For me it wasnt a good fit and it kind of overshadowed the performances.

    Amazing

by Reese on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

Wonderful show! Our third time seeing Dita and her Von-tourage and they’re always amazing! Ticketmaster did have the times wrong- it was listed for 7:30 but when we arrived and checked out the venue, the theatre kindly informed us it was doors at 7:30 and performance at 8:30. So glad we had a hotel for the night!

    Slower Show

by Youllbback on 1/10/23Paramount Theatre - Seattle

I love Dita, been to her shows in the past. This was a great show but it was lacking Dita. She only did a few dances the rest had other's performing for 2 hours. In the past shes been involved in the majority of the numbers and dances in one way or another between clothing changes. I was a little disappointed. Still a great show but it wasnt a Dita show.

    Exciting Event

by Susan on 1/4/23Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

From the start Dita gave a stunning performance, which continued throughout the show and was a pleasure to watch. The support acts were excellent and very enjoyable making the show a pleasant evening out. The dull exterior of the venue disguised a beautiful Theatre interior which gave the show a real 1940's feel.

    Good but the same

by Zoe on 1/3/23Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Saw the Valentine’s Day Gala in February, and this New Year’s Eve show was very similar. I liked that they added group numbers this time, and had the ventriloquist. That being said, 3 of the performers did the same numbers as in the VD Gala and the host made the same jokes. I enjoyed the show but I hope that the next show I see will be a bit fresher.

    Glamorous and Sexy!

    by D. A. on 1/3/23Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

Doors opened at 9 we got there at 9:20. The line was down and around the block but moving fast. Everyone was really dressed up which made it more fun! Our seats were row V center/right in the orchestra below the balcony and I could see the stage clearly. The theater is beautiful and the show was better than I expected. Dita was really the star of the show and had some amazing guests peppered throughout. The host was funny, the crowd was lively, and the countdown was great. Just make sure to grab a drink at intermission for the toast! 10/10 Highly Recommend!

by HuskyDad on 2/17/22Orpheum Theatre - Los Angeles

If you've not experienced a Dita Von Teese show you are truly missing something special. Dita brings back the beauty, glamour and seduction of burlesque without sinking to tawdry or smutty. All the company's talented performers are excellent. The audience embraces Dita's style esthetic and glamour and it makes for fascinating people-watching.
