About

Dita Von Teese on Tour

Dita Von Teese, Queen of Burlesque and cabaret performer extraordinaire, offers sophisticated, sexy performances that transcend the striptease. Inspired by pinup girls like Bettie Page and burlesque icons like Gypsy Rose Lee, Dita has created a magical, mesmerizing persona on and off stage.

Dita has toured the world with her burlesque revues, including three full-length shows: Burlesque: Strip Strip Hooray!, The Art of the Teese, and Dita Von Teese and the Copper Coupe. Her current tours incorporate sketches from these famous spectaculars, as well as acts from up-and-coming dancers, singers and models.

Even more beautiful in person than she is in her famous fashion and fetish photographs as an artist's model and calendar girl, Dita is both a classy host and world-class dancer. Originally a ballerina, Dita Von Teese has been singing, modeling — and yes, stripping — since the early 1990s. Her shows are glamorous and fun, and although there is an exotic-erotic charge in the atmosphere, the vibe alternates between sultry and campy, as the most classic burlesque is famous for.

Dita Von Teese was born Heather Renée Sweet in 1972 in Rochester, Michigan. Her girlish interest in playing dress-up in her mother's clothes and her burgeoning obsession with the film stars of the ‘40s intersected, and she created a femme-fatale, glamour-girl persona that she used when she began her burlesque career in her early twenties.

As one might expect from a fashion icon with her own line of lingerie, couture accessories and perfumes in major department stores, the costumes and makeup in Dita's shows are to die for. The intrigue of burlesque includes both putting on and taking off clothing, after all.

Dita's long resume as an actor and entertainer includes a cameo on CSI performing her famous champagne glass act, as well as Eurovision 2009 and videos by Green Day, Thirty Seconds to Mars and her former spouse Marilyn Manson. Her TV appearances cover more than 10 years on such shows as RuPaul's Drag Race, Project Runway, America's Next Top Model and as a guest judge on Hell's Kitchen, Top Chef Masters and Cupcake Wars.

Besides being a brand ambassador for luxury brands like Cointreau and Perrier, she is also a humanitarian spokesperson for HIV prevention and finding a cure for AIDS, and received the American AIDS Foundation for AIDS Research Award of Courage in 2008.

Dita Von Teese is the author of two books, Burlesque and the Art of the Teese, and Your Beauty Mark, The Ultimate Guide to Eccentric Glamour.

Everything about “Glamonatrix” was dazzling, gorgeous, with beautiful production values. Dita Von Teese is mesmerizing, and breathtaking. She is an amazingly creative, stylish, and talented woman who surrounds herself with great talent. I had a fabulous time.

Most amazing show on this planet!

by Kyley on 1/30/23Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

I took my husband and best friend to see Dita Von Teese in New Orleans at the Orpheum Theater and can I just say that this was hands down the most body positive, inclusive show I have ever had the honor to watch. All of the acts were insanely talented and we all remarked the next day about how our cheeks were sore from all of the laughing and smiling at the show. If you aren't sure if the ticket prices are worth it, I am here to say it ABSOLUTELY is (and I'm super cheap)! You will leave the show not only entertained, but feeling as beautiful as everyone on that stage. Buy the tickets! Go to the show! Thank me later! :)

    Pure excellence

by NolaB on 1/30/23Orpheum Theater - New Orleans

Dita and her entourage were absolute perfection for her new show Glamonatrix. The stage sets, the costumes, the choreography..so beautiful and entertaining. The talent, the physical capabilites were just incredible. The only thing we thought was lacking was the MC, we found him more annoying than funny or engaging. The Orpheum does need to do better than having everyone lined up outside waiting to get in, though.

    UNFORGETTABLE

by Stef on 1/27/23Bayou Music Center - Houston

I have seen videos of Dita's shows online more than I can count but nothing will ever compare to the real experience. The production, costume design, music, and sheer talent is extraordinary. And she is such a legend!!! I suggest spending the extra cash to get a seat closer to the front.

    Ticketing problems

by Mike on 1/27/23Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

I bought tickets-by-mail in Sept. 2022 & they never arrived. 2 weeks before the show -with no notice from Ticketmaster; I had to ask - I learned there had been a “delay” placed on tickets & they could only be released a week before the show (so they would never reach me in time.) The show was on Jan. 20 but I couldn’t transfer my mail tickets to Will Call tickets until the 17th. That cuts it too close & the (non) communication for months was nonexistant.

    Dita Is The Queen

by Mycroft007 on 1/24/23Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

I'm a long time fan of Dita, and this was my second time to see her. She did not disappoint. Not only is she the breathtakingly beautiful Queen of Burlesque, her show include other amazing dancers as well. Lots of fun and the best looking crowd you'll see at any event.

    Nice evening

by Just Chillen on 1/23/23Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

This was an interesting show. Probably more of what you might expect to see in Las Vegas. Ladies were very fashionably dressed yet knew exactly how much clothing to remove and yet keep it clean. Men were a bit more conservative and never removed anything beyond what you would see at a public swimming pool. The dancing was interesting. The music was entertaining. The costumes were also interesting and took on more of a roaring 20s Ragtime type theme...until they came off of course. Overall, it was a nice show. Not something that I would personally watch again. Seen it once and it's time to move on.

    Wonderful

by Stacy F. on 1/23/23Majestic Theatre Dallas - Dallas

This show was an absolute delight. Dita was on point and so glamourous! Her other dancers were just as amazing. The show was almost 2 hours and went by so fast because it was so entertaining! Each dancer was unique and had something to offer. Dita was iconic on the lipstick and in the glass. The meet and greet was worth it. She took her time and it didn't feel rushed. Overall, it was a positive experience and a wonderful show.

    WOW

    by Gabby on 1/21/23

We attended the sold out show in Dallas at the Majestic Theater. It was an absolute DREAM! When going to see Dita make sure you dress to impress! "People watching" the other show-goers was so much fun. Everyone looked so glamorous! Now about the show...It was amazing! The host was funny and engaging. The only thing I would change, is for Dita's performance with the cake to be longer. The costumes and music selections were 1920's authentic. Dita and the other performers, male and female, really exude sensuality and sex appeal in such a classy way. I highly recommend this show to everyone! I will definitely see her again when she comes back to Dallas!

Amazing show, great costumes, great performers.

by Sloejoe 87 on 1/17/23Palace of Fine Arts - San Francisco

I am only a humble servant of my Mistress Dita. She graciously and extravagantly performs for her masses. Doors opened at 7:15 and the audience filed into the lobby where we could buy merchandise, drinks and food until the auditorium doors opened at 8:30 and the show started at around 9pm and ended at around 11pm. There is a 20 minute intermission in the middle. All of Dita's costumes are amazing. Her other dancers and entertainers are all great as well.
